The original DSBS added all the 2nd ed MC1 great cats to the list (sorry, didn't have time to look them up, but possibly includes lion, jaguar, and tiger, at least).
Dragon 185 added the MC13 (FR)' sand cat to the list.
Unofficially, one could also add the amradha and the vyala, from Monsters of the Mind by Green Ronin, to stalk the halflings of the Forest Ridge.
That being said, some Athasian animals could be said to fit the feline ecological niche without looking at all like one of them, in true Athasian spirit ;).

Are lions extinct though? Or just very rare now. Jaguar live in the forest ridge IIRC as they're used in Draj. I've got a dire ct of doom. He has a special atack that cahrms you into patting him.

Lions, IIRC, are nearly extinct, being very rare in the wild. I'm pretty sure that I remember RaFoaDK saying that there were none currently in captivity, as well.

Hamanu is fond of lions seeing as it is a constant motif in Urikite culture and he calls himself the Lion of Urik, so if they are to be found anywhere in the Tyr Region perhaps there are lions in Destiny's Kingdom
Quite the contrary. I'll have to look for the page reference, but I'm almost certain that Hamanu was stated as saying that he could not bare to see such a magnificent animal caged - thus my above statement of there not being any in captivity.

In the DS boxed set 1, the spotted lion had almost a 5% chance of being a creature encountered in sandy wastes. The same chance exists for a leopard in the mountains, a cheetah or a jaguar in the scrub plains, and a common lion in the rocky badlands.
