| #2arealcoolcatJul 03, 2009 12:00:48 | Your team starts in the... lonewolf north |
| #3salrantolJul 03, 2009 12:48:46 | Bareth`kul's Minions Enoch will hold his wand in his main hand, his shield and mace in his off hand. Nemeia will be holding her longsword and shield. Assuming no contact (and if there is some, let me know so I can adjust), Nemeia will walk as shown and ready a charge on being able to charge. Enoch will double walk as shown. |
| #4lonewolfJul 03, 2009 13:23:08 | |
| #5arealcoolcatJul 03, 2009 13:28:38 | Initiative: Serobath 14 Wrogan 11 Enoch 9 Nemeia 3 |
| #6lonewolfJul 03, 2009 13:34:13 | could you please do stealth checks? pinpointing with passive perception isnt really out of the question here. |
| #7lonewolfJul 03, 2009 15:17:13 | actions Serobath moves out, uses oath of enmity on Enoch and uses Angelic Alacricy to get into position to attack him. Wrogan double moves out and spends an action point for Daunting light(with Divine Favor) on Enoch. If there are readied actions interrupting these actions, get back to me before continuing with those actions. |
| #8arealcoolcatJul 03, 2009 15:56:36 | Serobath stalks swiftly around the central pillar, swearing an oath of enmity on Enoch as he does so. He grips his greatsword tightly as he rushes in to draw the first blood this combat, but is interrupted by the cautious Nemeia's rushed charge. However, she swings wide and Serobath expertly sways away from the harmful blade. |
| #9lonewolfJul 03, 2009 16:20:46 | |
| #10arealcoolcatJul 03, 2009 16:51:20 | Serobath's quick feet allow him to skirt around Nemeia and continue his adapted assault. His determined attack lands solidly and Nemeia winces after the blow. Wrogan then steps into view of Nemeia while chanting a quick prayer to his god to bestow divine fortune, thrusts his hand out wide and causes a column of brilliant light to erupt from beneath Nemeia's feet. Nemeia is blasted with radiant energy and her shoulders begin to droop as most of the radiant energy disperses. |
| #11lonewolfJul 03, 2009 17:33:09 | for future reference: Nemeia doesnt have cover against Wrogans attack here |
| #12arealcoolcatJul 03, 2009 17:36:26 | for future reference: Noted. Thanks. |
| #13salrantolJul 03, 2009 18:17:25 | Bareth`kul's Minions How did Serobath make an attack after moving 8 squares? Did he use an action point? Enoch will use Healing Word on Nemeia, followed by Divine Glow and an action-point-fueled, Divine-Fortune-blessed Daunting Light on Serobath (note Enoch's Action Surge). Nemeia will then use Divine Challenge on Serobath, followed by an Infernal Wrath-infused Shielding Smite. (should be a total of +9 base +2 Divine Glow +2 CA +1 Infernal Wrath = +14 to hit) If he's still standing, drop an action point for Enfeebling Strike. |
| #14arealcoolcatJul 03, 2009 20:28:14 | Enoch murmurs a prayer of healing to relieve Nemeia before focusing his attention to Serobath. Evoking the intensity of his god's power through his unholy symbol a flash of light strikes outward bolstering Nemeia's resolve but Serobath's agile instincts enable him to avoid the stinging light. Without pause Enoch lifts his hand high, finishing a final prayer that causes a surge of bright energy to bubble and swell around Serobath, bathing his body in searing light. Nemeia stands tall, emboldened by her compatriot's display and lashes out with her blade, her anger fueling her assault to new heights. The blow catches Serobath unguarded and he takes a nasty wound. Nemeia completes the rush with a lunge backed by surprisingly numbing force, dropping the shifter to one knee and weakening his arms. lonewolf Serobath evades Enoch's first attack but is hit cleanly by the duo's next three and takes 42 damage. He is at 1/43 hit points. Nemeia is no longer bloodied. |
| #15salrantolJul 03, 2009 21:38:37 | Re: Question I'm not sure you got my question--Serobath, according to your map, moved 8 squares *before* Angelic Alacrity's shift. But his speed is only 6, so unless he whacked Wrogan with Aspect of Might, he'd've needed an action point to do it. |
| #16arealcoolcatJul 03, 2009 22:01:43 | Clarification Serobath used Angelic Alacrity and moved two squares before Nemeia interrupted his movement with a charge. I allowed him to continue his movement because I can't find evidence that his power has been stopped. He continued his movement to shift around Nemeia. |

| #19arealcoolcatJul 07, 2009 18:22:42 | Pardon my absence. Been busy with the holiday and internet issues. Hopefully we can finish this tonight. (: Serobath's primal instincts take over as he quickly backsteps and mutters a call under his breath to his deity, attempting to alleviate some of the pain of his wounds and inflict them upon Nemeia, but his efforts are resisted. Wrogan then strides forward and speaks another healing word to patch some of his companion's most grievous injuries. Wishing to end the melee before him Wrogan fires a pair of brilliant lances at Nemeia, catching his squarely in the chest with the first and sending the second skimming over her shoulder. Nemeia's shoulders sag once more but she remains resolute and standing. |
| #20lonewolfJul 07, 2009 18:36:20 | you have to add the extra 1d6 damage from the magical holy symbol for the critical hit. |
| #21arealcoolcatJul 07, 2009 18:40:35 | @lonewolf: Thanks. I meant to roll that and it got lost in my brain somewhere. |
| #22salrantolJul 08, 2009 5:48:37 | |
| #23arealcoolcatJul 08, 2009 14:30:12 | Enoch pauses and allows Nemeia to act first. Nemeia lunges at Serobath with fury in her eyes and connects with a clean overhand slash, invigorating herself. Enoch hold his unholy symbol high and shouts an empowered word of healing on Nemeia. Enoch sends a lance of glowing energy at Serobath but it sails overhead. |
| #24lonewolfJul 08, 2009 14:41:20 | question two hits?? Where does the second hit come from?? invigorating smite hits for 14 damage leaving Serobath at 5hp |
| #25salrantolJul 08, 2009 15:37:14 | Since I didn't see the math adding up either, I poked my head in to your sblock for lonewolf to see how you had Serobath falling. He's right, Serobath should still be standing, so yes, continue with Enoch's attack as posted previously. |
| #26arealcoolcatJul 08, 2009 16:04:55 | lw & Sal I apologize for the amount of errors. I don't know where the "two hits" came from and I had Serobath at 1 hp somewhere in my notes. I'll be more diligent about keeping faithful status reports. Thanks for pointing that out and being good sports. |
| #27lonewolfJul 08, 2009 16:17:07 | action Wrogan goes first. He moves into flanking position, attacks with Avenging Flame and uses another healing word on Serobath. Serobath then attacks with Sequestering strike, but doesnt teleport Nemeia on a hit. If Nemeia falls, Serobath moves to base Enoch. |
| #28arealcoolcatJul 08, 2009 17:14:24 | Wrogan moves to flank Nemeia and lashes out, sword ablaze, and grazes Nemeia who is enveloped in flame. Wrogan speaks another word of healing on Serobath and continues to press Nemeia's defense. Serobath ducks and weaves and lands a solid strike against Nemeia. Nemeia's breath comes hard and her shoulders droop once more. |
| #29salrantolJul 08, 2009 17:43:28 | Bareth`kul's Minions Nemeia will shift 1S, then use her Dwarven Plate, use Lay on Hands on herself, and attack Serobath with Enfeebling Strike. Enoch will use Cascade of Light on Serobath, and I'm seeing now that I failed to list that Cascade of Light deals half damage on a miss, which might be relevant. |
| #30arealcoolcatJul 08, 2009 18:13:54 | Nemeia backs away from her aggressors and her armor glows slightly as she revitalizes herself with an unholy touch. Nemeia strikes Serobath is a staggering blow which numbs his arms and dampens his spirit. Enoch calls down a brilliant display of scouring light upon Serobath and the shifter collapses under the barrage. |
| #31lonewolfJul 08, 2009 18:19:18 | action Wrogan steps west and attacks with healing Strike, giving the healing to Serobath. If he is healed, Serobath will stand up and attack with Overwhelming strike |
| #32arealcoolcatJul 08, 2009 18:28:04 | Wrogan advances on Nemeia, his sword arm aglow, and swings wildly at Nemeia missing her completely. Serobath doesn't move, but seems stable. |
| #33salrantolJul 08, 2009 18:36:48 | Bareth`kul's Minions Nemeia will Divine Challenge Wrogan, declare him her quarry, and use Enfeebling Strike on her. Enoch will switch his mace to his main hand, shift 1 NW, and coup de grace Serobath with Priest's Shield. (note vulnerability from Cascade of Light, which he should have made a save against at the end of his turn). |
| #34lonewolfJul 08, 2009 18:45:57 | tactics looks like a lost cause. Use these tactics unless Serobath rolls a natural 20 on his death save: Wrogan will continue to attack Nemeia with Lance of faith(step away before doing so) and if she is down attack enoch with righteous brand. Use shifting once bloodied. |
| #35arealcoolcatJul 08, 2009 18:55:18 | Nemeia narrows her eyes on Wrogan and swings wide as the shifter bats her attack aside with his shield. Enoch closes in on Serobath and misses a short swing at the unmoving foe. |
| #36lonewolfJul 08, 2009 19:01:17 | see tactics above for the rest of the battle |
| #37arealcoolcatJul 08, 2009 19:03:22 | Wrogan retreats and looses a glowing lance which is deflected by Nemeia's large shield. Serobath remains still but his breathing is steady. The glowing aura dissipates from him. |
| #38salrantolJul 08, 2009 21:24:04 | Bareth`kul's Minions Nemeia will use another Enfeebling Strike on Wrogan. Enoch will attempt to coup de grace Serobath with Lance of Faith, which will provoke an opportunity attack. Also note (you missed this last round, but it didn't matter) that Serobath has a -5 penalty to all defenses for being unconscious. |
| #39arealcoolcatJul 08, 2009 21:50:32 | Nemeia advances toward Wrogan and lashes out with a great strike intended to sap his strength and catches her opponent through a whole in his guard, wounding him deeply. Enoch pierces Serobath with a lance of radiant light, devastating the helpless shifter. |
| #40arealcoolcatJul 08, 2009 22:02:23 | Wrogan's animalistic instincts surface, pumping heated blood through his entire body. Wrogan continues to backpedal and send a brilliant jolt of radiant energy at Nemeia which is aimed far too low and vanishes once striking the ground. Serobath, despite his new wounds, remains stable...somewhat. |
| #41salrantolJul 08, 2009 22:13:39 | Bareth`kul's Minions You missed Nemeia's quarry damage last round. He quarried Wrogan in round 5, it's an "until end of next turn" effect, and he scored a critical hit in round 6, so that's another 6 damage on Wrogan. Nemeia will shift 1NE and use a Divine Strength-boosted Enfeebling Strike on Wrogan. Enoch will again coup de grace Serobath with Lance of Faith. In further rounds: Enoch will keep using Lance of Faith to coup de grace Serobath until he's dead. If he gets back up instead of dying, I will be changing my tactics. Nemeia will continue to pursue Wrogan and use Enfeebling Strike. Once Enoch has slain Serobath, he will walk (provoking an attack of opportunity deliberately) to flank with Nemeia and use Lance of Faith on Wrogan (provoking another attack of opportunity if he didn't take the first). Note that due to Divine Challenge, Wrogan takes 7 damage for each turn he takes an OA on Enoch. |
| #42arealcoolcatJul 08, 2009 22:33:19 | Nemeia presses on and hacks mightily at Wrogan to no avail. Enoch sends another bright lance into Serobath, finally killing him. |
| #43arealcoolcatJul 08, 2009 22:40:08 | Wrogan falls back and sends another glowing lance of energy into Nemeia, hitting the tiefling in the chest hard. |
| #44arealcoolcatJul 08, 2009 23:07:53 | Wrogan, feeling pressured backs away from Nemeia and tries to launch a spear of radiant energy at Nemeia, but couldn't get out of reach of Enoch who misses him with a half-hearted swipe. Wrogan's attack slams into Nemeia and she collapses face first with an "Urkk!" |
| #45arealcoolcatJul 08, 2009 23:38:26 | Wrogan discontinues his volley and steps in to meet Enoch head on. He lashes bravely with his greatsword and catches the other cleric cleanly in the chest, staggering him. |
| #46salrantolJul 09, 2009 5:48:06 | Thanks for pitlording this monstrosity of back-and-forthness. I *really* wanted to win this one, since I think Serobath is probably the scariest character in the 4E CoCo right now. The high defenses and ridiculous accuracy (largely negated in this fight) make him a very imposing foe. |
| #47lonewolfJul 09, 2009 7:32:04 | thanks for running. I made 2 major mistakes without which I would have much better chances: - using oath on Enoch - using avenging flame on the fire resistant Nemeia ah well grats Sal PS: Yes, Avengers are pretty powerful in PvP. Im curious why noone else has created one yet. |
| #48arealcoolcatJul 09, 2009 14:52:52 | I ran an elven avenger in a few games to great effect. After seeing looking over the longtooth shifter though I can see the merits of your choice. Now how to make my own without blatantly copying Serobath. ;P |
