So I've been skimming Old Kingdom's "Bronze Gods" campaign setting, and there seems to be quite a bit of material that could be stolen for use in Athas, especially for a non-Tyr Valley campaign or as material for another section of the world.

From what I've seen, the setting is a (too-)vibrant primitive jungle setting filled with dangerous mutant lifeforms and populated by unique non-human races, where magical life-force runs rampant, hiding the ruins of a lost arcane civilization that was destroyed in a techno-magical cataclysm -- a wasted mainland.

I just keep thinking how well it meshes with Athas: from the unique humanoids, the mutant and mutating creatures, the technology of the pre-cursors, the life-force based magic, the ruins of a lost age, and so forth.

One thought I had is that the ancient tech could be advanced psionic (and/or life-shaped) technology wedded to sorcery. Though whatever it is, it would be way beyond even the most knowledgeable wizard's current understanding, so why muck things by providing a concrete explanation. Kind of a: "Rajaat and his Champions were not the only individuals to discover the merging of sorcery and psionics."

...

Ok. Now I've had a chance to read through more of the book, and there's more (lots more!) great stuff in there that could be so easily meshed into Athas and DarkSun.
