| #2LinkNJul 30, 2009 1:11:06 | T-Rex Your team starts in the West box. |
| #3templer10Jul 30, 2009 1:36:44 | t-rex rex start at 29,15 or equivelent with javelin in hand, thia at 28,17 or equivelent with bow in hand. assumin no LOS, rex single moves clockwise and ready to throw javelin on sight without improved cover (kix priority if possible). Thia single move clowise to behind rex and ready action to Two fanged strike on whichever of them is visible without improved cover (same target as rex is a priority). elven accurecy on a miss, action point to do twin strike on same target. |
| #4XaviYagoJul 30, 2009 12:49:37 | CoCo Puffs The girls start in the box as shown, both armed with spears. Trix will delay for Kix, if needed. Kix will spend a move action and use a stealth check to hide in her current position [move], then she will move 2 squares as shown [move] and use an active Perception check [minor]. Trix will move depending upon what Kix sees. |
| #5LinkNJul 30, 2009 13:12:08 | |
| #6templer10Jul 30, 2009 14:17:16 | t-rex continue moving and readying as before |
| #7LinkNJul 30, 2009 18:05:21 | Waiting on Trix's actions... T-rex For future turns, I highly suggest you use the CoCo Mapper, as that makes things much easier on the pitlord. It also makes it much harder for me to accidentally put your position wrong on the map. If you need help understanding how to use it, go ahead and toss me a PM. |
| #8XaviYagoJul 30, 2009 18:45:27 | CoCo Puffs Trix readies an Eldritch Blast upon seeing first enemy without superior cover[stan]. |
| #9LinkNJul 30, 2009 18:58:48 | |
| #10templer10Jul 30, 2009 19:58:18 | t-rex have thia point out trix to rex (Free), move to 12,25, querry him (minor) - and if iam seeing the map correctly - trix has cover but not improved cover - so Two fanged strike him, action point, twin strike - note prime shot bonus apply. Reroll first miss with elven accuracy. note - that iam reading 18 squeres between thia and trix - so no range penalty (the map reads 21 squeres since it's calculated by using 3.5 method which counts each second diagnoal as 2 squeres. in case iam wrong and they do have improved cover, do same movement as mentioned above, querry and then continue movement to 18,18 |
| #11LinkNJul 30, 2009 20:48:40 | Rex moves out and looks around, but doesn't notice the enemy team. Thia, however, is much more perceptive and spots them easily. She points them out to Rex, then quarries Trix and fires several arrows at her (Two-fanged Strike Elven Accuracy, Action Point, Twin Strike). All of the arrows hit, and Trix goes down. CoCo Puffs Trix takes 7, 15, 2, 6, and 2 damage, and is at -7 HP. |
| #12XaviYagoJul 30, 2009 22:29:00 | LinkN Although Thia would not know it, the invisible and hidden Kix would provide additional cover to Trix, so Trix would probably have Superior Cover during that attack. Didn't know if you accounted for that. |
| #13LinkNJul 30, 2009 23:52:01 | CoCo Puffs I scanned the PHB section on cover, and while characters can grant cover to allies, there's nothing in there about giving them superior cover. So, unless someone. can point out where characters can grant superior cover to allies, I can't rule that they do. Regardless, Kix's actions are done. |
| #14XaviYagoJul 31, 2009 0:11:39 | LinkN
|
| #15LinkNJul 31, 2009 0:32:58 | mr0bunghole No worries. The game assumes that a character doesn't fill his (or her) entire square, so they don't act like a normal obstruction for determining cover. |
| #16templer10Jul 31, 2009 3:56:13 | t-rex Linkn - could you please write the results of the to hit roll/dmg so we dont find out later ther was mistake. also - did you have to use elven accurecy on the attacks there? (i read it as 1d20+7+1(prime shot)-2 (cover) vs ac 16) have rex move to 18,18 (double move), dropping javelin (free), and drawing greatsword (minor), have thia move to 17,18 (single move) and ready action to twin strike someone not unconscious on sight without improved cover. |
| #17LinkNJul 31, 2009 11:14:16 | T-Rex All die rolls can be found in the CoCo die roller. The rolls for this fight specifically can be found here. Yes, you did use Elven Accuracy for that attack (that's why it was listed with the other powers you used). Admittedly, I made a minor mistake with the roller (Thia's fourth attack also hit), but nothing important will change as a result. Regardless, after Rex moves, he auto-spots Kix. Changes in actions? |
| #18templer10Jul 31, 2009 13:36:00 | t-rex have rex use his last move point to move to 19,18. have thia move to 18,18 (she moves 7), querry kix, and twin strike him. |
| #19LinkNJul 31, 2009 13:41:49 | Rex and Thia both move to the central pillar area, and auto-spot Kix. Thia quarries the drow and tries to fire a pair of arrows at her, but both miss their mark. Kix is up. |
| #20XaviYagoJul 31, 2009 15:39:48 | LinkN Just noticed Eyebite shows wrong defense on sheet. It should be vs. Will, not Reflex |
| #21LinkNJul 31, 2009 16:12:04 | Kix moves north and creates a cloud of darkness. Rex and Thia are up. |
| #22templer10Jul 31, 2009 16:53:32 | t-rex Rex double moves to 26,19 - rex moves to thia moves to 20,21 and ready action twin strike on sight without improved cover. |
| #23LinkNAug 01, 2009 0:42:01 | Rex steps out from behind the pillar and is immediately struck with a Dreadful Word from Kix. He doesn't seem to be hurt bad, and continues along his path. Thia moves around the pillar and sets her sights on where she last saw Kix. Kix is up. T-rex Rex takes 14 damage and is at 15/29 HP. |
| #24XaviYagoAug 01, 2009 1:59:07 | CoCo Puffs Kix will move two squares as shown [move], still gaining the benefits of her Darkness, and make a Stealth Check [end of move] in an attempt to use cover to Hide from her foes once Darkness ends at the end of her turn. She will curse Rex [minor], then attack him with Eyebite [stan] (+1 prime, +2 CA). Then she will AP to use Curse of the Dark Dream against Thia [stan], again gaining the benefits of darkness during the attack (+2 CA, -2 cover). If the attack hits, she will slide Thia as shown. |
| #25LinkNAug 01, 2009 2:36:16 | CoCo Puffs Do note that any attack will cancel the effects of being hidden. You'll still be invisible for both attacks (and thus gain CA from them), but you'll need to either move after attacking, or not attack at all, in order to remain hidden after the darkness ends. Does this change your actions at all? |
| #26XaviYagoAug 01, 2009 3:39:19 | no. |
| #27LinkNAug 01, 2009 10:55:57 | Kix fires out an Eyebite at Rex and a Curse of the Dark Dream (Action Point) at Thia from within her darkness Both attacks hit, and both Rex and Thia are bloodied. The Dark Dream also forces Thia to stumble backwards. T-rex Rex takes 12 damage and is at 3 HP, Thia takes 21 damage and is at 4 HP. |
| #28templer10Aug 01, 2009 15:51:12 | t-rex If i red the power description correctly isnt Kix invisible to thia until start of next turn? iam assuming it does - if it doesnt - my actions will change so let me know please. iam assuming here that the init is Rex>thia Rex will delay until thia's turn. Thia will move to 25,18 and ready action to Twin strike on sight at Kix - since the power description say the invisibility is until start of next turn, as soon as kix's turn is up thia will be able to see and teh ready will trigger. Rex will first use Lay on hands on thia (minor) which will now be in range, move to 27,17 - attack with paladin's judgment (and allow thia to spend a healing surge regardless of hitting), then action point to attack with warrior's surge (which if hits let rex spend a healing surge to heal himself) |
| #29LinkNAug 01, 2009 15:57:11 | T-rex Kix hit Rex with the eyebite, not Thia. Thia can see the warlock just fine. I'm assuming that changes your actions quite a bit... |
| #30templer10Aug 01, 2009 16:30:56 | t-rex ah crud - misread it. iam assuming here that the init is Rex>thia Rex will delay until thia's turn. Thia will move to 26,17 query him if needed (dont remember if it was done before) and twin strike at kix (note prime shot apply). Rex will move to 27,17, use his LOH on thia (minor) restoring 7 hp, use second wind himself, use action point to ready action to Paladin's judgment on kix on sight - since the power description say the invisibility is until start of next turn, as soon as kix's turn is up Rex will be able to see and the ready will trigger (thia will use the healing surge obviously). iam assuming that doing LOH doesnt provoke OA and that the ready action will work as intended - if iam reading the rules wrong or something, let me know and i will possibly change stuff. |
| #31LinkNAug 01, 2009 17:50:50 | T-rex Thia can't move there within a single move action, unless she runs. Again: I HIGHLY recommend using the mapper. If you type in coordinates, I will not be held responsible if I misinterpret them. |
| #32templer10Aug 01, 2009 18:15:15 | t-rex I am using the mapper - the coordiantes are the mappper's coordiantes. i missed the fact she was slided. have thia move to 25,18 before the twin strike and rex should do the LOH before the move - all else remains the same. note that thia moves 7. |
| #33LinkNAug 01, 2009 18:31:55 | Thia moves up to Kix and fires another pair of arrows. One misses, but the other hits thanks to her prime shot positioning. Rex casts Lay on Hands on Thia, uses his own second wind, then moves up to where he last saw Kix and gets ready to hit her when the Eyebite's effect wears off. His swing also hits the warlock, bloodying her and rejuvenating Thia. Thia is no longer bloodied. T-rex Thia recovers 12 health and is at 16 HP; Rex recovers 7 health and is at 10 HP. |
| #34XaviYagoAug 01, 2009 19:51:00 | CoCo Puffs Kix shifts east [move] and fires Eldritch Blast [stan] at the cursed Rex, taking advantage of Prime Shot. |
| #35LinkNAug 01, 2009 21:08:54 | mr0bunghole It's my personal school of thought that a readied action can be a response to any observable event. I may bring it up in the courtroom for some discussion later; such a debate isn't exactly the focus of a separate thread fight, after all. Still, I did double-check this in the FotW thread; you can read the sblock now. |
| #36templer10Aug 02, 2009 4:43:15 | t-rex rex bases kix use divine strength (minor) to get +4 on the attack and attacks with warrior's surge (spend healing surge on hit). Thia moves 1 square south and twin strike. |
| #37templer10Aug 02, 2009 16:01:02 | t-rex - in case it's needed iam going to be with no computer access for next 2 days, so in cast it's needed, after the round specified above, have thia continue with twin strikes, rex with radiant smite then valiant strikes - he will challenge if possible, and if thia gets hit again he got 2 more Lay on hands to use - have thia move up to him to not waste rex's movement if at all possible. |
| #38LinkNAug 02, 2009 16:36:33 | Rex walks up to Kix and swings at the warlock with a Warrior's Surge. The attack connects solidly, and Kix goes down. The fight is over, and T-Rex wins! Results up soon. |
| #39templer10Aug 02, 2009 16:38:08 | Yay - Ty for pitlording and on to level 3. |
| #40LinkNAug 03, 2009 17:32:04 | T-Rex wins, and gains 2 VP! Rex used Lay on Hands, an action point, Paladin's Judgment, and two healing surges. Thia used an action point and a healing surge. CoCo Puffs loses, and gains 1 VP. Kix used an action point and Curse of the Dark Dream. Trix used nothing. Let me know if I missed anything. |
