| #1amethystprotectorJan 18, 2010 1:40:00 | I was recently lucky enough to find a great condition box set of the Freedom campaign for Dark Sun for 2nd edition. The set came with four flip - books (two for players and two for the DM). But in the main DM's book, there happens to be a duplicate page and the next page is missing. The page in question is "Part Four: D" which follows "Part Four: C - The Games Begin" (which also happens to be the duplicate). This page is important to the climax of the riot scene that follows and I would hate to deprive my group of any part of this well told story and the options that the page would of given both DM and PC's. I have just started this campaign, and I just noticed this manufacturing error and would like to know if anyone has the missing information on both sides of the card (the second side includes information on enemies that the PC's can make as part of there actions). Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. |

If you got 4 booklets, your version was mispackaged. Mine is in storage, so I got no details for you. Sorry. |

I did buy it used and when I read the the box it said there were four books in it and I saw the four flip books that looked to be the same style and thought it was right. After about an hours' research, it seems the other two books are from the first Dark Sun boxed set, and they seem to have a similar story line. Thank you mouthymerk for the pics, the will be a great help to me DMing this, seeing that I have about half the set, but seeing that I was planning the campaign without the rest of the set, I'm going to continue and do what DMs are supposed to do, make stuff up ;) But if anyone knows where I might be able to get the rest of the books for either set as a file or something, please post. I'm sure if I had this issue, there might be a few others who are in the same boat. |

| #6amethystprotectorJan 18, 2010 18:27:23 | I read over the blog post in question, and I agree with you on the first Dark Sun (from what I have been able to gather from the two flip books that I have). But from what I have seen of the Freedom campaign (which is the one I am planning to use), I believe that they have fixed enough of their previous mistakes and have gotten it to the point where a new DM like myself should have little difficulty getting it to go even with half the set missing. But reading it and actually running it are two different things. I'll know more when I start this weekend and even more the following weekend. But I always run with a "Plan B", so I have my brother's old blue boxed set that I'm reading over now, and I can always throw in a few stories from Morrowind or Oblivion, both game I have put countless hours and many replays into to have memorized a few encounters/missions that I can work from until I can get a new campaign to work out of. But your input is helpful and I thank every one for the help the have given. |

There is also supposed to be a short story on 8.5x11 format with it also, which includes NPC descriptions and stats on the last few pages. Anything beyond that are things that don't belong in the kit. |

It was brought up and although there will be some difficulty running it, I'm sure the experience I will gain from having to make up the missing material is worth it. "Freedom" does provide several ways out, so if does become to much of a problem, I can back peddle my way into another campaign. |
