| #4douglas_zuver_dupJun 12, 2009 9:19:36 | Please go ahead with a separate game thread, using tactics for my side of the battle as I am busy this week. Thank for running the game, I look forward to reading thru it later on. Final Tactics I expect my opponent to lead with his fighter, trying to pin down the twins while the Warlord hangs back and heals. Due to the Twin inability to make melee attacks, this battle will be difficult to win. (They need to purchase Melee Training (Wisdom) for these type situations.) Both starting with longbow in hand. Use Perception constantly during the opening rounds. Use the armor power when bloodied by an opponent and the other opponent has not taken an attack yet. Combine actions points and elven accuracy with Hunter’s Quarry to try to greatly damage one of the foes quickly in the beginning rounds. The action point should be used to create a second attack during a round. This will likely be the fighter who will in turn by healed by the Warlord. Ready Daunting Light to trigger with normal cover and wait for opponent to come to use. Use Elven accuracy to reroll if necessary. Save Beacon of Hope then Divine Glow for when they close with us and the Twin can no longer back up. Activate the Cloak Power to help against AoO type attacks. This is the Twin's last battle, so don't save any resources for later. See default tactics for more details. |
| #5lonewolfJun 15, 2009 9:14:16 | duelettes tactics First off, thanks for pitlording! Notes: Note the disclosure in the prison: Both characters have their daily powers listed as used; they are not. Also, Chirakka still lists her terror halberd's item power, which she no longer has. I will fix it once the fight and rewards are up. Once flanking, as long as it won't cost an attack, use Hunter's Quarry and Predatory Eye. Focus attacks on whichever twin first gets attacked until she's dead. D. E. A. D. Dead. Use action points to follow up Second Winds with an attack (unless weakened). Keep momentum going. If Vratta is within a walk of flanking (or is prone somehow) on Chirakka's turn, Chirakka will use Knight's Move to get her into position. Note that the Twins' tactics include shifting away before attacking, so they'll be provoking Combat Challenge attacks like nobody's business. Use a coup de grace with an at-will attack whenever a twin is dying. Based on their tactics, they'll probably be attacking Chirakka. This means she'll have to use all her powers quickly. Basic idea will be to use lots of flanking and get Lead the Attack off quickly, which, if it hits, means Vratta will need a 4 to hit (a 2 with CA). Don't let your dice suck. Start with Vratta in front towards either exit of the starting box, and move out to positions which will allow good visibility for us but not for the enemy. See the separate thread posting for this fight for an example (or any Duelettes fight in the hedge). Ready a charge (note Vratta's +2 to speed). Repeat this routine as necessary until contact is made. Once we're near whichever poor sap dares approach, try to flank. Don't worry about OAs when trying to flank, except that, if possible, it will be Vratta who provokes them. Get flanking no matter what. Vratta will use Steel Serpent Strike as soon as possible when flanking, then Rain of Blows after that. Chirakka will use Lead the Attack on her first attack with flanking. She'll follow that up with Hammer and Anvil and the largely superfluous Warlord's Favor. After that, she'll focus on Commander's Strike, or Wolf Pack Tactics if needed to restore a flank. Vratta, after using up her encounter powers, will use Cleave if both foes are adjacent, Reaping Strike if only one is. Healing Contingencies: If Vratta has 24 HP or fewer: Chirakka will use Inspiring Word on her. If Chirakka has 20 HP or fewer: Chirakka will use Inspiring Word on herself. If Vratta is weakened and has 30 HP or fewer: She will use her Second Wind without a follow-up attack. Once not weakened, use an action point for an extra attack. This overrides the above contingency regarding Inspiring Word, if applicable. If Chirakka is weakened and has 26 HP or fewer: She will use her Second Wind without a follow-up attack. Once not weakened, use an action point for an extra attack. This overrides the above contingency regarding Inspiring Word, if applicable. If Vratta has 30 HP or fewer and Chirakka has used both Inspiring Words or is down: Vratta will use her Second Wind. If she has already used that, she will use Comeback Strike. If Chirakka has 26 HP or fewer and has used both Inspiring Words: She will use her Second Wind. Looks like I don't need the extension, Thanks again for pitlording, Salrantol |

| #16douglas_zuver_dupJun 16, 2009 22:35:37 | Wow! I did not think that they could win. This is April and May last battle of this cycle, and they actually advance to 5th level. I guess I had better work on figuring out how to level them up. I am tempted to avoid Consecrated Ground to keep it from being banned, but then again, somebody has to test it out on the battlefield... ![]() |
