| #3salrantolJul 23, 2009 15:26:54 | Forces of Nature Salrantol is holding his wand in his main hand, and his shield and longsword in his off-hand. Gunnga is holding his longsword and his heavy shield. Assuming no contact, both will walk as shown. Gunnga will ready a charge on being able to charge an enemy. Salrantol will ready Misdirected Mark on an enemy being visible within range. |

| #9XaviYagoJul 24, 2009 12:55:28 | |
| #10salrantolJul 24, 2009 15:40:48 | Forces of Nature Actually, Gunnga can't see that square. If only one line from a corner of his square reaches the other square, and that line touches a corner or edge, he does not have LoS. I can find you the reference later (short on time at the moment), but I will have to continue with actions as planned, since Gunnga can't see that square. |
| #11XaviYagoJul 24, 2009 16:04:46 | Forces of Nature You're absolutely right. The image on p.274 clearly shows that. So, where did I ever get the notion that lines running along edges and corners are not blocked? |
| #12sjiggieJul 24, 2009 19:11:09 | |
| #13XaviYagoJul 24, 2009 19:49:53 | Outcasts Abyuuk listens for any signs of approaching foes but cannot hear anything. He starts to back peddle when suddenly Gunnga spots him and charges him with a readied action, inflicing 15 damage with his longsword. Morthos has seen Gunnga attack his teammate. Abyuuk can continue the rest of his turn now. |
| #14sjiggieJul 24, 2009 21:17:47 | Outcast Abyuuk stops moving and attacks Gunnga with bolstering strike. Morthos will move 2W curse Gunnga and attack with Eldritch Blast |
| #15XaviYagoJul 24, 2009 21:59:52 | |
| #16sjiggieJul 25, 2009 6:07:56 | Outcast Yes continue as planned don't forget the extra damage on a critical hit from abyuuk longsword |

| #18salrantolJul 25, 2009 11:56:03 | Gunnga Gunnga will take his second wind and mark Abyuuk. |

| #20sjiggieJul 25, 2009 18:10:32 | Abyuuk Divine Challange Gunnga and attack with enfeebling strike |
| #21XaviYagoJul 25, 2009 19:19:53 | Both Abyuuk issues a Divine Challenge against Gunnga, Marking the orc warden, and follows up with an Enfeebling Strike, but his longsword misses its mark. |
| #22salrantolJul 26, 2009 0:16:03 | |
| #23XaviYagoJul 26, 2009 0:50:24 | Both Salrantol steps up and raises a song of courage, invigorating both himself and Gunnga. He then fogs Abyuuk's mind with Blunder, damaging Abyuuk's will in the process, and sliding the half-elf past Gunnga, and allowing Gunnga to get off another successful hit against Abyuuk. Abyuuk has been bloodied. |
| #24sjiggieJul 26, 2009 6:26:34 | |
| #25salrantolJul 26, 2009 7:09:48 | Forces of Nature Don't forget Gunnga's 4 temporary hit points from Salrantol's Virtue of Valor for bloodying Abyuuk. |
| #26XaviYagoJul 26, 2009 9:52:31 | |
| #27salrantolJul 26, 2009 10:09:25 | Gunnga Gunnga will use Warrior's Surge on Abyuuk [standard], mark him [free], and use an action point for Earthgrasp Strike [standard]. |
| #28XaviYagoJul 26, 2009 10:19:09 | Forces of Nature You knock Abyuuk unconscious with the Warrior's Surge. Continue with Earthgrasp as before? |
| #29salrantolJul 26, 2009 12:34:10 | |
| #30XaviYagoJul 26, 2009 13:07:42 | Both Gunnga strikes at Abyuuk with Warrior's Surge, knocking Abyuuk unconscious, and revitalizing himself in the process. Abyuuk is down and dying, and his condition worsens. Salrantol follows up with a Coup de Grace attempt on Abyuuk, using Misdirected Mark and easily getting past the unconscious foe's defenses. He continues his song of courage and finishes up with a healing word for Gunnga, sliding him one square in the process. Abyuuk remains unconscious and dying. |
| #31sjiggieJul 26, 2009 19:00:37 | |
| #32XaviYagoJul 26, 2009 19:30:06 | Morthos walks in shadowy concealment to the central pillar where he fires a Dreadful Word at Gunnga and hits! |
| #33sjiggieJul 26, 2009 19:34:39 | Question Doesn't the 15 hit it is an attack vs Will which is for Gunnga 14 |
| #34XaviYagoJul 26, 2009 19:39:57 |
|
| #35salrantolJul 26, 2009 21:52:13 | Forces of Nature Gunnga will walk as shown [move], mark Morthos [free], and use Earthgrasp Strike on Morthos [standard]. If Gunnga hits, Salrantol will sustain Song of Courage [minor], use Healing Word on Gunnga [minor], and coup de grace Abyuuk with Misdirected Mark [standard]. If Gunnga misses, Salrantol will sustain Song of Courage [minor], walk as shown [move], and use Dire Radiance on Morthos [standard]. |
| #36XaviYagoJul 26, 2009 22:29:05 | Inspired by Salrantol's song, Gunnga walks over to the concealed Morthos and marks him, and then he knocks Morthos prone with an Earthgrasp Strike, wounding him with the attack. Abyuuk remains unconscious and dying, but his condition remains the same. Salrantol coup de graces the unconscious Abyuuk with Misdirected Mark and kills the half-elf. |
| #37salrantolJul 26, 2009 22:32:47 | Salrantol should hit with that attack. Being unconscious grants CA and gives a -5 penalty to all defenses. With Abyuuk's Reflex at 9 and a +8 to hit, Salrantol only misses on a natural 1, which he did not roll. |
| #38XaviYagoJul 26, 2009 22:34:35 | Correct. I figured for the -5 defenses, but not the CA. I'll readjust and edit above. |
| #39sjiggieJul 27, 2009 7:18:50 | Morthos Morthos takes his second wind |
| #40XaviYagoJul 27, 2009 7:34:41 | Morthos digs deep within himself to find extra endurance and remains prone. Outcasts Morthos uses Second Wind and spends a healing surge to gain 10 hit points and is at 37/40 HP. His defenses increase by +2 until the start of his next turn. |
| #41salrantolJul 27, 2009 12:12:21 | |
| #42XaviYagoJul 27, 2009 12:35:54 | |
| #43sjiggieJul 27, 2009 19:52:15 | |
| #44XaviYagoJul 27, 2009 20:03:20 | sjiggie Did you intend to teleport to a standing position? If so, my gut feeling would be this would NOt trigger Earthgrasp Strike, but I'll have to get a second opnion on that. |
| #45XaviYagoJul 27, 2009 20:09:36 | Both Okay, I reread Earthgrasp and the Stand Up action. I'm going to rule that Teleport to a standing position is not the same as Stand Up, and will not trigger the Earthgrasp stand up damage. |
| #46XaviYagoJul 27, 2009 20:16:25 | |
| #47salrantolJul 27, 2009 22:47:24 | Forces of Nature Gunnga will delay for Salrantol. Salrantol will sustain Song of Courage [minor], use Impelling Force on Morthos, sliding him as shown [standard], and, if Impelling Force hit, walk as shown [move]. If Impelling Force hit, Gunnga will mark Morthos [free] and use Wildblood Frenzy on him [standard]. If not, Gunnga will walk as shown [move], mark Morthos [free], and use Weight of Earth on Morthos [standard]. |
| #48XaviYagoJul 28, 2009 0:24:40 | Both Gunnga delays for his teammate to act. Salrantol continues singing his Song of Courage. He strikes at Morthos with Impelling Force, hitting and bloodying the warlock, and sliding him next to Gunnga. Then he walks to flank Morthos with Gunnga. Gunnga marks his target and follows up with a Wildblood Frenzy. He lands a hit, but misses horribly with the second. |
| #49salrantolJul 28, 2009 5:24:20 | You should fix the map. It shows Gunnga making the movement he was supposed to make if Salrantol missed with Impelling Force. |
| #50sjiggieJul 28, 2009 6:21:23 | |
| #51XaviYagoJul 28, 2009 11:22:14 | Both Morthos shifts one square west and activates his armor which begins to glow with a dark crimson color. He sizes up Gunnga and unleashes an Eldritch Blast. But before the spell fires, Gunnga takes a swipe at Morthos with his longsword, missing horribly. Morthos casts his spell and it hits Gunnga. Then Morthos reaches within himself for another action and fires another Eldritch Blast at Gunnga. This time the spell fizzles. |
| #52salrantolJul 28, 2009 11:43:29 | Forces of Nature Salrantol can make an improvised attack to kick Morthos as an OA. +1 vs. AC for 1d4 damage. Since it appears Morthos activated his bloodcut armor, that won't matter. Salrantol will sustain Song of Courage [minor], walk as shown, provoking a +0 vs. AC for 1d4-1 damage OA [move], and switch his longsword to his main hand [minor]. Gunnga will shift as shown [move], mark Morthos [free], and use Strength of Stone on Morthos [standard]. |
| #53XaviYagoJul 28, 2009 14:22:26 | Both Salrantol keeps up his Song of Courage and moves behind Morthos, allowing Morthos the opportunity to attack, but the marked warlock chooses not to swing his off-hand fist at the bard. Salrantol finishes up by switching his longsword to his mainhand. Gunnga moves into a flanking position and marks Mothos. He then comes down with the Strength of Stone, but the orc fumbled his attack humorously, almost losing the grasp of his longsword from his hairy, sweaty palms. |
| #54sjiggieJul 28, 2009 14:45:43 | Morthos Shift 1SE below Gunnga and attack him with Eldritch Blast. Don't forget the prime shot bonus on his attack rolls |
| #55salrantolJul 28, 2009 14:51:36 | Really sorry about the 1s. Gunnga's only had three in a row. No biggie. :headexplo |
| #56sjiggieJul 28, 2009 14:57:34 | Well Morthos had his share of 1s as well don't complain ;) |
| #57XaviYagoJul 28, 2009 15:01:52 | Q: SJIGGIE Curse first? |
| #58sjiggieJul 28, 2009 15:06:18 | Answer Gunnga should already be cursed at this point. Warlock's curse work a bit different then hunter's quarry. I can curse any number of opponent's during the fight and all remain cursed during the encounter. It's all on page 131 of the PHB and states that a warlock can curse multiple enemies over the course of an encounter |
| #59XaviYagoJul 28, 2009 15:13:59 | Both Morthos shifts south of Gunnga and prepares to cast a spell. Gunnga takes the opportunity to strike and hit Morthos with his longsword, but Morthos's armor appears to resist most of the damage, and the warlock is only slightly injured. Morthos continues to cast Eldritch Blast and hits the cursed Gunnga. |
| #60salrantolJul 28, 2009 15:30:24 | Forces of Nature In post #36, the last place you updated Gunnga's HP, it was listed as 40+4/47. In post #51, Gunnga was hit by an Eldritch Blast, which in the roller shows 14 damage, which would leave him at 30/47. This latest attack would then reduce him to 20/47. Is that accurate? Salrantol will sustain Song of Courage [minor], shifts as shown [move], and readies War Song Strike on Morthos when Gunnga is flanking with him [standard]. Gunnga marks Morthos [free], shifts as shown [move], and uses Weight of Earth on Morthos if War Song Strike hit, or Strength of Stone if War Song Strike missed [standard]. Continue with similar tactics (keeping Morthos flanked and marked, Salrantol will not hesitate to provoke OAs if needed to achieve a flank) unless Gunnga falls, at which point Salrantol will use Hellish Rebuke (with wand), then return to War Song Strike (with longsword). Should Salrantol become bloodied, he will use his Second Wind, then continue with tactics. |
| #61XaviYagoJul 28, 2009 18:28:42 |
|
| #62XaviYagoJul 28, 2009 18:37:20 | Salrantol continues his Song of Courage then shifts next to Morthos. He readies an action and waits for Gunnga. Gunnga marks Morthos and then shifts to flank Morthos. As he does, Salrantol's readied action triggers Salrantol slices at Morthos with War Song Strike, putting everything he had behind the blow. Morthos goes down. The Forces of Nature is the winner! Outcasts Salrantol's War Song Strike hits for 13 damage, taking Morthos to -1. |
| #63salrantolJul 29, 2009 5:59:06 | Don't forget to post it in the Battles thread so you get credit for finishing! |
| #64XaviYagoJul 29, 2009 8:35:21 | The Forces of Nature win, and gain 2 VP! Gunnga used 4 healing surges. Salrantol used Song of Courage. The Outcasts lose, and gain 1 VP! Abyuuk used nothing. Morthos used 2 healing surges, and 1 action point. @both:Thank you for your patience during my first CoCo Pitlord experience. Still getting used to the mapper, roller and Pbp conventions, and also the whole concept of optimized play. In all there were eight (8) critical attack rolls: three 20s and five 1s. |
| #65salrantolJul 29, 2009 16:11:47 | Thanks for running the fight. You missed Salrantol's Song of Courage in the summary. |
