| #1YitziJun 11, 2009 17:40:27 | Might as well get started...I think we can work on the trust system with regard to not looking at the wrong information. Zevox&spectators You begin in the northwest; where do you want to start, and what will you do for the opening rounds? |
| #2zevoxJun 11, 2009 18:28:01 | Starting info. Default position will do. Leave Istyar behind. Hold a powerstone of fly and a potion of invisibility. Buff: 1 - 13 pp Defensive Precognition (+5 AC/saves). 2 - Freedom of Movement (7 pp). 3 - Energy Adaptation (7 pp) 4 - Fly (stone). Draw stone of Vigor [ML 4]. 5 - Vigor (stone). 6 - Invisibility (potion). Start flying out (at 10' height, for the hell of it), looking for foes. Status: 165 hp AC 41 (Touch 26, Flat 35) Saves +21 across the board. 127 pp. Resist 30 all elements. Immune to anything that would impede movement. Flying (60' good), invisible. |
| #3YitziJun 11, 2009 21:03:58 | I'll put them up in the battles thread then. |
| #4YitziJun 11, 2009 22:52:29 | TelinArtho&spectators Illyria casts magic fang on her mount, Kraegin transfers his tattoo to the roper, Aquin uses and stows his rod, and the roper taps the tattoo. Waiting on info for which order you want to move out in, and in which direction. |
| #5TelinArthoJun 12, 2009 9:15:57 | Kraegin and company Move out clockwise. |
| #42YitziJun 15, 2009 16:16:42 | TelinArtho&spectators Illyria readies to disrupt Istima with a flame strike. The roper readies to attack Istima on sight. Kraegin casts invisibility purge and |
| #43zevoxJun 15, 2009 16:23:03 | Istima Freedom of Movement should let me automatically get loose from the tendril. Edit: Wait, how did the Roper hit me in the first place? In the roller I see a result of 19. Istima's touch AC is 26. Even if he was flat-footed, it's 20 (10 +1 size +4 deflection +5 insight), and he'd get soft cover from all the creatures between him and the Roper to boot. And damn, so he did think to use Invisibility Purge. Oh well, nothing for it now. But now I know where everyone is, save any summons. 5' step north-west and enact my plan. Quickened Dispel Psionics (14 pp, +15 modifier) and Recall Death (DC 26 will save-or-die), both on Aquin. Defensively, of course. I auto-succeed on that (and most concentration checks in general). Then regain focus (hopefully he died, else I'll have an AoO to deal with there). |

| #45zevoxJun 15, 2009 17:56:36 | Istima Of course I don't want to waste a standard action on that. But the Roper's entry doesn't say that takes a standard action. In fact, it doesn't say if it takes an action at all. I kinda figured it would just happen when I take my 5' step. Especially since that will take me out of the reach of his strands. As for defensive precog, huh. I could have sworn that insight bonuses apply when flat-footed. Just like Monk wisdom bonuses. Weird. |
| #46YitziJun 15, 2009 18:42:44 | Zevox But since Escape Artist never takes a free action (and if it did, you could take 20 on it), and the 1 minute that most EA takes is far too long to make sense), it's probably either a standard action like a grapple or an FRA like escaping many other effects. Anyway, |
| #47zevoxJun 15, 2009 18:46:10 | 10' would be my guess. That seems to be the standard for large bipeds - see Giants, Ogres, Genies, etc. 5' reach when large tends to be quadrupeds. But why does it matter? Istima manifests defensively automatically, so no AoO for Aquin. |
| #48YitziJun 15, 2009 18:52:20 | 10' would be my guess. That seems to be the standard for large bipeds - see Giants, Ogres, Genies, etc. 5' reach when large tends to be quadrupeds. Read your instructions to me again... This third time he concentrates, Istima does so more than usual, and Aquin is able to swipe with a talon, which Istima barely blocks with his shield. TelinArtho, your turn. |
| #49zevoxJun 15, 2009 18:55:36 | Istima ...crap. You mean he made his Recall Death save, and that was an AoO for restoring my focus. Damn it, and here I thought a 75% chance of success was more than enough... |
| #50TelinArthoJun 15, 2009 20:08:30 | Kraegin and Co Aquin - 2 attempts to start a grapple. Roper - full attack. Illyria - targetted dispel on Istima. Shadowsmoke will advance on Istima as much as possible, attack if possible. (Probably only possible if Istima is grappled). Kraegin - psychic turmoil centered on Istima's location. |
| #82zevoxJun 17, 2009 15:25:42 | Note I did ask to stand up too. Means the Nightmare gets an AoO. |
| #83YitziJun 17, 2009 16:01:05 | Zevox done. |
| #84TelinArthoJun 17, 2009 16:06:34 | Kraegin and Co Bah - fail the save by 1! Okay - well yeah - go for the grapple. Wait - was the AoO for a grapple? Also - double moving Roper should be able to move 10ft per round - not just 5ft. |
| #122YitziJun 22, 2009 11:53:10 | ACtually, I don't think Aquin actually based, so he can be dragged; the result after dragging looks like this: It still can't get past Aquin, since it only drags 10' and that's not enough to pass him. And it's not grappled, merely latched on to (so he doesn't lose his DEX bonus, it isn't stopped by freedom of movement (although he can still move), etc). The roper full attacks again, and another strand hits. The other two attack Istima, and Aquin hits once for Zevox 19, so down to 136 |
| #123TelinArthoJun 22, 2009 16:29:07 | Kraegin and Co Since I'll be offline for a bit, you can assume the following: 1. Shadowsmoke will fly to move to set up flanking for Aquin after Istima has been dragged and then ready to attack after Aquin has attacked. If he doesn't need to move to maintain flanking, he will delay for Aquin to attack. 2. Aquin will full attack from flanking. He will frenzy now that he is damaged. 3. Roper will continue dragging Istima. 4. Illyria will now come out of hiding to heal Aquin/Shadowsmoke. 5. If Istima does break free somehow, seek to reestablish it, but otherwise, Shadowsmoke/Aquin should work to cornering the goblin in a hallway. Shadowsmoke would overrun to get to the other side and such. |
