Cleric spells in 2nd ed dark sun

Jul 26, 2010 4:09:58 While I do gave the original box set to dark sun I was wondering if they ever added more spells to clerics in dark sun? In the set they only had access to their element and minor access to cosmos. To me this would leave them very little, in fact for some elements this leaves them with almost no spells at certain levels. Did they increase access later or did they live with almost no spells.

By the way I understand that the cleric proably had access to too many spells but I think this went even more overboard than in the priests handbook with good combat priests spell access.

Jul 26, 2010 4:50:44 Clerics also got some additional granted abilities based upon their element, like being immune to their element for a short while, or being able to gate in pure element. Earth, Air, Fire and Water expanded these abilities further.

Also, they got major access to Cosmos at 21st level. So there is that.

Balance was not the highest on 2nd edition's priority list.

Jul 26, 2010 23:20:21 Oh so they did finnally get major access to cosmos but not until 21st level. Good but very late. Thanks for telling me about the elemental book I did not know that one. Why oh why did they have them start with near nothing. The granted powers are neat but they do not really take the place of basic spells such as healing spells that destructive templars get in full. The irony.
