Second, the map of the Tyr Region is tiny. It doesn't do me any good when the print is illegible. And third, the other city-states are all text free. While this might be valuable at some times I imagine most people would like to see the maps as presented in the setting guide. I will admit that the third point is not a huge issue, but the first two seem like pretty large errors. I am one of those who prefers to not remove maps from books (for some reason I haven't quite determined yet) and always look forward to the Campaign galleries so I can show my players the maps on a computer. It makes me sad that Dark Sun has to have 2nd class digital maps. |

| #3JasonmflowAug 19, 2010 14:06:09 | Yes, but as I stated I do not like to remove the poster maps. I prefer the digital versions. And since they decided to include the Tyr Region map (even though it is almost unusable) it seems odd that they would omit the map of Tyr itself. |
| #4FlashbackJonAug 19, 2010 14:41:27 | Almost as odd as not removing the maps that are intended for removal? ![]() |
| #5JasonmflowAug 19, 2010 14:46:23 | I guess it's the OCD, but I hate tearing those maps out. Which even i recognize as odd...they are so pretty... |
| #6quoinAug 19, 2010 20:04:36 | I wish they included them, as well. The pull out map is pretty and all, but I like digital version for drawing on and taking notes, showing travel (red-dotted indy jones style), etc. I definitely feel shorted in the cool map department. Although, the Tyr side is bad-ass, it's one Mt dew spill away from useless, so I'm afraid to use it much, and it's too big to scan. |
| #7big_goonAug 19, 2010 20:42:10 | I'd love to see an upload from WotC with a "because of popular demand, we have uploaded these super-cool high res maps for your enjoyment" note. So... if you want a digital map, shout-out a post! Maybe we can bully WotC into doing something for us! ![]() Please... wotc? I want to send digital references of the maps to my players (with my custom-made reference points) before we start. |
| #8OrcbossAug 19, 2010 21:42:32 | Didn't they release a nice new shiny digital map for Eberron? Surely Dark Sun is at least that cool. |
| #9Duke5150Aug 19, 2010 21:54:39 | I'd enjoy a hi res map I can zoom in on. I do not use my maps. I do remove them and look at them and call them pretty names, then I put them in a plastic tub I keep all my secret nerd loot in and never use them. I'v had maps ruined, lost and stolen. So I refuse to use my maps. (even battlemaps) I'm currently using my 3.5 dmg grid map. (yeah, remember that one?) and all my new maps are put away. I'll be using my 3.5 grid map until it falls apart. (still in excellent condition even after years of use) While I really like the new DS map, it's just not enough for me. I'll be sticking with the digital revised ds maps. If they ever release a hi res map of the new ds map, I'll probably use it. |
