Unless I missed it, the guy seems not to be answering any questions that we don't already know the answer to, so... yeah.

Crothian & another guy are also posting at RPG.net with info, including stuff we haven't seen before, like what all the EDs are, Thr-kreen are Dex +Str/Wis (we didn't know the Str part before), Muls can choose to count as either huamsn or dwarves for feats/pps, and other stuff.

For the record, I TOTALLY called Thri-Kreen as DEX//STR/WIS. That makes me happy.
Of course, this wasn't very difficult at all to infer. It was either STR or INT or CHA, and INT and CHA don't really fit for Thri-Kreen very well at all.

Oh, there was one kinda sorta important thing in the ENWorld thread you missed Crim.  Tongue out

We already knew about Wild Talents from the Sorcerer King Pact article, but most people were assuming they'd be Boons like in that Psionics article a little ways back.  Turns out they are actually ten minor or move action At-Wills that do things like "set a flamable object within 5 squares on fire" that you can choose, roll randomly for, or just not use.

I've told you before that I can accept pyrokinesis as relatively viable compared to the other crap out there so long as it doesn't overshadow the more classical themes like telepathy, telekinesis, precognition, and ESP. As you say that there are ten of these such at-wills, one of them being pyrokinesis sounds acceptable enough.

EDIT: Also, where in the thread did you see that? I just looked it over again and coudn't find it. I found the reference to Wild Talents being ten at-will powers, but no references to what any of them actually do.

EDIT2: Found it in the rpg.net thread, not the enworld thread.

Yeah, I combined the two.  The stuff about them being at-wills was in the first, which is new info.

Am I the only one who is completely uninterested in dark sun? Just saying, my favorite part about it coming out is that I can stop seeing adverts for it.

Any way just had to say it. Ignore.

Thus far it sounds like there are a lot of mechanical "crunch" options in the book, and that they're all stuff I like - yay!  Laughing

There are five four (thought I saw someone say 5 but I only count four in the list) new class builds? Wow. I wonder how easy it will be to separate them from the Dark Sun fluff? I mean, the Sorcerer King Pact could probably stand in for any situation in which the pact is with an epic level but mostly mortal magic-user.

Edit to Add: Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee one of the wild talents is at-will broadcast telepathy. I am very pleased.

You were apparently interested enough to post here...

It's getting reflavoured as a pact with a powerful djinn or efreet in my (non-DarkSun) games. Not sure how easy the others will be to reflavour.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Thanks for the mental image of a blonde eladrin woman (I always assume people look like their avatars) dancing excitedly in giddy little circles and making uncontrollable 'squee' noises. I needed cheering up today.

The wild talents do sound very cool. Even if I never run or play in a DS campaign, I still want this book. It sounds like there'll be a lot I can use in my homebrew setting.

ETA: I love how one of the first questions was whether the art makes thri-keen females look hot. Keep it classy, guys...

I'm just very happy that 1) there are psionic cantrips and 2) they include at-will telepathy. These two lacks have been bugging me since PHB3 came out, they both seemed like serious lapses on the designers' part. But I think wild talents is the perfect place to stick the cantrip-equivalents, and if they wanted to hold them back for Dark Sun or Psionic Power (I wonder if we'll get more of them in PP?) that seems valid.

I second this, I just don't see what's so great about DS.

I never played Dark Sun (during 2nd edition), already had my hands full with a long running Forgotten Realms campaign.  For that matter, I never got to play Eberron either (during v.3.5), still had my hands full with Forgotten Realms games ;). Only now (during 4e) are we finally playing Eberron.  Our FR games came to an end earlier.

I bought the Dark Sun boxed sets and some supplements (to read if nothing else), so I pretty much know what to expect, but I've never played the setting.  I think its way past time for some Dark Sun.

One thing I like is that life is cheap, really cheap.  I wanna 'waste' some PCs ;).  I'm anxious to see how muls appear in 4e because they are a core race in my homebrew setting.  I designed it for 3.5 but I'd like to see it work in 4e as well.  I can convert most everything  except muls, not sure on how I'd do that.

It is sublime. If there was a shining center to the universe, the Dark Sun setting is the setting closest to it. It radiates the light of Creation and could power a city for 10,000 years. It is 9 meters tall and shoots lasers from its eyes.

It is the One Setting.

Or, you know, it's kind of a cool desert setting that takes tropes of D&D and tries to flip them on their heads. Seems okay to me, but YMMV.

I don't care about any of the settings, but I did care about Artificers and Swordmages and (to a lesser extent) Dark Pact Warlocks... and I'm very interested in the new builds, themes, and Psiantrips Wild Talents of Dark Sun.

As much as I want to read those posts I don't want to ruin it for me, that and most reviews either gloss over what I want to know (in this case the themes, builds, backgrounds, paragon paths and a slightly lesser extent feats and epic destinies) or sit there and complain about something so abstract or obscure as to not matter to me.   Anyway means this is closer to the actual release which makes me happy.
