News and Whatnot

This is an 'on' week for ECL10+.

Very busy week for me last week - so I didn't get nearly as much board activity done as I would have liked. That said, we seem to be cruising along just fine.

4e CoCo is coming along nicely - I wouldn't be surprised if it is activated very soon - stay tuned!

New Rulings - Courtroom

  • Daylight vs Control Light - Treat the Control Light power as a [Darkness] spell when used to reduce light in an area.

Current Discussions
  • Nondetection - is the list given in the spell exhaustive of its power?
  • Obsidian Steed (Figure of Wondrous Power) - what's its CR? (for prebuffing and for rewards)
  • Metamorphic Transfer - what are its limitations?

The Council Decisions/Revelations
  • Ego Whip is Banned. Characters with it or with specific countermeasures can apply to the Training Hall for free changes.
  • Clarifying vocal and somatic components with non-standard casters - Telepathy is out, Vocalization is not valid for spellcasting, any language capability is. Somatic are still up for discussion.
  • EL7 list for monster fights hasn't had a huge amount of discussion, but as of now will be used for monster fights.
  • Adjustments to the EL3 monster list. Hasn't had any comment that I saw - but for now we'll roll with it.
  • Adjusting the ally "penalty" to an actual penalty - looks like allies are going to stay unchanged for the time being.

  • None


Idle Conversations

These are topics that have died down but had nothing come of them. We may reinvest time into them should they continue to be an issue.
  • Council - Mechanics of the "Awaken" spell is currently being discussed in the council.
  • Council- Delay rules are still being discussed.
  • Courtroom - Sauro wishes an elder decision on using an intelligent cohort as a mount. [and what tricks/training it requires]
  • Council - There is a discussion on how quickly you should be able to aquire ethereal equipment.
  • Courtroom- The rules for Ride and Handle Animal are under discussion.

I'm sorry, but I will not be able to run the ECL3 fight between Quelenian (Yitzi) and Telia (Stormwind). Schoolwork has caught up with and passed me, and I need a lot of time this week. I may be able to run it on Monday night, but I can't guarantee that. Is there any chance someone can pick up the slack for me?

@Telin : I'm really sorry for dropping this on such a rough week. I didn't realize there was a shortage of pitlords =P

Yitzi can't pitlord a fight with one of his characters involved, but I can.
Send me their tactics (either you or both the gladiators) and I'll run the fight ;)

That said @vasja - real life comes up. If you can't run a fight due to things coming up - doing exactly what you did is great. The only thing I can suggest beyond that is to post the character sheets and tactics so that whoever picks up the fight can just go on with it rather than volunteer and then wait for you to send them.
