| #2crazyartificerJun 17, 2008 3:34:06 | Hi Callix, sorry for the delay. Please choose a map for the fight and roll initiatives, then we can start ![]() |
| #3callixJun 17, 2008 5:41:09 | Don't worry about it. Cavern OK? Yin: Init 16. Yang: Init 17. Box 2. Azuvir: Init 12. Baldovius: Init 12. Box 4. Yang moves toward his enemies, but retains some cover from the statues. (Stealth 11) Yin skulks behind a statue, obviously waiting for something. (Stealth 11) I've got a specific action and trigger in mind, but it's fairly tactically sensitive. If you don't mind, we can just keep going. If you want it declared, just say so. EDIT: I should clarify. Yang wields his greatsword. Yin has a shuriken in her main hand, and her short sword in her off hand. The two weapons have the same attack bonus at normal range. Azuvir's turn. |
| #4crazyartificerJun 17, 2008 6:18:25 | Azuvir moves and draws his orb. Let me know if something triggers or I can proceed ![]() Please use the editable map below, as it is easier to keep track of movements. |
| #5callixJun 17, 2008 6:36:46 | Azuvir moves and draws his orb. Let me know if something triggers or I can proceed Nothing yet. Also, Yin doesn't have LOS to that square. Baldovius is up. |
| #6crazyartificerJun 17, 2008 6:53:48 | Baldovius double moves and spots Yang. I think he spots Yin as well (passive insight 12 vs stealth 11), but I've yet to read that part of the rules, so feel free to correct me. |
| #7callixJun 17, 2008 6:58:58 | Baldovius double moves and spots Yang. You take a -2 penalty to Perception checks if your target is outside 10 squares, and Yin has a Long range of 12 squares. Since the ready triggers on LOS, it depends on where he moves. If he tries to close with Yang, Yin might get the drop on him (Passive Perception 15). If you head north instead, then you see her and there's no CA. Your call. |
| #8crazyartificerJun 17, 2008 7:10:20 | Don't know why, but it looks like I didn't post the map earlier. Now it's more like it, see a post above. |
| #9callixJun 17, 2008 7:19:41 | LOS is blocked to 10 squares; you make the Perception check. As Baldovius rounds the corner, a shuriken whistles out of the darkness. Fortunately, he sees Yin before she throws it, and it bounces harmlessly off his shield. Yang advances toward Baldovius, and whips his greatsword in a sweeping arc (Steel Serpent Strike). He hits Baldovius and deals 15 damage. Baldovius, winded by the blow, can't shift or move more than 2 squares next turn. Also, he's marked. Azuvir is next. |
| #10crazyartificerJun 17, 2008 7:32:14 | Azuvir moves and casts Ray of Frost on Yang. if nothing more happens, Baldovius marks Yang (Divine Challenge), then Lay on hands on himself (+10 hp) and attempts a Bolstering Strike on Yang (if successfull +2 hp) |
| #11callixJun 17, 2008 7:45:11 | The readied action shifts the initiative; Yin acts before Baldovius. Azuvir conjures a bolt of frost that strikes Yang for 5 damage and slows him. Yin launches a burst of unnatural light at Baldovius. He dodges it. Frustrated, Yin moves around to flank Baldovius. This provokes an AoO, but Yin gets +4 AC from Artful Dodger, and Combat Challenge will give him -2 and provoke an AoO from Yang. Your call if you want to take it. |
| #12whitebaronJun 17, 2008 7:49:59 | note: combat challenge gives you a basic attack, not an OA (formerly known as AoO) so all bonusses and feats apllying for opportunity attacks won't work on the combat challenge attack, and neither does the class ability. => you can make an OA against the other player also if you get the chance to. |
| #13callixJun 17, 2008 7:54:22 | note: combat challenge gives you a basic attack, not an OA (formerly known as AoO) Thank you; I might just respec Yang after this fight, as this means he has basically wasted his feat. Anyway, let's just keep going. Your call: get an attack on Yin at -6 and take an attack from Yang, or let me set up a flank at no cost. |
| #14crazyartificerJun 17, 2008 8:04:35 | Let him go, but change actions this way: Baldovius Minor) Lay on hands (+10 hp) Standard) Cloud of Darkness Move) move behind Yang, on the pool side. |
| #15callixJun 17, 2008 8:15:52 | Let him go, but change actions this way: Yang: 23/28 HP Baldovius: 21/26 HP Sure. Baldovius conjures a cloud of darkness, drawing it about himself. He calls upon his healing powers, then moves around Yang. Yang shifts back, assesses where the centre of the cloud is, then readies Brutal Strike on the square in the direction the cloud comes from if he gets covered by it again. Complete with verbal warning. Azuvir next. The cloud of darkness blocks his LOS to Yang. In oter news, I'm going to bed. I'll check this in the morning. |
| #16crazyartificerJun 17, 2008 8:31:43 | Ok. I may have some problems posting in the following days, my girlfriend seems to need help with her exams. However I meant to move Baldovius in (14,12). Azuvir moves to (14,7) and if he can see Yin he targets Yin with a Cloud of Daggers, otherwise he simply waits for the cloud to dissipate. |
| #17callixJun 17, 2008 15:47:19 | Steel Serpent Strike was only last turn. Baldovius wass slowed, so he could only move 2 squares. Azuvir advances. Yin presses herself flat against the wall, and escapes his notice, so he simply waits for the cloud to dissipate. Note that you can't delay one action; I'll let you retcon a ready once you can post again. We've only been playing for less than a day; there's no real rush. Yin siezes the opportunity, draws a shuriken, and flings it toward Azuvir. It catches him in the face, severely wounding him. Sly Flourish Sneak Attack for 19. Baldovius' turn. |
| #18crazyartificerJun 18, 2008 2:53:23 | Right, I forgot. Nice chain of action, it seems you already won .Ok, set it so Azuvir readied a CoD to hit Yin when visible. Then have Baldovius move to 14,11 and ready a Bolstering Strike on Yang. |
| #19callixJun 18, 2008 3:23:31 | Right, I forgot. Nice chain of action, it seems you already won Sure. Azuvir's readied Cloud of Daggers hits for 7. As Baldovius advances, Yang starts his strongest form. With the advantage of vision, Baldovius sidesteps it easily. Baldovius responds with a fervent prayer and a mighty stroke, hitting Yang for 11. Baldovius gains 2 temporary HP. Azuvir: 3/22 HP Baldovius: 23/26 HP. Yin: 15/22 HP. Yang: 12/28 HP. |
| #20crazyartificerJun 18, 2008 3:30:42 | Ok, don't forget 3 more damage for Yin at the beginning of his turn from the cloud |
| #21callixJun 18, 2008 4:04:28 | Ok, don't forget 3 more damage for Yin at the beginning of his turn from the cloud Actually, Yin would modify her turn, and move to (10,9) instead of drawing another shuriken. I got interrupted for dinner. Azuvir's turn next. He has LOS to both Yin and Yang. And 3 HP remaining. |
| #22callixJun 18, 2008 6:51:53 | As an additional note: Current initiative roster: Azuvir. Yin. Yang. Baldovius. |
| #23crazyartificerJun 24, 2008 3:58:34 | Azuvir casts Icy Terrain on Yang, then moves on the other side of the black "square". Sorry for the delay, I've been very busy with Uni |
| #24callixJun 24, 2008 5:22:44 | Azuvir calls forth a freezing blast; Yang is knocked down by its force, and the cavern floor is covered in ice. He takes 8 damage, then Azuvir moves behind a "pillar" Yin moves behind Baldovius, and delivers a cunning sword stroke that both seriously wounds Baldovius and sends him flying off into the pool. He takes 16 damage. Yang stands up, moves out of the icy area, over to where Azuvir is hiding, and with a rush of adrenaline, delivers a Reaping Strike. He spends an Action Point, and hits for 4 damage. Azuvir is down. Baldovius' turn. He's in the middle of a pond. Azuvir: -1/22, Dying. Baldovius: 7/26 Yin: 15/22 Yang: 4/28 No problem; I've had exams myself. Hope it all worked out. |
| #25crazyartificerJun 24, 2008 5:54:48 | Yep, all went fine, thanks. What about yours? Baldovius marks Yang and then use Paladin's Judgement on Yin, moving out of the pool (towards Yang). |
| #26callixJun 24, 2008 6:01:14 | Yin steps around behind Baldovius and attempts a Sly Flourish. She misses horribly. Yang pushes to end the fight. His sword catches on one of Baldovius' pauldrons. There is a crunch as his collarbone snaps, then the ring of steel on stone, as Baldovius falls to the ground, dying. Reaping Strike crit. Good game. |
| #27crazyartificerJun 24, 2008 6:11:10 | Nice one.. are we going for another one? I'd say keep dailies and AP used like in a 4FC. This time please use the playtest/playtest account so I can roll dices as well ![]() CA |
| #28callixJun 24, 2008 6:20:48 | If you like. You choose the map. One issue: I need to change Yang's feat to Elven Precision, since Heavy Blade Opportunity doesn't work with Combat Challenge. Also, Yang's Brute Strike has the Reliable keyword; it doesn't expend on a miss. So Yang is down an AP, but otherwise I'm at full strength. I'll use the Playtest account in future. Sorry. Round 2.... FIGHT! |
| #29crazyartificerJun 24, 2008 6:33:22 | Let's try it in the arena. That's fine. I'm keeping my two guys as they are, I want to test them a bit further before making changes. So.. is this correct? Baldovius used: 1 daily, 1 lay on hand use Azuvir used: nothing Yin used: nothing Yang used: 1 AP. Initiative order Azuvir 21 Yang 20 Baldovius 17 Yin 13 Starting boxes: A&B: 1 Y&Y: 4 |
| #30callixJun 24, 2008 6:39:46 | I only see one Lay On Hands (of 2/day) for Baldovius, not his Daily Prayer. My side is good. It's Azuvir's turn. Start boxes? |
| #31crazyartificerJun 24, 2008 6:52:03 | I thought you used Paladin's Judgement for Baldovius on last round of the previous fight and missed. Am I wrong? |
| #32callixJun 24, 2008 7:01:03 | I thought you used Paladin's Judgement for Baldovius on last round of the previous fight and missed. Am I wrong? Whoops... Gimme a sec... I missed that entirely. It hits and drops Yang. Yin ducks behind cover, attacks, and misses. She draws another shuriken. Your turn. Yin: 15/22 HP Baldovius: 7/26 HP |
| #33crazyartificerJun 24, 2008 7:11:50 | Sorry to interrupt again, it was on Yin, while Baldovius marked Yang. The idea is to prevent Yang from killing Azuvir unpunished. 15 vs 14 still hits, you need to roll damage. 3d8+4 (and average damage might kill Yin) |
| #34callixJun 24, 2008 7:15:58 | 14. Yin survives, but attacking will kill her. Unfortunately, Yang still gets his crit in the next round, dropping Baldovius. Now shall we start the next fight? Baldovius is -1 LoH, -1 Surge, -1 Daily. Yang is -1 AP. |
| #35crazyartificerJun 24, 2008 7:30:17 | Sure. I'll post Azuvir actions a bit later, as I need to do a few things now. |
| #36crazyartificerJun 24, 2008 8:11:54 | Azuvir begins moving and spots Yang. He immediately takes cover behind a rock. |
| #37callixJun 24, 2008 15:56:14 | Yang moves out, keeping his distance from Azuvir for now. |
| #38crazyartificerJun 25, 2008 6:23:31 | Baldovius move as well |
| #39callixJun 25, 2008 6:38:37 | Using her teammate for cover, Yin sneaks toward her opponents. Stealth 16 vs Perception 11 (-2 distance). EDIT: Yang's Initiative modifier is +3 (Dex). Azuvir has the higher mod, so it doesn't affect anything. EDIT EDIT: Picked the wrong square for Yin. Hope you don't mind. |
| #40crazyartificerJun 25, 2008 6:50:19 | Azuvir shifts and targets Yang with a Magic Missile, hitting for 8 hp damage. |
| #41callixJun 25, 2008 6:57:14 | Yang advances and uses his Second Wind, recovering 7 HP. |
| #42crazyartificerJun 25, 2008 7:00:48 | Baldovius moves and readies to attack any enemy within range with Enfeebling Strike |
| #43callixJun 25, 2008 7:06:47 | You, er, reposted your last map. Where did you want to move to? |
| #44crazyartificerJun 25, 2008 7:11:15 | Wrong map page This is the correct one. |
| #45callixJun 25, 2008 7:18:47 | Yin advances toward the two. Azuvir notices her, but Baldovius doesn't. A shuriken comes flying toward Baldovius, but misses by a good foot. Yin curses and draws a new shuriken. |
| #46crazyartificerJun 25, 2008 7:41:44 | Azuvir casts a Ray of Frost towards Yin and barely misses her. He tells Baldovius where she is. |
| #47callixJun 25, 2008 7:58:42 | Yang charges up to Azuvir and attacks. His elven training allows him to connect for 4 damage. |
| #48crazyartificerJun 25, 2008 9:02:13 | Baldovius moves, Channels Divine Strength and uses Fearsome Smite on Yang, hitting for 15 damage. |
| #49callixJun 25, 2008 15:47:08 | Yin advances and uses Deft Strike to flank Baldovius. She misses. She burns all her available energy to attempt a Trick Strike, which misses. |
| #50crazyartificerJun 26, 2008 10:16:36 | Azuvir shifts back, then targets Yang with a Magic Missile hitting for 10 damage. Seeing him down to 3 hp Azuvir spends an AP and casts Cloud of Daggers on Yang, hitting for 9 more damage, dropping Yang. (and the cloud stands) |
| #51callixJun 26, 2008 16:32:01 | Yang stays the same. |
| #52crazyartificerJun 26, 2008 16:54:40 | At the beginning of Yang's turn he takes an additional 3 hp damage. He got a total of 15+10+9+3= 37 damage and he's at -9. Baldovius turn its attention on Yin, marking her. He uses Enfeebling strike on Yin hitting for 11 hp and giving her a penalty of -2 on attack rolls until the end of next Baldovius turn. |
| #53callixJun 26, 2008 17:11:11 | Yin, now very worried, calls up a Cloud of Darkness. With the cloud to cover her, she attempts a Postioning Strike. Which misses. She moves around to blind Azuvir. OAs are at a -5 vs AC 20 My team works better when the striker deals some damage, doesn't it? |
| #54crazyartificerJun 26, 2008 18:02:31 | Sure ![]() And my rolls are awesome this time. Btw, I don't think it works. As I read it, the Cloud of Darkness is stationary once created.. so either you create it when near Azuvir (taking an AoO from Baldovius) or you blind Baldovius and reveal yourself to Azuvir. |
| #55callixJun 26, 2008 20:32:51 | In that case, she'll stay nead Baldovius. So what's happening this turn? |
| #56crazyartificerJun 27, 2008 2:41:54 | Baldovius double shifts away (as he cannot reasonably now if Yin is still in the same place or not). Azuvir moves a bit and readies to cast Icy Terrain on sight on Yin |
| #57callixJun 27, 2008 2:57:11 | Yin throws a shuriken at Azuvir. Wouldn't you know, it misses. Making the best of a bad situation, she flees, using what little cover there is... Azuvir gets his shot. It's probably over. |
| #58crazyartificerJun 27, 2008 6:28:39 | Azuvir readied action triggers and he centers Icy Terrain on Yin as soon as she quit the cloud. (26,40)? The attack misses, but there is difficult terrain in the area, so movement costs double. I think she should stop in (27,38) |
| #59callixJun 27, 2008 17:02:00 | Here's the modified map. Baldovius can reach Yin. Azuvir will act immediately before Yin. |
| #60crazyartificerJun 28, 2008 3:14:19 | I cannot see the map. By the way, Baldovius bases Yin, mark her, then use Enfeebling Strike hitting for 12 hp. Fight is over. It's your turn to choose the map ;) |
| #61callixJun 29, 2008 16:42:45 | I'll take the Sewer. Box 2 Initiatives: Yin: 16 Yang: 7 |
| #62crazyartificerJul 03, 2008 6:29:47 | Initiative: Azuvir 23 Baldovius 6 Starting box 1. Azuvir begins by double moving. |
| #63callixJul 03, 2008 7:06:31 | Yin double moves (Stealth 26), then burns an action point to use Sly Flourish. The familiar shuriken from nowhere catches Azuvir in the side, dealing 15 damage. Yin draws another shuriken. Yang advances. |
| #64crazyartificerJul 04, 2008 2:34:18 | Baldovius double moves as well. Then Azuvir moves back and second winds. |
| #65callixJul 04, 2008 2:47:46 | Yin moves up to the bars, attempts to squeeze through (Acrobatics 15, fail), then readies. Yang sprints around the corner. |
| #66crazyartificerJul 04, 2008 3:22:27 | Baldovius steps and readies. Azuvir readies as well. |
| #67callixJul 04, 2008 3:28:15 | Baldovius' step triggers Yin's ready. She steps away from the grate and throws a shuriken at Baldovius. She misses. Yang works his way around the corner, no longer running. Now we let the initiative fight sort itself out. |
| #68crazyartificerJul 04, 2008 3:44:40 | Azuvir casts a Magic Missile on Yin, hitting for 6 damage. Baldovius readied action would trigger, but Yin is too far, so the action is wasted. The new initiative should be Yang Yin Azuvir Baldovius. |
| #69callixJul 06, 2008 5:42:59 | Azuvir can't see Yin. He can, however, hit Yang. Since Baldovius triggered Yin's ready, he hadn't readied yet. He can either take an action, or ready another action. Initiative order: Yin Baldovius Azuvir Yang. Yin tries to call up dark flames to better mark Baldovius, but fails. She draws a shuriken and readies. |
