Old school.....
KODT strip suggestion Title: "With friends like you, who needs enemies?" Author: Jon Sederqvist
Featuring: B.A, Bob, Dave, Sara and Brian (from left to right)
_______________________
B.A: Ok, guys - I thought I'd spice up Hackmaster with this neat campaign setting: Derk Zun. Bob: Huh? I thought Hard 8 had cancelled the DZ line? Something about player riots over the revised set or something. Dave: I heard it's the highest hackfactor rated game ever, and you can play giant bugs and stuff! Sara: That would be an interesting character indeed. Brian: Three-krin have four arms and paralyzing bite attacks - they rock! But what's really cool is that all Derk Zun characters have psionics and abilityscores go skyhigh!
_____________________
B.A: Good! You've heard about Derk Zun. Pete sold me the set from his private collection, so let's treasure it. Roll up some characters. Bob: 4 arms and paralyzing bite huh? I'll play one of those three-krin. Load me up some crossbows! Dave: Ooh! This one gets +4 str and +2 con… and warriors gain extra d4 strength?! This is definitely my character! Sara: Private collection? I thought he had 40 sets in the ba… Brian: Shh….
_____________________
B.A: Ok, tell me about your characters. Bob, you go first. Bob: I play a bug gladiator called H'ack'slash - Hack for short. I use four bastardswords and four crossbows. My psi skill is accelerator - it gives me double my normal attacks. And I've got a bad temper. Dave: Freakin awesome, dude. I play a half-giant fighter, El Ravager Jr. I use a bigass twohanded sword and have complete heal psi. Bob: Wow! Sara: I play Neera, a half-elven trader. My goal is to build my own merchant emporium and finding my unknown parents. My psi is danger instinct. Brian: My character is a half-elf wartemplar/shadowdefiler/tribalpsionicist. I can use both wizard and priest spells and have access to a bucketload of neat psis. I work for king Tek of Drag.
______________________
B.A: Ok, guys. There's an introduction adventure included in the box to familiarize you with Atoss, the brutal desert world Derk Zun is set in. Bob: Give it to us. Hack is getting restless. Dave: Yeah, Junior wants to break something. Sara: Brian: That adventure has received a 6/8 rating - let's kick it. I just have to do a little recalculating on my psis… B.A: Ok, but be warned - I'll be a lot harder on you than in our usual Hackmaster campaign. DZ is brutal. _____________________
B.A: Ok, you're all captured slaves onboard a caravan headed for the citystate of Ulrik. You're stripped of all equipment except your undergarments. It's hot and damp in your pens, and you're not alone. About a dozen or so slaves in addition to you are kept here. They throw you occasional glances and… Bob: Hack's hungry and doesn't like the way they stare at him. I'm gonna bite one and paralyze him! Dave: Yeah, you show'em you're not to be messed with, dude. Sara: Oh, brother. Brian: Who the hell would be so stupid as to take a templar as a slave? Tek would kill them instantly!
____________________
B.A: Sorry, Bob, you're chained on all limbs. All of you are. Brian, you're a 2nd level templar - a remover of waste - you're not missed by Tek. Bob: Dang. I'll try to break loose, or kick at him or something. Dave: I have 25 strength, I break loose. Sara: Does Neera perceive the slaves as a threat? I have danger instinct. Brian: Waste?! (mumble…) Ok, I use the molecular manipulation psi. Within a minute the chains are so brittle I can snap them easily.
___________________
B.A: Dave, you break loose with a lot of noise. Bob - your kicks do not reach them, and the slaves begin to laugh at the sight of a 450 pound bug balancing on one leg. Sara, the only perceivable dangers are Bob and Dave's characters. Brian, the chains become brittle. Bob: What?! I spit at them! Does my spit paralyze them? Dave: I'll free Bob. Sara: I guess I'll use my escape restraints ability to get loose. Brian: I'll snap them as soon as I can.
___________________
B.A: Ok, as Junior tears loose Hack, Neera senses danger approaching. Brian, you're free. Bob: I use accelerator and leap at those bastards who laughed at me. Hah! Who's laughing now? I click maniacally as I do so! Dave: I help Bob trash those slaves. Sara: Probably guards coming because of the ruckus. I'll try to hide in shadows. Brian: B.A, I open a dimensional portal to a mile behind the wagon. B.A: Ok, roll attacks and psi checks.
__________________
B.A: Bob and Dave, you brutally kill the helpless, chained slaves in a gory massacre. Sara, there are no good places to hide. Brian, your portal opens before you at the same instant the door to the slave pen flings open. Several guards and a psionicist step into the pens, and they're clearly furious at the sight of the dead slaves. They draw their bone weapons and engage you in battle. Bob: I leap at them, clicking maniacally as usual. Are they intimidated? Dave: Can I trample them? Sara: I leap through Brian's portal. Brian: I step through the portal. Dave: Hey, where you going? Brian: The portal's closing at the end of the round. Bob: Dang. Hack wheezes at the guards and leaps into the portal, too. Dave: Chickening out, dude? In that case, I leap after Bob.
___________________
B.A: Ok, you all land in a heap out in the middle of nowhere. Brian and Sara, roll a saving throw or be crushed because the three-krin and half-giant land on you. Bob: Dang! That's gotta hurt. We weigh like a ton together, man. Dave: Being big is pretty good. Hehe. Sara: What? That's ridiculous... (roll) - oh, well, I made it, anyway. Brian: Ferk, ding blast, I failed. This is stupid, B.A. B.A: No complaints, or I'll use Pete's demerit system. (roll). Don't worry, you only broke both arms. Brian: I am a mage, blast it! I can't cast 98,4% of the spells now! Heck, I can't even use my templar spells. I pray to Tek for healing.
_________________
B.A: Sorry, Brian - Tek's a busy man - he has more important issues to deal with. Bob: That sucks, B.A. Brian's no good without his spells! Dave: You're a wuzz, dude. Sara: Can't you go easy on us the first time? We didn't even know we would end up in a heap. Brian: What kind of a weak idiot is Tek, if he can't heal his worshippers? This sorcerer-king is lame - I'll serve another one instead. As of now (erase, write) I hail the King of Urik.
_________________
B.A: You shouldn't have done that, Brian. Suddenly a great boom is heard across the dunes, and crimson ball lightning strikes from the sky. You are struck and engulfed in flames. You are slowly burnt to death in great agony, until all that remains of you is a charred skeleton. Bob: Wow! Tek's powerful! Dave: You shouldn't have dissed him, dude. Sara: Glad I'm not in your shoes, uh, undergarments, Brian. Brian: Hmpf… well, I got my next character at hand - a half-elf mercenarydefiler/psionicist/druid. Should be even better than the last one.
________________
B.A: You'll play a WHAT? Bob: Have you lost it, Brian? Defilers and druids are sworn enemies. Dave: Yeah, you can't play those two classes together. Doh! Sara: They're right, Brian. Brian: Wrong! The multi-class options for half-elves clearly state that they can be mage/psionicist/clerics, and half-elves can substitute druid for cleric, and they can be either defilers or preservers. My character is just a little loco. B.A: That's clearly an overlooked mistake in the rules, but I'll allow it. You can have a split personality, Brian, but you have to use it in the game! Bob: This smells of lalaland. Dave: Yeah. Someone call 911. Sara: Oh, please, we all know Brian's got some trick up his sleeve for wanting to play that ridiculous combination. Brian: Of course. B.A, you said it yourself - I have split personality permanently, which is a result of a psychic surgery psi operation. I can act twice as many times per round. Check the rules if you don't believe me. B.A: (thinking: damn, he got me.)
________________
B.A: Ok, Brian's character joins the party. All around you is sand and rocks. Off in the distance, Dave's half-giant sees a cactus field. You're all very hungry and thirsty since you haven't been fed today, and you'll lose hit points if you don't drink enough water. Dave, you have to drink 4 times as much as everyone else. Bob, you don't have to drink until next week. Bob: Cool. Dave: Aw, crap. Being big sucks. Brian: I cast create water in my gallon-waterskin and drink it empty. Sara: Nice, Brian. Can you make some for me too? Brian: Sorry, I'm true chaotic neutral - no water for you when there's cacti up ahead. Dave: Let's haul our bodies over to that field, then.
________________
B.A: Ok, you reach the cactus field. There are three kinds of plants to choose from. A purple ball cactus, a tree-like cactus, and a tubelike brambleweed. Bob: I'll keep guard while you guys eat and drink. I prefer raw meat over pulp. Dave: Great, dude. I'll break down one of those tree-like cacti. Sara: I'll inspect the purple balls to check if they're poisonous. I have herbalism. Brian: I'll help Dave chop down that tree. Since this is a new character, I have equipment, including a steel longsword, because I have the mercenary mage kit. Dave: Cool, gimme that sword, so it'll go faster. Brian: Sorry, dude, I'm paranoid. Only I use that sword.
________________
B.A: Ok, Brian, you take a chop at the tree-like cactus. To your surprise the cactus deflects your blow with a branch, and slaps you for 10 points of damage with another branch. You lose the grip on your sword and fall back. The cactus then leans towards you, preparing a volley of strikes with three more branches. Bob: Do I hear the sound of battle? Dave: I leap at the cactus. I'm gonna wrestle it to the ground. Sara: Gosh, who would suspect a cactus would attack you? Brian: I use one personality to initiate my blinking psi. With psi manipulation I boost it so I can't be struck by any opponents. Then I start drawing plant energy to fuel my spells and kill that cactus with my other personality.
________________
B.A: Bob, you see what's happening. Dave, as you try to wrestle with the tree-like cactus, it grasps each of your arms with two branches, and places two more branches around your neck. You're suffocating. Brian, you start to drain the cactus, but it doesn't seem to injure it that much. Bob: Hmm… That's one tough cactus. I'll pretend I haven't noticed what's going on. I'll whistle to make it plausible. Dave: You traitor, Bob. Wait til I get my hands on you. I try to break loose from the cactus' grip. B.A: Roll an opposed strength check. Dave: 14. B.A: Sorry, the cactus is too strong for you. You're starting to turn blue. Sara: Do something, Brian. Brian: This draining process is taking too long. I'll just disintegrate it (roll).
_________________
B.A: You fumbled your disintegrate psi check? Let me check what the book says on this… Bob: You okay, dude? You look a little pale. Brian: (sweating) Uh.. no… Dave: I'm the one turning blue. What're you sweating for? Brian: I-m no-t sweating. Sara: Yes, you are, and you're stuttering. What's wrong?
_________________
B.A: Brian, as you try to disintegrate the cactus, something goes wrong as you're channeling the psi energy. Instead of turning it outwards, towards the cactus, you end up with it inside yourself, and you can't stop. You end up imploding! Poof! No more Brian. Bob: Dang. This isn't your day, is it, Brian?. Dave: 2 characters in 5 minutes - That's a new Muncie record, dude. Sara: I'm really sorry, Brian, that seemed like a good character. Brian: I couldn't be hit, I was immune to magic and I had psi defenses that would make Tek shrink in his pants… B.A: And you just killed yourself, hehe. Dave: Look at B.A. He's gloating. Bob: Yeah, this must be his greatest moment or something. Brian: Let it rest, guys, I have another character. A half-elf fighter/psionicst. That cactus is going to plant-hell when I arrive on the scene.
__________________
B.A: Well, you won't arrive until this battle is over. Which brings us to the inevitable, hehe. Dave, the cactus crushes your throat and drops you to the ground like a bag of trash. A loud thud is heard across the nearby dunes. Bob: Oh, Hack wonders what that could be. He heads over to the others by the cactus field. Also, he is very cautious not to step on any cactuses or move to close to them or anything. He is an insect, he knows nature can be dangerous. Dave: Oh well, guess I'll use my halfling cannibal ranger, then. He hunts for sport and eats all his kills. He'll use any means necessary to take down a foe. If he doesn't like you, he'll eat you. Sara: With friends like these, who needs enemies?
__________________
B.A: Apparently the sound of the half-giant hitting the ground has drawn attention to the cactus field. Dave and Brian's characters come walking over the dunes, and you all meet up. Brian: I'll use accelerator, magnication, adrenalin boost, time control and biofeedback. Then I'm attacking that cactus with martial arts. That's 120 attacks, B.A. Do I need to roll? B.A: No, Brian, you beat the cactus to a splushy pulp. Brian: Good, then I loot the body of my previous character, claiming that steel sword and all his other equipment. Sara: That reminds me, how did my herbalism go? I'll check the pulp of this one as well.
__________________
B.A: The purple ball is lethal, while the remains of the tree-like cactus are ok to eat and drink. Sara: Good, we'll eat and drink, and then be on our way. B.A: Ok, you walk for a bit and after a while you come to a quicksand pit. Bob: Can I leap across it? Dave: Quicksand, huh? Can't you use that to make haste potions? Sara: No, you idiot. Brian: You sink and you die, Dave, and it is not a speedy way to go.
_________________
B.A: Bob, you can leap across it. Bob: Ok, I leap. Dave: Oh, I mixed it up with the quickness sandals. Brian: Yeah, you can use footsweat from them in haste potions. Sara: Never mind that - I'll leap across the quicksandpit too. B.A: Bob, you land safely on the other side. Sara, you leap and land in the middle of the pit. You're covered to the waist, and the sand is pulling you down. Bob: Not much Hack can do. Sara: B.A, you didn't even tell me it was too far to leap. And why did Bob make it? Brian: If someone's got a rope, we can pull her out. Dave: I've got one, but I'm not helping her. She called me an idiot. B.A: Well, you didn't ask. And three-krin can leap much longer than half-elves. Well, since no one's helping Sara's character, she keeps on sinking, eventually her head disappears under the sand. Neera suffocates to death in a most painful way. (This is going great, I've never enjoyed myself so much). Sara: Dave, you really are an idiot - I called you it outside the game, you moron.
_________________
B.A: Ok, what are you going to do? Bob: Yeah, guys, that quicksand pit is a real obstacle. Dave: Maybe we can tie the rope to a rock and throw the rope across. Then we can use it to cross the pit. Sara: My new character is a female thri-kreen druid. Brian: That rope thing is too risky. We'll have to think of something else… ________________
An hour later…
B.A: No, for the last time, Dave, you can't burn away the quicksand pit, the tenth torch sinks into the pit. Dave: Dang! That was my last one. Bob: I really thought that was a good idea, Dave. BA's obviously working against us on purpose. Sara: I can't believe they would make an incrossable obstacle in an official adventure. We must be missing something. B.A has read the description of the pit five times already, and still we can't figure out how to get past it. Brian: Hmm… I have an idea. We'll just have to make it crossable. Every time a character dies, we get a new one, right? We'll just draw straws on who's to lose his or her character. That player makes a bunch of suicidal maniac half-giants that will dive into the pit. Eventually they will fill it up, and we can cross safely.
________________
B.A: Oh, brother… Bob: Pretty clever. Dave: That's not a bad idea. Sara: Only you, Brian, only you. Brian: I have my moments… Hey, I got an even better idea - it'll be a lot faster! We'll just kill off these characters and make identical twins that arrive on the scene from the other side of the pit! B.A: Look, you idiots! You could just walk around the stupid pit! It doesn't even qualify for experience! Your plan is just stupid - s t u p i d. Period.
________________ B.A cools down, and the game proceeds…
B.A: Ok, evening is not far away. The crimson sun will soon vanish behind the Ringing Mountains in the west. Are you going to make camp? Bob: Yeah, but no campfire. They draw predators to them. Dave: If a cactus can kill a half-giant, I'm afraid what an animal, not to mention a monster, can do. Sara: I and Bob will keep guard. Since we're three-krin we don't need to sleep. Brian: Sounds good. Wake us if anything happens. I'll tuck myself in good. I have blankets, even spares, if anyone needs them.
_________________
B.A: The evening brings with it extreme cold. Even with your blankets, Bob and Brian, you're freezing. You finally go to sleep as the twin moons rise. Bob: So, Sara, your three-krin didn't tell me its name. Dave: Uh, B.A, here's a note… Sara: No one asked. Her name is Ka'cha, which means knowledge seeker. Bob: So, you been a three-krin for long, Ka'cha? Sara: All my life, which is 6 years. Why? Bob: Oh, no reason. Brian: Hmm… This could be interesting.
_________________
B.A: … Bob: So, have you laid your eggs or what you do this year? Sara: Uh, no, Bob. Why do you ask? Bob: I was thinking, like, maybe we could… you know. Sara: No, I don't. What do you mean? Bob: Like breed. You know - make some babybugs. Dave: Uh, gross, dude. Sara: What?! B.A?! Brian: Hehe… it's an interesting topic, actually. Was an article in Hackjournal about this.
_________________
B.A: I'm neutral in this matter. Keep me out! Bob: Hey, Hack doesn't breed with just anybody, you know. And he's quite a warrior. Dave: You're sick, dude. Sara: Well, Ka'cha isn't some krin floosy. And I'm really disappointed in you as a person, Bob. Didn't take you for a sexist - you're even worse than Dave! B.A, I'm changing my character from three-krin to mul. Dave: What? Me?! Brian: She's right, Dave. Remember the leather thong thing? Bob: Ooh, like you're not aiming to score with that remark! B.A: Guys, maybe you should calm down before… ________________
(FIGHT!)
B.A: Oh forget that I said anything. When I read Derk Zun was brutal, I didn't even imagine this. What an awesome campaign!
_______________
B.A: Ok, now that everyone's cooled down, Dave's got the twelve sider out of his left ear, and Bob's re-taped his socks, we can continue. Bob: Sorry, dude - that twelve sider wasn't aimed at you - it was aimed at Brian. Dave: Like that makes it all ok, Bob. I can hardly hear on my left ear. B.A - the note! I'm doing it! Definitely. B.A: Ok, Dave, make your rolls. Dave: (rolls) Made 'em. Bob: What're you doing, dude? Brian: Yeah, what's up, Dave? Dave: You'll soon find out.
______________
B.A: Bob, it is too late when you feel a slim blade thrust into your throat from behind. It pierces your exoskeleton and shreds your internals. You die instantly. Bob: What the hell?! How the heck do you justify what you just did, Dave? You passed that note to B.A. before I shove the twelve sider into your ear! Dave: Tough break, dude. My halfling wants to taste everything, and he hasn't tasted krin yet. Just playing my character. Bob: Hmpf… That was pretty rotten! Well, Hack's identical twin brother, Whack, will arrive on the scene and execute his revenge. Sara: With companions like you, who needs enemies? B.A: Sorry, Bob. I'm not gonna allow it. No grudge kills. Bob: What the hell do you call what he just did? Don't give me that playing his character bogus. After that "Snowwhite" kids play, we all know Dave has the acting skills of a treetrunk.
______________
B.A: Sorry, Bob, he did tell us about his character before he sent the note. Dave: Yeah, I did. And I played a dwarf - not a treetrunk. Bob: You sure could have fooled me. Sara: He is right, Bob. No need to mope. We've all lost at least one character today. Brian: He said he'd eat those he doesn't like - apparently he didn't like you. He's a halfling, what did you expect? They ain't pipesmoking, fat couchpotatoes in DZ.
______________
B.A: Ok, enough about that. The new characters join up with Dave and Brian. Dave, the thri-kreen is crunchy on the outside, and soft and slimy on the inside. Dave: Yuck. I don't wanna eat that. I'll just bury the thing, so it won't smell bad in the morning. Bob: €&#! So much was that character worth. Oh, well, Chuckles the dwarf thief arrives on the scene. He is chaotic neutral and is known to react violently if he doesn't get things his way. Sara: So does Gena the mul druid. Well, she arrives, but she ain't a psychopath, like Bob's character. Brian: All right, let's get the game moving. Does anything happen during the night?
_______________
B.A: No, nothing happens during the night. The sun rises and you get ready to move. You need to find some food and water, or you'll start losing hit points. Bob: Let's search the area then. Dave: Yeah. I'm a pretty good ranger, do I find any tracks? Brian: Hmm… how much meat is there on a dwarf? They're pretty stocky, aren't they? Sara: Brian, don't give Dave any ideas. Brian: Hey, it's an option. Halfings are too small, muls are too much sinew, and half-elves are too skinny. It has to be the dwarf. B.A: Drop the thought of eating other characters, ok? Just get moving. Brian: We need to find an npc…
_______________
B.A: You suddenly hear the sound of weapons clashing over the next dune. What do you do? Bob: I'll take a closer look. Dave: I'll sneak and look over the dune. Sara: I'll follow Bob and Dave. Brian: I'll remain in the back. Just in case someone tries to sneak up on us.
_______________
B.A: Bob, Dave, you reach the top of the dune and see a pair of elves fighting five hunchbacked humanoids. They appear to be a crossbred between elf and reptile, and they fight with crude, obsidian spears. The elves are obviously losing. Bob: I waste a gith with my crossbow. Dave: I fire a few poison needles with my blowgun. Sara: I tell the elves to duck and cover. Then I hurl a set of magical stones at the gith. Brian: Seeing the others are engaging in combat, I guard the rear.
_______________
B.A: The elves throw themselves to the ground as you initiate ranged attacks. All except one gith turn towards you and charge. The last gith attacks the elves. Bob: I reload and fire again. Dave: Another needle volley coming up. Sara: Is there a wind blowing? B.A: Yes. Sara: Then I'll strike them with lightning from the sky. Brian: Still guarding the rear.
_______________
B.A: Ok, guys, your attacks fell two of the gith, then the lightning strikes. A plume of sand and glass chards rise from the ground. All that remains of the charging gith are charred, smoking bodies. The last gith pulls his spear from the chest of one of the elves, who does not move. The other elf screams and leaps at him with a bone shortsword in hand. The elf slashes madly at the gith, felling him. Then he drops to his knees and embraces the body of his dead female companion. Bob: Yadayada. We loot the corpses. Dave: Yeah, but let's wait with that elf gal til he's done mourning. Sara: I walk over to the grieving elf and try to comfort him. Brian: I join the rest of the party and inform them there was no enemies sneaking up on us.
______________
B.A: You're unable to retrieve anything of value from the charred gith corpses. Sara, you engage in conversation with the elf. You find out he is Jebai of the Juda Rai tribe, and his fallen companion is the chief's daughter. Sara: I ask him for directions to the nearest oasis. Brian: Good call, Sara. B.A: He explains the way to an oasis a couple of miles to the east. In fact, he will be happy to guide you. Sara: I thank him.
______________
B.A: You reach the oasis. It is surrounded by vegetation and a pair of four ton lizards known as mekillots. One of the mekillots is dead, and the other seems to be resting. Sara: I ask the elf if the mekillots are dangerous. B.A: He says they're unpredictable, but will probably remain calm unless disturbed. Bob: Good to know. Dave: Wouldn't want to be stepped on by that thing. Brian: Is the water safe? ______________
B.A: The elf goes to taste the water. He gives you an affirmative nod and starts to drink. Besides a little mud, it's perfectly ok. Bob: Ok, I quench my thirst. Dave: Me too. Sara: I drink. Brian: I drink, but I keep an eye on the live mekillot. B.A: Ok, you sate your thirst. Now all you need is something to eat.
______________
Bob: Let's eat that dead mekillot. I walk over to it. Dave: I'm right behind you, dude. Sara: What about the other mekillot? The live one? B.A: The elf is about to shout out a warning, when the live mekillot rises and bellows. It starts to walk towards you. The ground trembles for each step. Bob: I run. Dave: Me too. B.A: The elf shouts that the mekillot has a softer underbelly if anyone is going to attack it. Sara: Marvellous hint, B.A. Brian: Dave, you're the smallest. Roll under it and strike upwards with your shortsword. Dave: I'm on it, dude. Bob: I pepper it with crossbow bolts.
______________
B.A: Dave, you roll under the mekillot and prepare your strike, when suddenly the mekillot drops on all four, impaling itself on Dave's sword. Too bad the halfling is crushed beneath the weight of the gigantic lizard. Apparently some kind of defensive reaction. The elf says "oops". Bob: Hehe. Too bad, dude. Dave: Hrmf. Sara: You saved the party, Dave. Even if you died. Brian: Hehe.
______________
B.A: You all stop laughing as you are struck by agonizing pains in the abdominal region. Apparently the water had poison type X in it, which grants no saving throws and inescapable death. You all fall dead, except the elf, who is laughing himself silly. So roll up some new characters. Bob: What?! That no good… Dave: Ha! Payback's a be-utch. Sara: Hrmf… Brian: …
_____________
B.A: Let's run a city-based campaign this time. What're you playing? Bob: I'm playing Gerok, a mean son of a gun mul gladiator. My psi is mental domination. Dave: And I'm playing his brother, Merok, who is also a mean son of a gun mul gladiator. My psi is mental resistance. Sara: I'm playing Juda, a halfling thief/ranger. I have farsight psi. Brian: I'm running Black Sinister, a shadowdefiler/psionicist. The first thing I'm going to do is buy everyone a drink at the nearest bar. B.A, here's a note. Sara: That's nice of you, Brian. Juda accepts the offer. Dave: You've found the way to Merok's heart. Bob: And Gerok's heart, too.
____________
B.A: Ok, you all receive your drinks. They're cheap, and taste accordingly. You chat a little, and after a while you all feel drowsy. Bob: What? We've been drugged? Dave: That barkeep's dead. Sara: For once, I agree. Brian: Guys, it's normal - this Derk Zun grog is pretty strong stuff. Bob: Oh, okay, then. Dave: Yeah. Sara: Oh, I didn't know that.
_____________
B.A: Ok, you all fall asleep, except Brian. Brian: Good, I'll fulfill my agreement with the barkeep. Sara: Brian, what's going on? Brian: Oh, nothing. You're just going to be sold as slaves. Bob: That's it, I'm outta here. We're back to square one. Dave: Yeah, this sux. Sara: I say it again: with friends like you, who needs enemies? |
