| #3zevoxMay 02, 2009 15:53:27 | Riley Okay, we're in the city, so plenty of buff time. Start front corner of my box, holding a stone of vigor and a stone of force screen. Buff: - Vigor (stone, +10, 2 minutes), draw bow. - Force Screen (stone, 2min), draw tanglefoot bag. - Offensive Precognition (memory, +1 attack, 2min). - Offensive Prescience (memory, +2 damage, 2min), single-move out. - Skate (memory, 2min), move out with full intent of finding foe. This shouldn't be too tough. The arena denies him Entangle, he has used up his good offensive spells, his AC isn't good, and he's my favored enemy. Only problem I see likely to occur is that Obscuring Mist and his CLW wand, and those can be dealt with. Heck, at this level I can even deal with the dog pretty well if need be. |
| #4post_ironicMay 03, 2009 11:23:47 | Niwrad Great, Riley. My only loss thus far. This is gonna be kind of rough, since I'm at the end of a cycle that I leveled in and don't have too many good expendables, but let's give it a shot. The city denies starting LOS, so start in the front corner of my box, buffing scroll in hand. 1) Cast Cat's Grace from scroll, sharing with Huxley. Drop scroll. 2) Cast Longstrider from memory, sharing with Huxley. 3) Huxley moves out toward the center. He has scent, is trained for war, and will bark on encountering my foe. He will charge to engage if possible, and always make free trip attempts on successful attacks. Niwrad single moves out behind Huxley, readying to cast Obscuring Mist on encountering his enemy every round. We'll start there. |
| #5turansonMay 03, 2009 16:08:03 | Niwrad R1: you cast cats grace and share with Huxley R2: you cast Longstrider and share with Huxley R3: you move out, and since the distance between Niwrad and Huxley is more than 5 feet, the share spells stop working. R4-R6: you move towards the center. and after moving in round 6 (just 5 foot step to reach the center) Huxley sees Riley. Round 6. Niwrad 33/33 hp. 17+2 AC. [Cats grace [ends 31]], [Longstrider [ends Long]] Huxley 30/30 hp. 21 AC. |
| #6zevoxMay 03, 2009 20:12:27 | Riley All right, I may want to change my actions if he has a higher initiative than me, but presuming I won initiative, move out as in the map below and ready to toss the bag at the dog when it gets within 10'. |
| #7post_ironicMay 04, 2009 14:30:04 | Niwrad Share Spells (Ex): At the druid’s option, she may have any spell (but not any spell-like ability) she casts upon herself also affect her animal companion. The animal companion must be within 5 feet of her at the time of casting to receive the benefit. If the spell or effect has a duration other than instantaneous, it stops affecting the animal companion if the companion moves farther than 5 feet away and will not affect the animal again, even if it returns to the druid before the duration expires. Additionally, the druid may cast a spell with a target of “You” on her animal companion (as a touch range spell) instead of on herself. A druid and her animal companion can share spells even if the spells normally do not affect creatures of the companion’s type (animal). Well, I'll be dammned. I didn't realize that this was pretty much only useful on a mount. That sucks. Huxley will go ahead and charge Riley. Niwrad will move into cover at 47, 26 and load his sling. Gain improved cover if possible. |
| #8zevoxMay 04, 2009 19:59:29 | Perhaps we should submit tactics from here? There's only one day left to finish the fight without Turanson losing his credit reward for it, and it seems our schedules just aren't meshing well this week. |
| #9post_ironicMay 04, 2009 21:41:45 | The thread didn't go up until late in the week, and its graduation weekend here, so I've been busy. I submit to Turanson's opinion. |
| #10turansonMay 05, 2009 14:31:54 | I don't care about credits its been one Hell of a week, and I'm sorry about not being done with the fight by now, but if you do sent me tactics (from the present point), I'll do my best to have it done before Pairings. againg sorry for my lag of time. Ps. Zevox, it is Niwrad turn to act (no reason for you to make extra tactic that will never be used) |
| #11zevoxMay 05, 2009 23:00:37 | Well, I've PMed my tactics from here. The timing isn't really a problem for me - I have plenty of characters I can activate, and probably won't activate Riley in the coming week even if you're done on time. Though if you knew in advance this would be a tough week, you could have just said so, and we could have done this with tactics from the start. (Obviously, nothing for it if the week was tough on you due to surprises.) |
| #12turansonMay 06, 2009 12:35:58 | I knew it would be bad, but not that bad. post_ironic: I'll run the fight, when I get tactic for Riley |
| #13post_ironicMay 06, 2009 12:56:54 | post_ironic: I'll run the fight, when I get tactic for Riley You mean tactics for Niwrad? I'll PM ASAP. |
