Jun 30, 2011 17:05:20 Is there a cost or value printed anywhere to reflect the value of obsidian orbs? Specificaly, the type used by the shadow beings to procreate?

Jun 30, 2011 17:55:31 NOt sure about the SHadow GIants, but the orbs the sk's use is as follows (From Dragon Kings):
Orb creation: The obsidian orb must be craftedperfectly, without flaws. Locating a specimen of rawobsidian that can be so worked is often difficult.Once located, a craftsman must take special care inpreparation to make a perfect sphere of shining obsidian.Typically, even with slave labor, a sorcererkingmust expend 1,000 gp or more to create aperfect specimen. The finished orb is 1d20 inches indiameter.

Jun 30, 2011 23:12:30 Wasn't there a race of shadow being that used orbs to produce more of there kind? I swear I recall reading that in the Verdant Passage series (think it was book 2).

Jul 01, 2011 0:26:19 Yeah, there definitely are shadow giants, I just don't have a reference to how much their orbs/eggs cost, just the one to the SK's orbs.

Cool, thanks for the reply. Was hoping something was posted on it somewhere, but maybe the SK reference works well enough for a frame of reference.
