I've been trying to change my screen name here from the Krys_Tamar_02 (02? as far as I know, I've been the only Krys Tamar at the wizards site forever) to something without at number...like:

But everytime I try, there is "an unexpected error" and I'm asked to close my browser and try again, but even doing that doesn't work. I've tried calling, but if I have any website problems, I'm supposed to send an e-mail to an address that kicks back a non-deliverable mailerdaemon. Is there SOME recourse I can take?

To the best of my knowledge, there's no direct e-mail address to Customer Service as issues can't be tracked as accurately when they come in unsolicited and without going through the help system.
All is not lost, however. Accounts that have the bug you're seeing can be repaired rather easily as I understand it. All you need to do to get your help account fixed is post in this thread.
An ORC will see it, make the needed change, and then you'll be able to contact CS once more.

Its pretty sad when you have to get help to be able to contact customer service, to resolve a problem. Just another thing to add to the list of why these message boards don't live up to what they should have.
That thread has existed sense Dec 26, 2008, so it isn't just a new forum problem.
Also customer service is an a separate site and not part of the message boards.
The slightest bit of checking should have shown both of these
