| #2LinkNApr 23, 2009 14:32:19 | Dwarven Misfits You begin in the East block. |
| #3douglas_zuver_dupApr 23, 2009 19:48:34 | I just made this error in my other game, so I will post it here to remind me: According to PHB page 283: “Moving diagonally works the same as other movement, except you can’t cross the corner of a wall or another obstacle that fills the corner between the square you are in and the square you want to move to. You can move diagonally past most creatures, since they don’t completely fill their squares.” Show April and May are holding their longbows. |
| #4whitebaronApr 24, 2009 9:15:58 | misfittting both dwarfs start in the rear of their box, holding warhammer/staff. contingency for staff of defense for whole fight: if any power hits me for above 7 HP, use it and try to block. |
| #5LinkNApr 24, 2009 12:24:49 | Initiative order: Yurin (18) Borin (15) April (14) May (4) Yurin and Borin are up. Neither team is able to see each other. |
| #6whitebaronApr 24, 2009 12:58:01 | you go first... no, you go first! misfittting yurin moves forward, until he either sees an enemy or reaches the middle. same applies for borin. if i see someone: move towards them, curse and shoot eldritch blast. borin stays behind yurin for cover(if possible), and shoots cloud of daggers if he sees just 1 opponent, or drops an icy terrain (preferrably behind them) if he sees both. |
| #7LinkNApr 24, 2009 13:10:51 | Dwarven Misfits Borin's tactics are unclear. |
| #8whitebaronApr 24, 2009 13:23:07 | borin borin moves to one square right of yurin, and drop icy terrain centered on may. (note that they don't have cover against the ranged aoe attack as cover is determined from the origin square.) |
| #9LinkNApr 24, 2009 13:40:02 | Borin steps forward and creates a field of ice around the twins. Neither character is able to keep her footing, and they both slip on the icy floor +3=15;+3=20; damage +3=9, and knocked prone. April and May are up next. There is difficult terrain in a 3x3 box centered on May's square (is there an easy way to show that on the map?) Spring Twins April and May are both at 16/25. |
| #10douglas_zuver_dupApr 24, 2009 14:03:35 | Spring Twins April and May are prone and inside difficult terrain. They both stand up. (Move action) They both use Second Wind (Standard action) +2 to defenses +6 hp healing placing health at 22/25 hp Healing Surges 7/8 They look around if necessary (minor action) April’s Resources used: Second Wind and 1 healing surge May’s Resources used: Second Wind and 1 healing surge |
| #11LinkNApr 24, 2009 14:15:19 | My bad, missed the "knocked prone" bit. Changing previous post to reflect this. Both girls take a moment to get their second wind, stand up, and are once again ready to fight. No change in map from above. Icy terrain will be gone after Borin's turn. Yurin and Borin are up. |
| #12whitebaronApr 24, 2009 14:44:40 | notes: 1) i have an error on my sheet. when i switched wis to con, i forgot to redo my damage wis-based spells. so, thunderwave pushes 2 squares, and cloud of daggers does only 2 damage. 2) you can do maps with 4e areas by using the proper creature size and putting another creature there - example: also, it often comes handy to click the "edit-link" portion of the mapper to reuse the map without having to retype everything. |
| #13LinkNApr 24, 2009 15:03:49 | Huh, never knew about that part of the mapper. This thing's even better now ![]() Yurin and Borin both move forward. Yurin attempts to pull May forward with Diabolic Grasp, and barely hits +4-2+1=13; damage +4, curse , but the damage is enough to knock her unconscious. Borin summons a flaming sphere in front of April. An unusually strong flame lashes out of the sphere, striking her !; 15 damage. She is bloodied. The heat of the flaming sphere burns April +3=7. She goes down, and the Dwarven Misfits are the winners. Rolls are here. Results Dwarven Misfits win, and gain 2 VP. -Borin used Flaming Sphere (daily) Spring Twins lose, and gain 1 VP. -April used 1 Healing Surge -May used 1 Healing Surge |
| #14whitebaronApr 24, 2009 15:08:11 | uuh... grasp targets fortitude. 12>11 so i actually hit. ![]() |
| #15LinkNApr 24, 2009 15:17:27 | You would (and would have KO'd her, 23 damage), if they didn't use Second Wind last turn. 12<11+2 :P |
| #16whitebaronApr 24, 2009 15:18:53 | You would, if they didn't use Second Wind last turn. 12<11+2 :P got another ace in my sleeve... prime shot. ![]() |
| #17LinkNApr 24, 2009 15:31:49 | Oh snap, my bad then. Results of this change: -Yurin attacks May and hits for 23, knocking her unconscious. -Borin's Flaming Sphere attacks April instead, critting her for 15. -Borin's Flaming Sphere does 7 damage to April at the start of her turn, knocking her unconscious. (editing above to reflect this.) Results: Dwarven Misfits win, and gain 2 VP. -Borin used Flaming Sphere (daily) Spring Twins lose, and gain 1 VP. -April used 1 Healing Surge -May used 1 Healing Surge |
| #18whitebaronApr 24, 2009 15:49:42 | @douglas: sorry. Borin d20: 4 rolls, 15.8 average one can't really win against luck. @linkn: you should private initiative and starting boxes in the roller until the fight has started, or roll ini later. while i did post my initial position without looking at the roller, i saw it later on. better to hide it. |
| #19LinkNApr 24, 2009 15:58:39 | Ah, didn't know about the private bit, thanks. Is there a guide or something on how to use the roller and mapper? |
| #20douglas_zuver_dupApr 24, 2009 16:58:11 | ![]() good game |
