| #2post_ironicApr 17, 2009 10:06:02 | Initiative: Hrrokh-19 Finrod-15 Finduilas-10 Syalith-8 Yakuza Show You start in the east box. |
| #3lonewolfApr 17, 2009 10:13:39 | |
| #4salrantolApr 17, 2009 13:25:39 | Yakuza! Hrrokh is holding his longbow, Syalith nothing. Hrrokh will walk 0 squares and make a Stealth check [move]. Then he will ready to use Hunter's Bear Trap on whichever Twin he sees first. |
| #5post_ironicApr 17, 2009 13:45:37 | Salrantol Show Stealth=17. You have no LOS. |
| #6lonewolfApr 17, 2009 16:24:09 | |
| #7post_ironicApr 17, 2009 21:36:37 | lonewolf Show You move and ready. Peception checks (23, 11) detect nothing. |
| #8salrantolApr 17, 2009 23:02:52 | Syalith Syalith will also walk zero and make a Stealth check, then ready a Sly Flourish for the first Twin he sees. |
| #9post_ironicApr 17, 2009 23:43:57 | Syalith You stealth (21) and ready. You see no movement or change. |
| #10salrantolApr 18, 2009 5:32:30 | Hrrokh Hrrokh will continue readying. As will Syalith if there's still no change. If we're both just readying, skip to the Delay Penalty so we don't just keep going back and forth readying. |
| #11post_ironicApr 18, 2009 18:04:29 | Salrantol No problem. Hrokkh will get hit with delay penalty first. Wait until Twins reply to see if anything changes. |
| #12lonewolfApr 18, 2009 18:54:51 | |
| #13post_ironicApr 18, 2009 19:43:03 | Round 3 Yakuza Still no change. I assume you had Syalith delay as previously stated. Continue delaying? |
| #14lonewolfApr 18, 2009 19:52:20 | |
| #15salrantolApr 19, 2009 7:05:15 | Yakuza! Still no change. I assume you had Syalith delay as previously stated. Continue delaying? Yes, Syalith will continue to READY. And Hrrokh will also continue to READY. |
| #16post_ironicApr 19, 2009 12:34:55 | Rounds 4-6 Yakuza No change. You remain READY, not delaying. My bad on terminology error. On round 6, Syalith sees Finrod come around the corner and Sly Flourishes with a thrown dagger. He hits. Finrod retaliates with a Twin Strike, hitting twice and dealing 20 damage. Finrod moves with preternatural speed, and fires two more arrows at Syalith, hitting once for 14 damage, dropping him. Immediately after, Finduilas comes around, he And Hrokkh see each other and exchange shots. Hrokkh misses (1!), but still bloodies Finduilas. Finduilas fires back and hits Hrokkh twice, dealing 13 damage, bloodying him. Hrokkh: 12/25 bloodied Syalith: |
| #17salrantolApr 19, 2009 12:58:36 | Yakuza! Second Wind [standard]. Cloud of Darkness [minor]. Action Point: Sly Flourish on Finrod [standard]. Shift one square south [move]. You appear to have missed Syalith's Sneak Attack damage on Finrod last round, too. Per the updated Stealth rules, once he is hidden, as long as he has cover or concealment and does not attack, he remains hidden, which gives him combat advantage on that first attack. |
| #18lonewolfApr 19, 2009 13:03:03 | two main concerns: - I dont see any stealth checks for my twins. There is no autospot here - I clearly wanted you to hold actions on enemy contact. Please roll those stealth checks on both sides to make sure who can see whom. actions Assuming that they see each other, Finrod will spend an action point to follow up with Twofanged strike on Sylath. |
| #19post_ironicApr 19, 2009 13:13:32 | Yakuza Your stealth checks failed to beat the Twins' passive perceptions, thus no sneak attack. I may have to hold up a round, so I won't hold Syalith's last set of acitons against you if things change. |
| #20lonewolfApr 19, 2009 13:35:37 | Show For the future: stealth is automatic, but lets roll with it for now. Just spend the action point for Finrod to follow up with another Twofanged strike on Syalith |
| #21post_ironicApr 19, 2009 13:44:20 | Edits done, bolded in-post, please take note. Syalith is now down. Twins are up again. |
| #22lonewolfApr 19, 2009 14:15:22 | |
| #23post_ironicApr 19, 2009 15:31:34 | lonewolf Finrod moves, quarries, and fires. You miss twice (1! for 8, 15), Elven Reroll and Critically hit, felling the bugbear. |
| #24lonewolfApr 19, 2009 15:49:53 | thanks for running! |
| #25salrantolApr 19, 2009 15:53:30 | Yakuza! Your stealth checks failed to beat the Twins' passive perceptions, thus no sneak attack. I may have to hold up a round, so I won't hold Syalith's last set of acitons against you if things change. I looked at the roller: Syalith has a 21. Their passive perceptions are 19 (10+Perception bonus is passive Perception). That gives him a sneak attack. Not that it appears to matter, since they gunned my guys down pretty quick. |
| #26post_ironicApr 19, 2009 15:56:42 | Everyone I looked at the roller: Syalith has a 21. Their passive perceptions are 19 (10+Perception bonus is passive Perception). That gives him a sneak attack. Not that it appears to matter, since they gunned my guys down pretty quick. You're right. Doesn't matter anyway; even with max sneak damage, Finrod stays up with 4 HP and still APs that round, thus dropping Syalith. |
| #27salrantolApr 19, 2009 16:01:51 | Stuff for everyone doesn't need to go in sblocks ;) That said, thanks for running. You did a pretty good job considering the annoying nature of both sides' strategies for pitlording. I would recommend (since both sides had their issues with it), that you go back and read the PHB update with the new Stealth rules (also in the back of PHB2). |
| #28post_ironicApr 19, 2009 16:07:08 | Thanks. I am reviewing Stealth as we speak. As for lonewolf's earlier complaint about stealth, I think all PitLord's would appreciate it if, even if stealth is "automatic," player's stated their intentions to move stealthily. Good fight all around. |
