| #2lonewolfJun 25, 2009 3:18:05 | starting position & actions Both start with bows in hand. The first acting twin will delay for the second one so that they act together. Both move out as shown and ready Twin Strikes on enemies without superior cover. I will most likely use disruptive Strike or Yield Ground on enemies attacks, so please wait for a confirmation there. |
| #3whitebaronJun 25, 2009 5:18:23 | problem a readied action is an immediate action, so you don#t have one if you ready. also, i#ll have to get a non-metagaming contingency if i should use those immediates. |
| #4salrantolJun 25, 2009 7:43:07 | |
| #5lonewolfJun 25, 2009 9:32:23 | answer noted on those readied actions / immediate action conflict. just use the readied actions in that case. |
| #6whitebaronJun 26, 2009 9:24:20 | Initiative: Finduilas 23 Vratta 20 Findrod 17 Chirakka 5 Round 1 All players move out, but only Finduilas escapes pinpointing. It is now Finduilas' turn |
| #7lonewolfJun 26, 2009 10:25:37 | action As noted above, Finduilas delays in the first round until its Finrods turn. => its Vrattas turn |
| #8whitebaronJun 26, 2009 18:26:09 | ok, it is now Vratta's turn |
| #9salrantolJun 26, 2009 18:40:46 | |
| #10whitebaronJun 26, 2009 18:49:29 | sal you know that you can charge from where you stand? both could charge to 1 SW of Findrod. |
| #11salrantolJun 26, 2009 19:30:18 | clarification make that "on seeing someone they can charge." I don't want to run out into some sort of trap that Finduilas has set up. Let them come to me and get run over. |
| #12whitebaronJun 27, 2009 3:26:26 | Round 2 Vratta moves out, and again gets pinpointed. Findrod's up |
| #13lonewolfJun 27, 2009 3:40:57 | |
| #14whitebaronJun 27, 2009 10:30:37 | Finduilas moves out and quarries Vratta, then shoots a Hunter's Bear Trap at her. Chirakka is unable to see Finduilas before he shoots, but Vratta sees him and elegantly dodges to the side. @lonewolf: reroll the natural 1 on beartrap? @salrantol: vratta is to close to charge. trigger chirakkas readied action after the attack or not? |
| #15lonewolfJun 27, 2009 11:14:24 | yes use reroll. |
| #16whitebaronJun 27, 2009 11:17:47 | Finduilas arrow bounces off the hedge, and miraculously hits Vratta in the back (elven reroll hits). salrantol so... execute charge? (Vratta takes 24 damage) |
| #17salrantolJun 27, 2009 12:12:25 | Duelettes Chirakka will pass on the charge. Vratta will use her Dwarven Armor as a free action. Then go ahead and resolve Finrod's turn. |
| #18whitebaronJun 27, 2009 12:22:00 | uh-oh... lonewolf just pointed out to me, that vratta actually has LoE to Finduilas one square earlier. so - if you want to, Vratta can charge. |
| #19salrantolJun 27, 2009 12:27:01 | Duelettes Definitely. |
| #20whitebaronJun 27, 2009 12:39:11 | ok, so forget what was written above for round 2. Round 2, continued Finduilas moves silently towards Vratta, but Vratta hears him and charges. (hit) Finduilas thus moves one step back and shoots once (nimble strike, miss) then strikes again with Hunters Bear Trap (elven reroll, as above). Vratta curses a bit, and fiddles with her armor, and seems to be a bit less injured. lonewolf 18 damage from the charge, Finduilas is at 32. |
| #21salrantolJun 27, 2009 12:43:42 | question 53-24=29+13=42, no? |
| #22whitebaronJun 27, 2009 12:44:55 | @sal: yep, calculation error. |
| #23lonewolfJun 27, 2009 17:06:41 | actions Finrod shifts 1 NE, quarries Vratta and attacks with Twofanged Strike followed by AP Twin Strike. Dont use elven precision here. Finrod will use Disrutive strike on Vrattas next attack. Use elven precision if necessary. If he is hit, Finduilas will use Yield Ground to shift 2 NW. |
| #24whitebaronJun 28, 2009 3:36:11 | Round 2, continued Findrod shifts to gain a better shot, and releases a flurry of 4 arrows (two-fanged: hit, miss; twin strike: miss, hit) salrantol vratta takes 24 damage and is at 18, and still taking 5 ongoing+slowed until saved |
| #25salrantolJun 28, 2009 7:12:27 | Duelettes Chirakka will double walk as shown [move, move], use Inspiring Word on Vratta [minor], and use an action point to ready Hammer and Anvil on Finduilas on Vratta moving into position [standard] Vratta will declare Finduilas her quarry [minor], walk as shown [move], triggering Chirakka's readied action, and attack Finduilas with Steel Serpent Strike [standard]. |
| #26whitebaronJun 28, 2009 8:01:38 | @lonewolf: this is the situation now. still use actions from finduilas/findrod? chirakka moves first and readies something. vratta then moves and triggers the ready, then attacks himself. will need to know what you want to do in order to resolve your previously posted actions. |
| #27lonewolfJun 28, 2009 14:31:36 | answer Finrod uses disruptive Strike on Chirakkas attack. If any attack hits Finduilas he uses Yield Ground to shift 2W. |
| #28whitebaronJun 28, 2009 17:09:03 | End of Round 2: Chirakka moves out and readies. Round 3 Vratta moves into flanking Chirakkas ready triggers. Findrod uses disruptive strike, which triggers an OA. Chirakka's OA hits. Findrods disruptive hits Chirakka's Hammer and Anvil hits as well, and would be granting Vratta a melee basic attack, but: Finduilas uses Yield ground and escapes to the West, and is now bloodied. current map: Vratta has moved only 1 square, and has standard and minor left. Salrantol Vratta is at full. Chirakka lost 16 HP and has 28 left. |
| #29salrantolJun 28, 2009 21:02:41 | |
| #30whitebaronJun 29, 2009 12:36:23 | salrantol uhm... Vratta is slowed. ![]() So i'll just have her charge Finduilas. |
| #31lonewolfJun 29, 2009 13:05:52 | |
| #32whitebaronJun 29, 2009 15:14:48 | Findrod shifts away, quarries Chirakka and readies a twin strike. Finduilas shifts away (CC:miss) quarries Chirakka and shoots a simultaneous twinstrike with his brother. in that Barrage of Arrows, Chirakka is wounded deeply and sinks to the floor. (first death save: failed) salrantol Chirakka takes 11+22 and is now at -5 |
| #33salrantolJun 29, 2009 15:33:04 | Duelettes Walk to Finduilas and take him apart with Rain of Blows. Note that he's still Vratta's quarry. |
| #34whitebaronJun 29, 2009 15:38:53 | Vratta moves up to Finduilas, and takes him down with the first strike in a flurry of blows {Rain of Steel}. lonewolf first attack hits, deals 15, finduilas is at 0, prone and helpless/dieing. second attack hits due to those factors, and he takes another 16 and is now at -15 |
| #35lonewolfJun 29, 2009 17:06:19 | |
| #36whitebaronJun 30, 2009 10:39:26 | Findrod attacks Vratta with twin strike, hitting once. he then "stealthily" moves to the east. (since Vratta knows where he went and could hear him with passive perception, i let the dot on the map stand where he actually moved, since Vratta can reach him with that information anyway.) salrantol Vratta takes 5 ![]() |
| #37salrantolJun 30, 2009 11:07:28 | Hold off on these tactics. I just noticed an error in the roller. Vratta's basic attacks deal 1d10+8 damage, but her Rain of Blows attacks only deal 1d10+6. This may affect Finduilas. |
| #38salrantolJun 30, 2009 11:20:59 | |
| #39lonewolfJun 30, 2009 11:27:56 | |
| #40whitebaronJun 30, 2009 16:55:41 | yeah, you're correct. this fight will obviously make it to week two, sorry for that. should not have taken those fights telin assigned me without asking... |
| #41whitebaronJul 03, 2009 12:01:58 | So, back to this fight. Finduilas IS still standing, so he activates his armor, takes second wind and tries to move away. To bad for hin though, that Vrattas OA hits him and stops his movement. Finduilas is still badly bloodied and adjacent to Vratta. lonewolf 2+12-8=4 since finduilas is still living, do you want to move away with Findrod or stay where he was? |
| #42lonewolfJul 03, 2009 13:24:52 | answer Finrod moves 2E to break LOS. Finduilas will use disruptive strike on Vrattas next attack. |
| #43whitebaronJul 03, 2009 13:40:29 | ok, so thats the new map before Vratta's turn, Finduilas is bloodied, Findrod moved towards the east (exact location shown since he could not move to another square without getting into LoS again and stealth was to low anyway.) Vratta's turn. |
| #44salrantolJul 03, 2009 15:27:29 | |
| #45whitebaronJul 04, 2009 9:09:29 | Vratta moves out, dodges Finduilas' OA, and moves towards Findrod. He also dodges the disruptive strike from Finduilas. His Steel Serpent strike hits, slows, and disables the opportunity for Findrod to shift, and he is also now bloodied. Chirakka gets worse. lonewolf Findrod takes 14 damage and is now at 22 |
| #46salrantolJul 04, 2009 11:57:58 | Duelettes If he tries the "provoke an OA with a ranged attack so I can move away without one" game, take the OA anyway. He can't get too far away. |
| #47lonewolfJul 04, 2009 19:56:37 | actions Finduilas move 4N and attacks with Twin Strike. Finduilas activates his Bloodcut armor and attacks with Twin Strike as well. If Vratta takes the OA, he will move 1NE after attacking. |
| #48whitebaronJul 05, 2009 4:09:16 | Finduilas moves and attacks with yet another twinstrike. (both missed) Findrod activates his bloodcut armors ability, and attacks with a twin strike (one hit), then moves away. Vrattas OA missed. salrantol vratta takes 18 damage and is now at 30. |
| #49salrantolJul 05, 2009 7:25:15 | |
| #50whitebaronJul 05, 2009 8:03:22 | Vratta moves, and kills Finduilas, shifting after him into his space (tide of iron) Chirakka is stable. |
| #51lonewolfJul 05, 2009 10:55:38 | |
| #52whitebaronJul 05, 2009 14:19:53 | Vrakka has no idea where her opponent is, and it is now her turn. Finduilas gets worse. lonewolf 22+12=34 |
| #53salrantolJul 05, 2009 15:02:25 | |
| #54whitebaronJul 05, 2009 15:21:30 | Vratta moves somewhere to the west of Findrod. He can hear her, but not pinpoint. Chirakka dies. Finduilas gets worse again. Findrod's turn. lonewolf more to the northwest, but you don't pinpoint |
| #55lonewolfJul 05, 2009 15:25:48 | actions stay in position and spend a healing surge to recharge bloodcut armor. After that find Vratta and attack with Twin Strikes till the end. Accept OAs and use Bloodcut armor as soon as Finrod is bloodied again. |
| #56whitebaronJul 05, 2009 15:30:46 | It's Vrattas turn again. salrantol you still have no clue where he is, except that he was to the east of you previously vratta is at 30+13=43 |
| #57salrantolJul 05, 2009 21:39:15 | Duelettes Go back and coup de grace Finduilas with a basic melee attack. |
| #58whitebaronJul 06, 2009 1:02:19 | Vratta kills Finduilas for good... Findrod moves out and twin strikes the Bugbear, hitting once. salrantol 11 damage, Vratta is at 32 |
| #59lonewolfJul 06, 2009 3:25:36 | small change instead of accepting OAs from ranged attacks, shift away before firing. => Vratta doesnt get her wisdom mod on those free attacks. |
| #60salrantolJul 06, 2009 5:28:29 | Duelettes Walk as shown, then use Tide of Iron to push Finrod as shown and shift into his original square. From here on out: Take all provoked OAs and Combat Challenge attacks. If possible, use Tide of Iron as shown here to place Finrod into a position from which he cannot shift to a space unthreatened by Vratta. If that is not possible, charge for the +1 to hit unless he hasn't moved away, in which case use a melee basic attack for the +2 to damage. If Vratta gets a chance at combat advantage, use Predatory Eye (highly unlikely, since I don't expect Finrod to try and run, but if he does, make it hurt). |
| #61whitebaronJul 06, 2009 12:04:28 | round 9: Vratta uses tide of Iron to corner Findrod. (34-12=22, bloodied) Thus cornered, he decides to stay where he is and just fire away. He activates his armor, and fires twin strikes at Vratta(OA:9-10armor=0), hitting once (32-17=15, bloodied) round 10: Vratta just pounces away with a basic attack, hitting again (13-10armor=3, 22-3=19) Findrod strikes again(OA:miss), misses twice, and realizes (actually, the pitlord realized) that he has an elven reroll left (crit), and Vratta falls dead to the ground. EET wins with a lot of luck... sorry salrantol about that reroll, but i figure it would be unfair to not reroll once i realised that it's there. |
| #62salrantolJul 06, 2009 15:58:06 | You missed Vratta's Dwarven Armor and Chirakka's action point in the summary. Thanks for pitlording. |
