News and Whatnot

At this point - I'm hoping everyone is accustomed to the new time change. I've had more than a few comments, both in PM and in regular posts, about the date of the pairings, date of the activations and such.

Basically, at this point, I have to cater to the majority - and by that I mean - most people are posting their activations according to the date that it is for them when the pairings occur. That means - people in Europe and such are posting as if pairings are on Thursday (which it is for them); people in the Americas are mostly posting as if pairings are on Wednesday (which again - it is for them).

This does mean I take on additional work making sure I have both Wednesday and Thursday dates covered - but I'd rather have that than worry about someone who is off of the pairings date by just one day. Since I'm all about making things easier for the players - I think this is good.

This does leave open the issue with the FotW threads - which always shows the Wednesday activation date - well always up until now. Going forward - it will show the Thursday activation date. I'm hoping this won't lead to additional confusion.

Anyway - we had 13 fights for 3.5e CoCo last week and 5 more for 4e CoCo, plus a miniquest. That's very good in my book. I also got a number of new character/reactivation requests and best of all - a couple more pitlords.

This is an 'off' week for ECL10+.

New Rulings - Courtroom

  • nothing ruled on yet

Current Discussions
  • Sweeping Strike - I think this is pretty much clarified, but I'll review first before adding it.
  • Grease - non standard uses - how does it affect non-held but attended objects? Not really a lot of discussion on this - is it really not an issue?
  • Obsidian Steed (Figure of Wondrous Power) - what's its CR? (for prebuffing and for rewards)
  • Metamorphic Transfer - what are its limitations?

The Council Decisions/Revelations
  • None

Current Topics
  • Flight Houserule - I'd like a quick vote on it. Nothing has changed yet - but it looks like something will.


Idle Conversations

These are topics that have died down but had nothing come of them. We may reinvest time into them should they continue to be an issue.
  • Council - Mechanics of the "Awaken" spell is currently being discussed in the council.
  • Council- Delay rules are still being discussed.
  • Courtroom - Sauro wishes an elder decision on using an intelligent cohort as a mount. [and what tricks/training it requires]
  • Council - There is a discussion on how quickly you should be able to aquire ethereal equipment.
  • Courtroom- The rules for Ride and Handle Animal are under discussion.

Pretty rough when you run a fight to round 40, stop to count up arrows and realize that you forgot to roll a secondary poison check back in round 20...
