Crystal Forest

Jul 11, 2011 23:52:58 Has anyone used it in their campaign? What sort of monsters did you place in it? What special rules did you use (Crystalization etc.)?

My party is level 6, but I don't mind scaling things down.

Jul 12, 2011 12:42:23 Hmm. I'm inferring from your comment that the crystal forest was added to Athas with the 4e Dark Sun campaign setting, which would explain why I can't find a reference to it in any of the 2e material.

In response to your question, I was using the 4e campaign setting as the source for this location. It's supposedly set in the forest ridge.

To paraphrase the DSCS, the crystal forest is the result of a defiler/druid duel. A few square miles of forest have been crystalized. In the center is a Dais of obsideon. Any creature that ascends the dais, begins to crystallize.

I plan to use some crystal spiders (because there's an entry in the DSCC for them) and a crystal golem (because I got a sweet reaper mini for it). What else could I crystallize? Birds?

Also, I was going to give the players a couple rounds of saving throws before they became shardmind-esk. What do you think?
