| #2salrantolApr 23, 2009 15:03:29 | Sehanine's Stalkers You are in the west box. |
| #3LinkNApr 23, 2009 15:06:33 | Sehanine's Stalkers Sethala starts in the front end of the box. Aventhressa starts nearby, behind her and around the pillar. Sethala will have both longswords equipped, Aventhressa will have daggers. |
| #4billiamApr 23, 2009 20:27:47 | Knights of the Order I start Joeda on the furthest north spot next to the pillars, while Joeby Juan is the furthest south spot next to the pillars. |
| #5salrantolApr 23, 2009 20:42:50 | Stalkers No LoS |
| #6LinkNApr 23, 2009 20:45:27 | Sehanine's Stalkers When my turn comes up, if enemy is still hidden, both characters will single move as below, then stealth. Aventhressa will ready deft strike on the first enemy in range, Sethala will do the same with Charge. If enemy location is known, I'll change tactics. |
| #7billiamApr 23, 2009 23:03:06 | Joeda Joeda starts by moving up 5 squares, then holds his standard action. |
| #8salrantolApr 24, 2009 5:07:22 | Knights of the Order Still no LoS. What now? |
| #9billiamApr 24, 2009 10:45:40 | joeda Move to northeast corner of closest pillar. |
| #10salrantolApr 24, 2009 13:43:47 | |
| #11LinkNApr 24, 2009 13:53:50 | Salrantol I'm assuming, then, that initiative is Joeda > My characters > Joeby? Assuming still no enemy contact, movement will be as follows: Again, single-move and ready. Both characters will attempt a stealth check if able. If Aventhressa goes first, she'll delay until after Sethala. If Sethala sees an enemy in the south or east boxes, I'll have alternate tactics for Aventhressa. Edit: Both characters will try an active Perception check if they don't see anyone. |
| #12billiamApr 25, 2009 14:46:01 | Joeby Juan Joeby moves just south of the same pillar. |
| #13salrantolApr 25, 2009 15:12:49 | |
| #14billiamApr 26, 2009 13:34:54 | knights The second option, and Joeda summons a flame sphere 1 space north of the pillar he started behind. |
| #15salrantolApr 26, 2009 13:49:38 | |
| #16billiamApr 26, 2009 20:00:19 | joeda Now that you mention it, I'll ready a move action for the flaming sphere |
| #17salrantolApr 26, 2009 20:17:17 | Joeda On what condition? |
| #18LinkNApr 26, 2009 20:50:18 | Salrantol I'm assuming the pink thing labeled "Flaming Sphere" is supposed to be Joeda? Regardless, Sethala will mark Joeby and charge him (she's just barely in range). Assuming Aventhressa moves next (you never said initiative order), she'll move to the first stop and use Deft Strike against Joeby, moving to the second stop. |
| #19salrantolApr 26, 2009 21:38:33 | LinkN I'm assuming the pink thing labeled "Flaming Sphere" is supposed to be Joeda? No, the pink thing labeled "Flaming Sphere" is a flaming sphere. I'm sorry to have confused you. I know "Flaming Sphere" and "Joeda" look a lot alike. |
| #20LinkNApr 26, 2009 21:45:45 | Salrantol No change in tactics, then. Was just confused because nothing was said about him casting a flaming sphere. Also, don't usually see people use pink for something other than a character. Edit: Also, if I see Joeda, tactics remain unchanged. |
| #21billiamApr 26, 2009 22:06:33 | joeda Condition is when someone moves within movement range. |
| #22salrantolApr 27, 2009 5:31:08 | LinkN No change in tactics, then. Was just confused because nothing was said about him casting a flaming sphere. Also, don't usually see people use pink for something other than a character. And how would you have known about the flaming sphere when both it and Joeda were out of sight? Also, pink is the fourth color down, so since you still don't know where Joeda is, it's the default for a 1-space object (remember, mapper effects are still set up for 3E areas). |
| #23LinkNApr 27, 2009 12:15:49 | Salrantol Forgot to mention, have Aventhressa use her minor for an active perception check. Also, can she tell where Joeby came into view from? Was it from around the cross-shaped pillar, from the pillar next to the flaming sphere, or somewhere else? |
| #24billiamApr 27, 2009 12:49:05 | knights Joeby uses healing word (7+1d6 hp) on himself divine challenges and bolstering strikes +7 vs ac 1d8+4 3 temp hp) Sethala. Joeda will move the flame sphere just south of Sethala and attack (+5 vs reflex 2d6+5) with it. |
| #25salrantolApr 27, 2009 15:27:45 | Stalkers Forgot to mention, have Aventhressa use her minor for an active perception check. Roll made, nothing learned. Joeby Juan came from behind the pillar next to where the Flaming Sphere currently is hopping. |
| #26salrantolApr 27, 2009 17:05:17 | Knights I don't think you can move the Flaming Sphere out of your line of sight. Where do you want Joeda to move before moving the Sphere? |
| #27LinkNApr 28, 2009 1:28:04 | Stalkers Basic idea of how my next turn should go: Sethala will use Evasive Strike to attack Joeby and move into the position on the map. She will use Elven Accuracy if the attack misses. Assuming Joeby's still standing, Aventhressa will move forward and use Deft Strike to move into flanking for SA damage. If Aventhressa's attack misses and Joeby's bloodied, she'll spend an action point for Piercing Strike. Tactics are unchanged regardless of Joeda's or the sphere's location, unless the sphere ends up one square south of Joeby. In which case, Sethala will move as shown below using Evasive Strike, and Aventhressa will flank with Sethala's new position. Also, Aventhressa will use her minor to draw a new dagger (she threw one), and Sethala will use her minor for an active perception check if Joeda's still hiding. |
| #28billiamApr 28, 2009 12:40:38 | joeda 1 square southeast. |
| #29salrantolApr 28, 2009 16:18:00 | Sethala sees the flaming sphere bear down on her and settle next to her. Stalkers Sethala takes 6 damage at the start of her turn. She is at 21 HP. |
| #30LinkNApr 28, 2009 19:28:43 | Can I see a map of where everything is currently? |
| #31salrantolApr 28, 2009 20:16:38 | Wow, how'd I forget to post that? |
| #32LinkNApr 28, 2009 20:27:21 | Stalkers Since I'd like to finish this up quickly... Sethala will attempt to get into melee with Joeda, preferrably behind him so Aventhressa can move up and flank on her turn. If he doens't move, Sethala will move to one square north of him and Aventhressa will go one square south. Sethala will quarry Joeda and use Twin Strike if she can get into melee, or Charge if she can't. Aventhressa will use Dazing Strike as soon as she can flank with Sethala, after that she'll use Sly Flourish in melee, or will Deft Strike into flanking if that's the only way to get CA. Neither character is particularly concerned with provoking attacks of opportunity, and will spend a free action to laugh at Joeda if he even tries it. That will be my strategy for all turns until I say otherwise. |
| #33salrantolApr 29, 2009 9:35:21 | Knights Billiam, please post your tactics for the remainder of the fight, so LinkN can get his characters updated and ready for the deadline. A good outline I can follow is all I need. For future fights, since you're not on the board as often as many of the rest of us, please post (a) more specific movements, ideally using the mapper and (b) some basic contingencies for future actions, such as "If I still don't see any enemies, do X," or "Unless the enemies close to melee, keep using power Y," so that people aren't waiting on you. |
| #34salrantolApr 29, 2009 16:45:33 | Joeda bounces his flaming sphere through Sethala to get into a position to defend himself. Sethala is bloodied. Stalkers 17 fire damage. Sethala is at 4 HP. Then, at the start of her turn, she takes 8 and is at -4 HP. |
| #35LinkNApr 29, 2009 16:58:30 | Sheesh, stop using those loaded dice... |
| #36salrantolApr 29, 2009 16:59:38 | Joeda moves the flaming sphere up to attack Aventhressa, but misses. Stalkers At the beginning of her turn, Aventhressa takes 8 fire damage. She is at 14 HP. |
| #37salrantolApr 29, 2009 17:00:08 | Sheesh, stop using those loaded dice... It's "making up for" all the 1s my own characters rolled.... |
| #38salrantolApr 29, 2009 17:02:57 | Joeby Juan dies. Joeda moves the flaming sphere up and attacks Aventhressa, missing again. Stalkers At the beginning of her turn, Aventhressa takes 8 fire damage. She is at -2 HP. |
| #39LinkNApr 29, 2009 17:05:16 | Wow... And here I was thinking 2v1 was a shoe-in, especially for melee vs caster. Dang you and your crits... :P |
| #40salrantolApr 29, 2009 17:11:04 | Wow... I had the same thing in my Underdark Yakuza! fight. Automatic damage >> All |
| #41LinkNApr 29, 2009 17:18:21 | More like crits>all... |
