| #1post_ironicJun 18, 2009 12:51:10 | This is a separate fight thread for arealcoolcat and Sjiggie. You know the score. Archies Anathema
|
| #2post_ironicJun 18, 2009 12:54:41 | You begin in the... Archie North block. |
| #3sjiggieJun 18, 2009 15:54:05 | |
| #4arealcoolcatJun 18, 2009 15:57:02 | Archie Archibald is holding a longsword and light shield. Bigby is holding a dagger and short sword. Positions: |
| #5post_ironicJun 19, 2009 11:49:00 | Glory Travock delays after Sidios, you move as shown. |
| #6arealcoolcatJun 19, 2009 15:06:45 | Archie Archibald will move out south, ready a charge on the first enemy spotted, and make a perception check. Bigby will move out west stealthily, ready a throwing dagger at the first enemy spotted, and make a perception check. |
| #7post_ironicJun 19, 2009 15:30:24 | Archie You move as shown and ready. Still no LOS or sign of your opponent. |

| #11post_ironicJun 21, 2009 23:53:50 | Forgot a readied action. Glory |
| #12arealcoolcatJun 22, 2009 1:36:09 | Archie Archibald and Bigby have switched places on your map. Not sure what happens when Travock moves out from cover and into Archibald's LOS 8 squares away. Does he charge when/if he comes into range? |
| #13post_ironicJun 22, 2009 1:57:22 | Crap. I switched two characters by mistake. Friends shouldn't let friends drink and post. I'll fix this tomorrow morning. |
| #14sjiggieJun 22, 2009 16:00:52 | So what is the status now? |
| #15post_ironicJun 23, 2009 11:43:21 | Sorry guys, I'm going to need tactics to finish this fight. Please send them ASAP. |
| #16sjiggieJun 23, 2009 11:50:51 | Before I can write them I need the updated status of the fight right now. After that I will send them ASAP |
| #17post_ironicJun 23, 2009 12:12:40 | Map actually looks like this, I swapped Archie and Bigby: Also, Bigby threw a dagger at Sidios (Archie could not charge) which missed, so no damage done to Sidios. Tactics please. arealcoolcat To answer your question: Archie will charge if and when his ready is triggered, thus whenever an opponent comes within his 5 square charge range. |
| #18sjiggieJun 23, 2009 12:26:54 | Tactics This round finish Sidios movement like this and quarry Bigby then ready a twin strike after Travock attacked Bigby. Travock will move around to flank Bigby and attack with Warlord's Favor (use predatory eye on this attack). He will probably get charged by Archi but continue as planned. If Bigby is still standing Travock will use Commander's Strike to grant Sidios another attack with the bonus from Warlord's Favor. If this brings Bigby down but not death Sidios uses an AP for a CDG. After Bigby is down try to get Sidios in a flanking position around Archi with Travock. Sidios quarry's Archi and attacks with two-fanged strike travock uses Commander's strike or white raven tactics to shift Sidios in flanking position if needed. When flanking position is established Travock AP for another commander's strike. Continue with Twin Strike/Commander's Strike till Archi is dead. Use Inspiring Word when either Sidios or Travock gets bloodied but in the case of Sidios wait till he has activated his longtooth shifting which he will do as soon as he gets bloodied. Use second wind when bloodied and no Inspiring Words remain. |
| #19arealcoolcatJun 23, 2009 17:13:41 | Tactics Thanks to whoever picks this up! First round: Bigby and Archibald will try to set up flanking against Travock drawing the least amount of opportunity attacks possible, but I would prefer Archibald to take one over Bigby. Bigby will use Torturous Strike with Predatory Eye once in flanking position. Archibald will use Wolf-Pack Tactics to set up flanking or Viper's Strike if unneeded. Subsequent rounds: Bigby will draw a dagger continue with Riposte Strikes against Travock until he is down. Archibald will use Hammer and Anvil against Travock if he is not bloodied or healed last round. Rounds after Travock is downed: Bigby will continue with Riposte Strikes against Sidios, shifting toward Archibald after each attack. Archibald will use Inspiring Word if either character has lost more than 10hp, priority to Bigby. Archibald will coup de grace Travock with Viper's Strikes. Once Travock is dead: Bigby will switch to Piercing Strikes. Archibald will move into flanking drawing opportunity attacks if needed and use Viper's Strikes. Inspiring Word any time a character loses more than 10hp. Second Wind if bloodied. If Bigby falls: Archibald will Inspiring Word to bring him back. Archibald will use Second Wind if he's taken more than 10 damage. Bigby will use Second Wind on his next turn and shift into a corner if possible. If Bigby dies or Archibald is unable to Inspiring Word any long, continue with Viper's Strikes against Travock until he is down then Sidios until match ends. If Archibald falls: Bigby will continue with Riposte Strikes against Sidios until he is down then switch to Travock. Try to avoid being flanked. Second Wind if bloodied. Notes: Bigby will use his short sword for encounter power and his dagger for all at-wills this match. Inspiring Word priority goes to Bigby. If unable to use Predatory Eye first round, use it the first chance available. Don't use Second Wind until Travock is down. |
| #20LinkNJun 24, 2009 23:17:10 | Alright, apparently I'll be taking over this fight in post's place. If you guys want to finish it with tactics we can do that, otherwise we'll just ignore those tactics (for now, at least) and continue with a PbP fight. Up to you guys. |
| #21arealcoolcatJun 24, 2009 23:42:31 | I wouldn't mind finishing it PbP if Sjiggie is up for it as well. Either way, I'm just glad someone offered to finish it. Thanks for stepping up! |
| #22sjiggieJun 25, 2009 5:09:21 | Let's forget the tactics for now and try to finish it on time with PbP. Glory Since I still need to finish my turn here it is: This round finish Sidios movement like this and quarry Bigby then ready a twin strike after Travock attacked Bigby. Travock will move around to flank Bigby and attack with Warlord's Favor (use predatory eye on this attack). He will probably get charged by Archi but continue as planned. If Bigby is still standing Travock will use an AP for Commander's Strike to grant Sidios another attack with the bonus from Warlord's Favor. If this brings Bigby down but not death Sidios uses an AP for a CDG. |
| #23LinkNJun 25, 2009 14:03:26 | Alright, give me one moment, I need to scroll through the thread and figure out what's already happened... Edit: Heh, looks like a whole lot of nothing happened. I'll have to make a new entry in the roller for the fight, however. My roller will just start with round 1, with Sidios being first in initiative (the rest of the characters will continue in normal order). |
| #24LinkNJun 25, 2009 14:18:39 | Sidios and Travock try to surround Bigby, but before Travock can get into position, he's charged by Archibald. The attack misses, but now Travock has an enemy warlord blocking his path. Move, Quarry, and readied attack from Sidios, partial move from Travock. Glory Travock has moved 3 squares, and can still move another 3. |
| #25sjiggieJun 25, 2009 18:09:00 | |
| #26LinkNJun 25, 2009 18:29:14 | Archibald swings at Travock as he tries to slip by, and manages to get a solid hit, bloodying the warlord. Critical! Glory Travock takes 12 damage and is at 12/24 HP. Would you still like to use Predatory Eye for the attack? |
| #27sjiggieJun 25, 2009 18:30:35 | Glory Nope use the minor for an inspiring word on self |
| #28LinkNJun 25, 2009 18:46:14 | Ignore the 1d6's on the damage rolls, they were from previous versions of this round's actions. Travock shouts an inspiring word at himself, and is invigorated by the technique, and no longer bloodied. He then charges at Bigby, then in a rush of energy he also swings with a Warlord's Favor, but both attacks miss. Sidios then uses a Twin Strike on the rogue. Both attacks hit, and Bigby is bloodied. Archie Bigby takes 20 damage and is at 4/24 HP. |
| #29arealcoolcatJun 25, 2009 22:38:58 | Archie Bigby will shift south, use his Second Wind, and action point (and heal 3 hit points from Archibald's Inspiring Presence!) to ready a Torturous Strike with his large dagger and use Predatory Eye when Archibald is in flanking. Archibald will move to flank Travock, safely avoiding opportunity attacks and triggering Bigby's readied attack, then use Inspiring Word on Bigby. Archibald will then use Viper's Strike on Travock (if he falls to Bigby's attack, it'll be for a coup de grace) provoking an opportunity attack from Bigby if he shifts next turn. |
| #30LinkNJun 26, 2009 0:05:51 | Bigby shifts south and uses a Second Wind, uses his Predatory Eye, then spends an action point to ready a Torturous Strike. Archibald moves around to flank with Bigby, and Bigby strikes at Travock, downing the enemy warlord. Archibald uses an inspiring word on Bigby, then hits Travock with his own attack, killing him. Glory Travock is now dead. |
| #31sjiggieJun 26, 2009 10:23:02 | Sheesh LinkN couldn't you roll a little bit better for Travock |
| #32LinkNJun 27, 2009 0:07:15 | Sidios shifts next to Bigby and uses a Two-fanged Strike. The first attack connects solidly Critical!, but the second attack misses. Bigby is bloodied. Archie Bigby takes 18 damage and is at 3/24 HP. |
| #33sjiggieJun 27, 2009 8:37:46 | Glory AP for Twin strike on Bigby please |
| #34LinkNJun 27, 2009 10:07:50 | Sidios uses an Action Point and attacks Bigby with a Twin Strike. Both attacks hit, and Bigby goes down. Archie Bigby takes 9 damage and is at -6 HP. |
| #35arealcoolcatJun 27, 2009 16:06:03 | |
| #36LinkNJun 27, 2009 16:12:38 | Archibald revives Bigby and moves to flank with the now-conscious rogue. He tries to use a hammer and anvil attack on Sidios, but his attack doesn't connect. Archie Bigby recovers 7 HP. Also, I'm assuming you mean to move as above, to avoid opportunity attacks, yes? |
| #37sjiggieJun 27, 2009 17:24:16 | Glory Attack Bigby again with Twin Strike and shift 1W |
| #38LinkNJun 27, 2009 18:10:56 | Sidios tries to swing at the prone rogue. One attack hits, but the attack isn't enough to kill Bigby. Sidios then shifts out of flanking position. Archie Bigby takes 5 damage and is at 2/24 HP |
| #39arealcoolcatJun 27, 2009 19:32:45 | |
| #40LinkNJun 27, 2009 22:03:57 | Bigby stands up, and gets ready to attack. Archibald moves around Sidios and uses Wolf Pack Tactics to help Bigby get into position. Both characters swing at Sidios, and the combined attacks are enough to bring down the ranger. Results up soon. |
| #41LinkNJun 27, 2009 22:16:48 | Archie's Anathema wins, and gains 2 VP! Archibald spent nothing. Bigby spent three healing surges and an action point. Glory Through Cunning loses, and gains 1 VP. Sidios spent an action point. Travock spent a healing surge and an action point. Let me know if I missed anything. |
| #42sjiggieJun 28, 2009 9:46:26 | LinkN question now I go through the fight. Sidios has 30hp and the two attacks in the last round only deal 28 damage according to the roller and he didn't take any damage in the fight till that point so he has 2 hp remaining. |
| #43arealcoolcatJun 28, 2009 16:23:01 | I can't find the dice history for this fight. Anyone mind directing me to a link? |
| #44LinkNJun 28, 2009 16:27:06 | Dice rolls here. Archibald's attack in round 4 was a critical, so it deals max (12) damage instead of the 9 that was rolled for it, Sjiggie. |
| #45arealcoolcatJun 28, 2009 16:57:18 | Thanks LinkN. It was an interesting fight filled with lots of 20s. Great tactical movement Sjiggie. The dice were just on my side this time. |
| #46sjiggieJun 28, 2009 18:40:30 | Missed that, thanks for the run LinkN. It was a good fight too bad I missed a on a few important attacks. |
