For what its worth - the features that you are commenting about for the minotaur did not really come into play here. Goring Charge - while nice on paper - is a subpar attack power. It deals a little better than half the damage of a charge with a weapon (1d6+4 vs 1d12+5), has a worse attack bonus (+8 vs +10) and the side effect (knocking the target prone) is not terribly useful (since Gundmir is a fighter already and helps keeping people from running away with combat challenge; also because standing up doesn't provoke). The only reason why I have him use it each fight is to get myself familiar with all of the mechanics of the game that I can.

As for oversized - the fact of the matter is I chose a non-optimal weapon for Gundmir. Yes, oversized can be a big factor later on, but since he's using a subpar weapon to begin with, it will take longer to come to a useful fruition.

Lastly, with regard to the combat challenge - no it doesn't stop shifting. However, if you did try to shift, that would still grant me a basic melee attack, which would stop you if it had hit.

Personally I think the biggest advantage that worked for me here was being able to force you to make a choice between receiving OAs and attacking or not attacking at all. Since Gaglack has his feat and Gundmir his Combat Superiority - letting me take OAs is just going to hurt you.
