So, I've almost finished running my party through the Vault of Darom Madar, but I think I'm doing the math wrong as far as their final payout is concerned. I came up with 135 gold as their portion of the treasure split, based on what was suggested in the adventure. This seems really small, considering how much treasure there was supposed to be. I also gave each character an magic item (they chose what kind of item, i chose the enchantment). So, is this actually how much cash their supposed to walk away with? And is this supposed to count as a normal treasure parcel in any way, or is it a seperate, bonus treasue (as it is marked as "special" on the parcel list). I know this is kind of nitpicking, but I just found myself really confused.

Also, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for follow-up adventures, picking up on the hook mentioned at the end about Tsalaxa seeking revenge. I had an idea partially inspired by the Cave of Wonders from Disney's Alladin, having Haneth Tsalaxa kill Rhotan Vor, assume his identity, have the characters find some treasure in a mysterious cave, then trap them there after a cave-in (revealing his identity first). Some burrowing creatures (Hejkin maybe?) attack and provide them with a way out. That's about as far as I've gotten. Not really sure how to flesh out the details and provide a way for the characters to seek some payback. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I'm going with to path road. First, leader of elven tribe of Silver Oasis has hired PC's to seek and investigate what is going on with his son. I expect heroes will opt to go to Tyr and while on the way, I'll run Fury of the Wastewalker (as a some kind of check, how experienced players will handle this adventure in comparison to newbies). Then I will probably go for the "Lost Cistern of Averek" (sp?).

One of treasures found in Darom's vault will be obsidian orbs, but smoother and heavier than normal. They are first ones Kalak requested when prepared for metamorphosis. Now he senses them and wants them back (my campaign is set before his assassination) and this is going to be another, perhaps final adventure.

I just ran Damor Mador and the players now have an enemy in house Tsalaxa. My buddy is going to take over being DM for the party for the next advenutre which is going to be marauders of the dune sea and the chracter I am going to play is actually going to be a Urik spy that has infiltrated house Tsalaxa and joins the party to find the first piece to the crown of dust. She is going to steal the artifact and attack the PC's on their return to Tyr with a group of thugs and then split for the merchant quarter where the PC's will more than likely destroy the house and take over merchant rights. My character is suppose to slip back to Urik where she will update the King of the World and be an ongoing enemy in heroic tier.

I described the big room full of treasure, gave them time to look around and gave each one item from their wishlist.  It was something that caught their eye and they grabbed; no point in filling their pockets with coin when the caravan was going to cart it all back home for them.  Since I am doing inherent bonuses and reduced magic items, they all wrote up a quick wishlist for this treasure room, things they were keeping an eye out for.

At that point they left the treasure vault to meet up with the merchant caravan and were ambushed on the way out.  That was when Slither from Dune Sea showed up, so they had to flee and never got the rest of the treasure.

I initially thought about running Darom Madars Treasure, but I felt that the House knew that Tsalaxa was going to attack so they spread their wealth and resources so that Madar would not be wiped out.... Regrettably Madar underestimated the determination of Tsalaxa and the numerous hidden strong holds that Madar was able to secure have slowly drifted into oblivion.

The party will come across a gold bar engraved with House Madar's crest that will lead them to the vaults across the land. Eventually they will recover the wealth of House Madar as well as journals of the last days of the house. This will slowly shed light on the fact that someone they met in Glug after first finding the gold bar is actually a descendent of House Madar and is using them to find the vaults and extract vengeance on House Tsalaxa.

Ofcourse this is my first attempt, but hopefully my players will enjoy everything..

I grabbed the Ciphers, but I can't open the "Initial Finding of the GOld Bar"

I'd be interested if you could email it or post it here.

THanks!

Still fleshing out the background, but this is what I am using to expand my hook. I pulled the published background story and changed the last paragraph and added a few more to explain what happened..

Even though Darom Madar could not prevent Virinus from accomplishing his first goal, the leader of House Madar was dead set on preventing his villainous rival from accomplishing the second. Mobilizing what remained of his house, Darom Madar had every bit of material wealth taken from the Madar Estate and hidden across Athas in different secured vaults. Soon after, Tsalaxa assassins killed Darom Madar and everyone else of his house, and his line ended or so they thought. Tsalaxa found the initial vault loaded with most of Madars wealth in the Canyon of Gothay and pillaged it.

Unknown to Tsalaxa, Darom had prepared for this by hiring out construction to vaults and hidden fortresses across Athas and away from the Tableland. Darom had spent a sizable fortune to protect these vaults and fill them with goods and items that would allow Madar to absorb the assault that Tsalaxa had planned to send, only Darom underestimated the efficiency Tsalaxa planned to eradicate Madar with. The night that Darom Madar was murdered woman and an elf named Ireth Tinuviel, fled from House Madar’s Estate and travelled through the Forest Ridge. The woman gave birth to a female child 8 months after the death of Darom, she named the child Victoria Steelsong, since the woman was a mistress to Darom.

Ireth raised Victoria as her own daughter, teaching her the way of the land. She kept the secret of her linage until Victoria’s 30th birthday. Thirty years later Victoria is slowly biding her time to take down Tsalaxa, recently she sent Thovan Shortcloak into the Great Alluvial Sand Wastes in search of an ancient keep that Madar used for trade. According to legends that Ireth has passed, and scattered documents and rumors she has heard, Victoria believes that the first map to lead to the rest of the vaults lie in that ruin.
