Everytime I click on a thread to view, I get the "Wizards Database Error" random encounter. Which I guess makes it not random at all. But anyway, in short, it's annoying and I don't understand why it pops up on every thread.

"Database error
The Wizards Community database has encountered a problem.
Please try the following:

* Load the page again by clicking the Refresh button in your web browser.
* Open the forums.gleemax.com home page, then try to open another page.
* Click the Back button to try another link.

The forums.gleemax.com forum technical staff have been notified of the error, though you may contact them if the problem persists.

We apologise for any inconvenience."

Note, refreshing does nothing (it's as bad as the goggles).

If you look at the actual HTML by using View Source, if using IE, you can usually see a mySQL database error message. I see "corrupted table needs repair" often but have also seen "duplicate key" messages. Either way, they've got serious issues that will not be an easy fix.

Unfortunately, ever since the launch of 4E (and probably a little beforehand), WotC has been having several scaling issues with the forums, and they've been dealing with a lot of problems that they didn't really have to encounter before. One wonders if it's just a shortcoming of the forum software they're using, or perhaps the server architecture, or whatever.

What I do know is that they've been working very hard trying to stabilize the boards, for what it's worth.

Well, now that I can finally get back on.

Thanks for explaining the problem.
