bigger ability score range

If there is ever going to be a 5th edition dark sun setting should it use the standard 3d6 ability score range, or use the 5d4 range like the 2nd edition version did ?

i think the 3d6 standard should do .the classes at certain levels can choose now to boost an ability or take a feat..so i dont realy see the need for the 5d4 out the gate.

The game is more or less balanced around point buy and 3d6 is the closest to point buy possible. The whole dark sun is harder so I need better ability scores is very stupid by itself. First - not all classes benefit the same from higher ability scores and second - if the game is supposed to be harder - then you don't need better ability scores to make it easier...
