You start in box 2. Owen's initiative is 24, Nest's is 2 (and may I say, ouch, on rolling a 20 for one character and a 1 for the other). Wraith will act on Nest's initiative.

We may begin.

Owen starts in the front corner and Nest in the back corner.

Owen Casts Fly and Q. Shield

Just to be sure, you bringing Wraith, or leaving him behind?

You cast without incident. You each hear some chanting vaguely coming from the box west of you, but not clearly enough to ID the spell (at two separate times - first check Owen gets a 6, Nest is in the negatives; second Owen is in the negatives, Nest gets a 1). Nest is up.

For Pitlord & Spectators only.
The Dragons enter with Mage Armor prebuffed (extended on the young Bronze). The Brass holds a scroll of haste, the Bronze of holds nothing.

Initiative: Owen 24, Bronze 7, Brass 5, Nest 2.

Owen casts fly and quickened shield. The Dragons automatically hear this (+24 and +25 listen checks, only -10 distance mod).
Bronze casts Eagle's Splendor.
Brass casts Mirror Image ([4]+2=6 images).
Nest rides out at the Dragons, casts Feeblemind on the Bronze (SR [14]+13=27 vs 20, save [18]+18-4=32 vs DC 26, fails), and then rides back to her start point.

Owen: 117/106 hp; AC 21; 64/72 SLs; (25,25); Mage Armor (long), Darkvision (long), Fly (long), Shield (long), Aid (ends 30), Invisible (ends 30)
Bronze: 189/189 hp; AC 34; (5,28); Mage Armor (long), Eagle's Splendor (ends 51)
Brass: 199/199 hp; AC 32; (4,26); Mage Armor (long), Mirror Image (6 images, ends 71)
Nest: 110/90 hp; AC 15; 60/65 SLs; (28,29); Mage Armor (long), Darkvision (long), False Life (long), Aid (ends 30)
- Wraith: 49/45 hp; AC 19; (27,29); Aid (ends 30)
- Phantom Steed: 35/26 hp; AC 18; (same as Nest); Aid (ends 30)

He is there ... and I should have prebuffed aids up as well.

Nest will ride out on the phantom steed towards the west box and cast some spells depending on what she sees... (ie noticeable spells)

Right then. At 100' of movement, she has reached this point, and sees the Dragons:

The one on the left, the Brass, has Mirror Image (6 images, so there appear to be 7 of him). On the right, the Bronze has no visible spell effect up.

sounds like I might get away with some luck here ... Feeblemind on the Bronze. should be SR+13 and a DC 26 Will ... (with -4 for the Bronze to save)

Nest will then ride back to the start box .. (probably need a conc check here.)

Edit: Owen -> SM7

Nah, cast a spell while double-moving on a mount is only a DC 10+SL check. You auto-succeed at that.

Nest casts Feeblemind and feels the Dragon's spell resistance buckle, but not the creature's willpower. It remains unaffected. She then retreats to where she began.

Wraith and Owen's actions?

Owen will begin casting his summoning spell and I will continue as soon as I know what you want Wraith to do.

Very well then, he does nothing for now. Round 2 begins, and Owen starts casting.

You each see the Brass Dragon appear at the entrance to your box before Nest can act, but it doesn't attack just yet.

The Bronze, however, soars in, sets down right in front of Owen, and breathes lightning across the whole group. Owen, Nest, and Wraith all fail their saves and take 35 damage, but the Steed succeeds and takes only 17 (I seem to recall us giving Va'ria's Phantom Steed a reflex save vs a Fireball way back when, using its +5 dex from its AC mod, so I did that here, and you got lucky). Owen cannot concentrate past that much damage (concentration check DC 52 is impossible), so he loses his summoning spell. Also, the attack activates the Dragon's Frightful Presence - you all fail your saves on that one (except the Steed, because I have no idea what to do in that one's save), and so are Shaken for a while now (-2 attack, saves, skills, etc).

Nest is up.

Edit: For reference, your current hps:
- Owen 82/106
- Nest 75/90
- Wraith 45/45
- Steed 18/26

Pitlord & Spectators Only
Round 2
Owen begins casting Summon Monster 7.
The Bronze Dragon delays for the Brass to cast his spell.
The Brass casts Haste from his scroll, then moves up towards Owen and Nest.
The Bronze flies in close to her foes, and sensing Owen's location via blindsense, puts down in front of him and breaths her lightning upon the entire group. (Reflex: Owen [5]+13=18, Nest [2]+11=13, Steed [19]+5=24 vs DC 23, damage 35 and 17.) Owen loses his spell (Concentration DC 52 impossible). Her Frightful Presence activates, and the whole group is affect (Will [2]+15=17 and [10]+14=24 and [1!]+9=10 vs DC 27, duration 16 rounds.) Breath recharges in [3] rounds.
Nest moves to cover and casts Confusion on the Dragons ([1]+13=14 and [7]+13=20 vs SR 20, will [14]+18=32 vs DC 25), but they are unaffected. She then adds a Quickened Ray of Enfeeblement at the Bronze (attack [19]+6-2shaken-4in melee=19 vs touch AC 13+4cover=17, SR [1]+12=13 vs SR 20), but it fizzles out.
Wraith moves up and uses Aid on Owen (+6 hp).

Owen: 86/106 hp; AC 21; 57/72 SLs; (25,25); Mage Armor (long), Darkvision (long), Fly (long), Shield (long), Aid (ends 30), Invisible (ends 32), Shaken (ends 18)
Brass: 199/199 hp; AC 33; (20,22); Mage Armor (long), Mirror Image (6 images, ends 71), Haste (ends 9)
Bronze: 189/189 hp; AC 35; (23,24); Mage Armor (long), Eagle's Splendor (ends 51), Breath recharge round 5, Haste (ends 9)
Nest: 75/90 hp; AC 15; 51/65 SLs; (29,24); Mage Armor (long), Darkvision (long), Aid (ends 30), Shaken (ends 18)
- Wraith: 45/45 hp; AC 19; (26,26); Aid (ends 30), Shaken (ends 18)
- Phantom Steed: 18/26 hp; AC 18; (same as Nest); Aid (ends 30)

Right then, missed that.

Nest moves to the west statue and casts Confusion. She fails to penetrate the Brass' SR (rolled a natural 1), and though she beats the Bronze's SR, it makes its save. She then casts Quickened Ray of Enfeeblement at the Bronze, but the ray fizzles out as it strikes the Dragon (touch attack succeeds, but you fail SR with another natural 1).

Owen's up for round 3 (or Wraith, if you want him to do anything).

Wraith flies up to Owen and casts Aid on him.

Owen ... well ... lets go for get rid of a dragon ...

Plane Shift the Bronze

Succeed: Q. MM the Brass aiming to get rid of targets
Fail: Q. Stinking Cloud the two of them.
Move: East between the two pillars.

Edit: Aid generates 6 hp for Owen.

Owen defensively casts Plane Shift (DC 22 auto-succeeds) and tries to touch the Bronze, but misses. (Touch attack was 10, I had the touch AC for the wrong Dragon, so the roller says it made it.) Do you still want to do a quickened spell, or would you rather hold the Plane Shift's charge for next round? Edit: Wait, I forgot you were invisible. That'll give you +2, and drop the Dragon's touch AC by 2 as well. So you'll hit. Rolling...

Okay, you hit, pass SR easily, but the Dragon makes its will save, albeit barely. You cast quickened stinking cloud, but they seem unaffected by that, as well. You move away, drawing an AoO that hits you for 13 damage. You end between the pillars to the east.

Pitlord & Spectators Only
Round 3
Owen casts Plane Shift (defensive auto-succeeds, touch [5]+5+2(invis)=12 vs FF touch AC 11, SR [7]+18=25 vs SR 20, will [7]+18=25 vs DC 25), but it fails. He then casts quickened stinking cloud (defensive auto-succeeds, fortitude [4]+18=22 and [4]+18=22 vs DC 21), but neither Dragon is bothered by it. He then moves away, drawing an AoO (attack [9]+23=32 vs AC 25, damage [3]+[1]+[3]+6=13).
The Brass moves east after Owen and breathes fire on the group. Wraith makes his save (reflex [20!]+1=21 vs DC 23 auto-succeeds, Improved Evasion) and takes nothing, but the rest (Owen [3]+11=14, Nest [1!]+9=10, Steed [13]+5=18 vs DC 23) fail and take [1]+[3]+[1]+[6]+[6]+[6]=23 damage.
The Bronze moves after Nest ([1] on a 1d2 to determine target, since I couldn't decide myself) and bites her ([9]+24=33 vs AC 15) for [3]+[5]+[1]+6=15 damage.
Wraith steps away from the Bronze and teleports away.
Nest delays.

Owen: 52/106 hp; AC 25; 57/72 SLs; (25,25); Mage Armor (long), Darkvision (long), Fly (long), Shield (long), Aid (ends 32), Invisible (ends 32), Shaken (ends 18)
Brass: 199/199 hp; AC 33; (27,22); Mage Armor (long), Mirror Image (6 images, ends 71), Haste (ends 9), Breath recharge round 4
Bronze: 189/189 hp; AC 35; (24,29); Mage Armor (long), Eagle's Splendor (ends 51), Breath recharge round 5, Haste (ends 9)
Nest: 35/90 hp; AC 15; 51/65 SLs; (23,30); Mage Armor (long), Darkvision (long), Aid (ends 30), Shaken (ends 18)

Round 3, post-Owen:

The Brass Dragon moves east after Owen and lines up a shot of his fire breath to strike the entire group. Wraith makes its save and takes no damage (natural 20, familiar Improved Evasion), but everyone else fails (Owen 14, Nest natural 1, Steed 18, DC 23), taking the full 23 damage. The Phantom Steed is destroyed by this. Nest fails her soft fall check, but takes only 1 damage on the way down.

The Bronze decides to go after Nest, and bites into her, doing 15 damage.

Nest and Wraith are up, then Owen.

HPs: Owen 52/106
Nest 36/90
Wraith 45/45

The Gamble:

Nest Delays.

Wraith teleports to the SE box
Also see if the dragons are affected by aura of menace

Owen draws and AoO from the Bronze, flies through the stinking cloud to reach Nest on the far side of the pillars (makes his save ... for the love of the dice roller) ... and then casts D. Door (defensively) to the SE box w/ Nest.

If Owen passes save ...
Nest Casts Hei Magic Jar

IMAGE(http://www.identicalsoftware.com/coco/coco.php;v=1;map=Cavern;a=Name,M,2,7,Owen;b=Name,M,2,8,Nest;c=Name,M,9,9,Wraith)

Er, problem. How do you intend to have Nest cast Magic Jar with no enemies in sight? You require a target for that, you know... Oh, I see. Damn spell is tricky. The initial casting only puts her soul in the Jar, nothing else. Okay then, off we go.

Both Dragons easily pass Aura of Menace, incidentally.

Wraith steps out of the Dragon's reach and teleports away. Owen moves, drawing an AoO bite from the Brass Dragon that sinks into him for 14 damage. He enters his own cloud and manages to pass it unaffected (fortitude [13]+12=25 vs DC 21). He flies up to Nest, avoiding another AoO by the grace of the cover-granting statues, and casts Dimension Door (defensive DC 19 auto-succeeds), taking his pupil and himself to the southeast box.

Once there, Nest begins a new plan by casting Magic Jar, sealing her soul in the jar she carries and letting her body fall limp and unused.

The Brass, annoyed, flies west out of the box their foes fled, unaffected by the magic cloud. When he spots Wraith, he heads towards the box the Archon is in front of. The Archon blocks his path, so he bites heavily at Archon (damage 17 - yes, I remembered his DR).

The Bronze, also unbothered by the cloud, flies out like the Brass, and also bites the Archon, doing 9 damage.

Wraith now has 19/45 hp. Owen has 38/106 after the AoO. Owen is up, then Nest/Wraith.

IMAGE(http://www.identicalsoftware.com/coco/coco.php;v=1;map=Cavern;a=O,M,27,23,23,24,22,29,2,7,Owen;b=N,M,23,30,2,8,Nest;c=Bs,L,27,22,16,22,9,11,Brass;d=Bz,L,24,29,24,25,21,18,11,10,Bronze;e=W,S,9,9,Wraith;n=Cloud,22,22,4)
Pitlord & Spectators only.
Round 4
Owen moves away, drawing an AoO from the Brass (attack [5]+26=31 vs AC 25, damage [3]+[3]+8=14), flies through the cloud (fortitude [13]+12=25 vs DC 21), and dimension doors away with Nest.
Nest casts Magic Jar.
The Brass Dragon flies through the cloud (fortitude [18]+18=36 vs DC 21) and at Wraith, attacking him with power attack 15 in the hopes of one-shotting him (attack [16]+26-15=27 vs AC 19, damage [2]+[2]+23=27-10DR=17).
The Bronze does similarly (fortitude [13]+18=31 vs DC 21) ignoring the cloud, and also bites Wraith (attack [2]+23=25 vs AC 19, damage [4]+[3]+[6]+6=19).

Owen: 38/106 hp; AC 25; 53/72 SLs; (2,7); Mage Armor (long), Darkvision (long), Fly (long), Shield (long), Aid (ends 32), Invisible (ends 32), Shaken (ends 18)
Nest: 35/90 hp; AC 15; 46/65 SLs; (2,8); Mage Armor (long), Darkvision (long), Aid (ends 30), Shaken (ends 18), Magic Jar
- Wraith: 19/45 hp; AC 19; (9,9); Aid (ends 30), Shaken (ends 18)
Brass: 199/199 hp; AC 33; (9,11); Mage Armor (long), Mirror Image (6 images, ends 71), Haste (ends 9)
Bronze: 189/189 hp; AC 35; (11,10); Mage Armor (long), Eagle's Splendor (ends 51), Breath recharge round 5, Haste (ends 9)

All right, its the top of the third, you've successfully Plane Shifted the Bronze away, leaving the Brass. You cast Quickened Magic Missile instead of Quickened Stinking Cloud, destroying 4 of the 6 images and striking the Brass once for 5 damage.

The Brass, shocked at the disappearance of its partner, roars and moves after Owen. He bites down on the Wizard, hard. (27 damage - used the roll originally used against Wraith in round 4.)

The Phantom Steed is still alive in this edit (18/26 hp). Owen is at 59/106 hp, Nest at 75/90, Wraith at full. The map is as so:

IMAGE(http://www.identicalsoftware.com/coco/coco.php;v=1;map=Cavern;a=O,M,25,25,27,23,Owen;b=N,L,23,30,Nest;c=Bs,L,20,22,26,22,Brass;e=W,S,26,26,Wraith)
Nest is up.

Pitlord & Spectators Only
Round 3
Owen casts Plane Shift (defensive auto-succeeds, touch [5]+5+2(invis)=12 vs FF touch AC 11, SR [7]+18=25 vs SR 20, will [7]+18=25 vs DC 26), sending the Dragon to another Plane. he then casts Quickened Magic Missile, destroying 4 images and hitting the Dragon himself once (SR [19]+18=37 vs SR 20, damage [4]+1=5). He then moves away
The Dragon moves after Owen and power attacks him (attack [16]+12=28 vs AC 25, damage [2]+[2]+23=27).

AHHHHH much more manageable...

Ok Nest Delays
Wraith delays
Owen moves North 3 Squares (draws AoO - I'll take the 14 from his other AoO from before)

Owen casts MM in a 2,2,1 burst trying to get the rest of the images
Wraith casts Aid on Owen
Nest moves around to the entrance of the section and fires Ray of Exhaustion and Q. Ray of Enfeeblement on the mirror image-less dragon.

Hm, I had another idea for the AoO, but I'll give you that old attack.

Nest and Wraith wait, giving up their round 3 actions. Owen moves away, and the AoO misses (new circumstances move the attack roll down). He casts magic missile at the Dragon, and gets very lucky - the first two bolts immediately drop the images, and the remaining missiles all impact for maximum damage (15 total).

Wraith uses Aid, bolstering Owen's hp by 8.

Nest rides southwest to the entrance and casts Ray of Exhaustion and Quickened Ray of Enfeeblement, but though both seem to strike the Dragon, they also seem to have no effect. (Touch attacks hit - one even with a 20 - but both SR checks failed. Pulled out the one originally used on Magic Jar, and the new one was [4]+12=16 vs SR 20. Ouch.)

The Dragon, obviously irritated but not actually worried, casts another Mirror Image spell, though this one only generates 3 images. He then walks around the statues and up to Owen.

IMAGE(http://www.identicalsoftware.com/coco/coco.php;v=1;map=Cavern;a=O,M,27,23,27,26,Owen;b=N,L,23,30,21,22,Nest;c=Bs,L,26,22,29,23,28,26,Brass;e=W,S,26,26,Wraith)
Round 5 begins, Owen is up.
Pitlord & Spectators Only.
Round 4
Owen moves away from the Dragon, provoking an AoO (Attack [5]+26-15+1=17 vs AC 25) that misses. He then casts magic missiles at the Dragon, destroying the two remaining images and ([15]+18=33 vs SR 20, MM damage [4]+[4]+[4]+3=15) hurting the Dragon.
Wraith uses aid on Owen ([5]+3=8 hp).
Nest moves to the box entrance and casts Ray of Exhaustion and Quickened Ray of Enfeeblement (touch attacks [9]+6-2=13 and [20!]+6-2=24 vs touch AC 10, SR [3]+12=15 and [4]+12=16 vs SR 20 fail), but they are both rebuffed by the Dragon's spell resistance.
The Dragon then casts a new mirror image spell ([1]+2=3 images) and moves to base Owen.

You attempt to move away, but rather than simply bite you, the Dragon grabs your leg with its claw and sends you sprawling to the floor, before following up with a painful bite. (Trip easily overcomes you, follow-up for 13 damage.)

Changes to actions? And even if there are none, you're going to have to explain that web's positioning to me. I'm horrible with that spell... have never been able to figure out how to visualize it...

May 22, 2009 9:42:55
Owen has magical flight and is immune to tripping. Not sure if this is a FAQ rule or errata, or courtroom ... I went looking but can't find it.

Web is a 20 ft spread ... put the center point right at the middle of the dragon. Then apply the details of the spell.

Oh right, forgot about that. Very well, you just take the damaging AoO then. New map:
IMAGE(http://www.identicalsoftware.com/coco/coco.php;v=1;map=Cavern;a=O,M,27,26,17,21,Owen;b=N,L,21,22,Nest;c=Bs,L,28,26,Brass;e=W,S,26,26,Wraith)

But again, I'm still not sure how web works. I get the 20'-radius thing... but is it a vertical web? Horizontal? If its horizontal, why does it need anchors? (Speaking of which, which points are you anchoring it at here?) The whole thing with it providing cover especially confuses me, as I can't visualize how that works at all...
#34

Erithmu

May 23, 2009 9:23:35
my anchor points are basically floor, ceiling, the eastern wall, and some of the pillars.

So Dragon makes Rflx save:
Fails: Entangled and prevented from moving
- Spend 1 round and make DC 20 Str or DC 25 Escape to break free
- treated as entangled
Save/breaks free:
- Make Str or Escape Artist check, move 5ft for a check of 10 and 5 more ft for 15, 20, etc
- treated as entangled

Okay, that doesn't seem to fully match what hogarth said in the FotW thread (he said it could be either vertical or horizontal; you seem to be presuming a full 3D spread - which wouldn't work with only two anchor points, the spell's minimum, so it seems an odd assumption to me), but whatever, its enough to go on.

Nest casts the web spell, but the Dragon easily makes its save. Wraith teleports out.
IMAGE(http://www.identicalsoftware.com/coco/coco.php;v=1;map=Cavern;a=O,M,27,26,17,21,Owen;b=N,L,21,22,Nest;c=Bs,L,28,26,Brass;e=W,S,26,26,18,19,Wraith;o=Web,29,25,4)

The Dragon breathes its firey breath over the web and at Nest, incinerating a line of the web before it. Nest makes her save and takes only 9 damage, but her steed fails an takes 18, just enough to destroy it. Nest fails soft fall and takes 1 damage from that (pulled from old rolls).

Round 6 begins, Owen is up. The fire burning the webs will free the Dragon itself this turn (last round it just burned the area the breath passed over, but with it continuing to burn thereafter, the Dragon will be out of the web this round).

Pitlord & Spectators Only.
Round 5
Owen moves away drawing an AoO (attack: [7]+26=33 vs AC 25, damage [1]+[4]+8=13) for 13 damage.
Nest casts Web on the Dragon (reflex [16]+14+1haste=31 vs DC 20), but it makes its save.
Wraith teleports out of the web.
The Dragon breathes fire, blazing a path through the webs and harming Nest and her mount (reflex [15]+9=24 and [4]+5=9 vs DC 23, damage [2]+[5]+[4]+[3]+[1]+[3]=18 (/2 = 9 Nest), soft fall [5]+1=6 vs DC 15, fall damage [1]), destroying the mount in the process.

Is Owen's movement round 6 a mere 5' step, or do you want to move further?
Edit: All right, to get this moving, I'll assume you meant a 5' step...

Round 6
- Owen casts Acid Fog, dealing 6 damage to the Dragon, and 5' steps SE. The tentacles try to grapple the Dragon, but fail.
- Wraith uses Aid on Owen for 10 hp.
- Nest stands and moves.
- The Dragon is not visible to you through the fog.

Round 9
- Owen casts Magic Missile at the Dragon. Three destroy images, but two strike the Dragon itself for 4 damage. Leaving it with one image.
- Nest 5' steps south-east and begins a summoning spell.
- Wraith attacks the Dragon, destroying the remaining image and dealing 2 damage to the Dragon.
- The Dragon growls in frustration, hesitates, and settles on a different course of action this time. He flies around Owen (whose attack of opportunity with his bite fails to penetrate the Dragon's scales), lands just west of him, and breathes out a cone of heavy gas - sleeping gas. Though Owen withstands it, Wraith and Nest fall asleep under the attack. (Pulled up the old rolls for Owen & Nest - natural 20 and natural 1, respectively - and rolled for Wraith since he wasn't caught in the previous one, [10]+7=17 vs DC 23 fails.)

Owen's AoO was [11]+8=19 vs AC 32.

- Owen defensively (auto-succeeds) casts Telekinesis, and succeeds in overpowering the Dragon's spell resistance, but the might beast fends off his mental power. (SR [7]+18=25 vs SR 20, grapple [7]+18CL+8int=33 vs Dragon [4]+29=33, high mod wins for Dragon.)
- Wraith snoozes.
- The Dragon grins and unleashes his full strength on Owen - or as much of it as he can bring to bear given the effects of Enervation. To his surprise, the Wizard's newfound scales turn his bite and claw attacks, but his wings and tail find their marks, one of the wings even striking near Owen's lungs. (Attacks [2]+24=26 and [9]+24=33 and [3]+24=27 and [20!] and [17]+24=41 and [20!] vs AC 34, confirm [10]+24=34 and [8]+24=32 vs AC 34, damage 13 for crit, 9 for regular wing, and 15 for tail, total 37.)

- The Dragon can't 5' step after Owen thanks to the statue (no 5' steps around corners), so he is forced to walk around to him and merely bite him this round, which to his frustration is turned away again by Owen's scales. (Attack [7]+24=31 vs AC 34.)

That was actually the initiative order anyway.

Round 13
- Nest casts Grease beneath the Dragon, but it doesn't seem bothered by it. (Reflex [18]+14-2enervate=30 vs DC 19.)
- Wraith fires its light rays, striking the Dragon twice. (Attacks [9]+5-4in melee = 10 and [9]+5-4=10 vs AC 10, damage 3 each.)
- Owen attempts another grapple, this time finally succeeding. (Grapple [15]+26=41 vs resist [7]+29=36.)

Say, eh, do you do damage with that grapple? It isn't covered under the spell itself. What would the damage be if it does? Unarmed as normal, even though its a spell? Hm...

I think I can move him half my speed so 20 (dragon land) or 30 (fly spell) or 75 (dragon fly) ... not sure about which ...

Nest will move over to Owen and ?? pull out a pearl of power ?? off Owen
Wraith will shoot light beams.

Don't count your chickens just yet here - this thing still gets opportunities to break out, you know. Four per round, actually.

Anyway, I'll use that for the damage, even though I think its a bit questionable. You deal 9 damage with that successful grapple. You fly around to where Nest is (I didn't calculate it out, but I figure you have more than enough with your Dragon-form flight even given the poor maneuverability).

The Dragon struggles against your mental hold, and handily manages to break free (grapple [20]+29=49 vs resist [12]+26=38). It then quickly flies the short distance between you (flies to avoid the grease, which is where it used to be, but the pins on the mapper overlap too much for me to show it right now).

Still going with the grapple tactic? And which level pearl does Nest want to grab? (For future reference, should you get the chance to try and move a grapple with this, I'd allow you to move at the ground speed or magical flight speed, but not your Dragon flight speed. The whole problem with poor maneuverability and a minimum forward speed make it truly difficult for me to imagine an airborne grapple without at least good manueverability, or the hover feat.)

Owen will continue to try to grapple, Nest grabs a lvl 1 pearl and recalls Ray of Enfeeblement, and tries to hit this time.

You can run a few rounds on that I think.

(I wish I got multiple grapples a round w/ my CL BAB ... but the spell doesn't let me ... grrr)

Yeah, the grapple rules suck sometimes.

Round 14
- Nest grabs a pearl of power from Owen's... pouch we'll say. The Dragon passes up the AoO, preferring to focus on any opportunities Owen may give him.
- Wraith fires off some light rays, but misses (touch 6 and 11, in melee & soft cover applied).
- Owen defensively attempts another TK grapple, and succeeds (35 vs 33) for 9 damage.
- The Dragon, frustrated by that, breathes its sleeping breath over its foes. Owen and Wraith fall asleep, but Nest manages to stay awake. (Saves [9]+13=22 and [11]+12=23 and [2]+7=9 for Owen, then Nest, then Wraith, vs DC 23.) Owen's slumber frees the Dragon from the TK grapple.

Pitlord & Spectators Only.
Sleep duration [6]+6=12 rounds, breath recharge in [3].

Nest: 75/90 hp; AC 15; 28/65 SLs; (24,17); Mage Armor (long), Darkvision (long), Aid (ends 38), Shaken (ends 18), Stinking Cloud (ends 19), Grease (ends 25)
- Wraith: 54/45 hp; AC 19; (22,18); Aid (ends 37), Shaken (ends 18), Sleep (ends 26)
Owen: 12/106 hp; AC 34; 28/72 SLs; (22,19); Mage Armor (long), Darkvision (long), Fly (long), Shield (long), Aid (ends 36), Shaken (ends 18), Acid Fog (ends 25), Polymorph (long), Telekinesis (ends 39), Sleep (ends 26)
Brass: 115/199 hp; AC 32; (20,18); Mage Armor (long), 2 negative levels, breath recharge round 17.

Yea ... I really needed one of those early save or dies to kick in. the plane shift helped, but it would have been nice if the tentacle, stinking cloud, acid cloud would have worked better. Oh well, thanks for the run. I'm assuming the STACK of spells I used will up in due time ...

The current OotS comic seems appropriate here.

Results are up. Also noticed while doing them that I let Nest cast Quickened Ray of Enfeeblement twice during the battle when she only had one prepared, but considering neither worked, I think we can ignore that.

And yeah. "A big pile of spells isn't enough when the other guy has a big pile of spells AND the strength to crush your windpipe with his bare phlanges." Or in this case, a handful of utility spells and the strength to crush any part of you he wishes with a few rounds of Improved Multiattacks.
