| #1Aaron_HighcolorAug 09, 2010 17:51:01 | Now before you start on the "no piracy" rant, I'm looking for a digital copy because I'm LOATHE to tear my map out of my DSCS book. Anyone? |
| #2ian.thomsonAug 09, 2010 21:11:50 | You don't want a no piracy rant? Too bad. |
| #3fortmanAug 09, 2010 21:13:11 | Back to seriousness for a bit, if you have DDI, the map gallery should be available soon enough. |
| #4kungfujoeAug 09, 2010 21:15:33 | Now before you start on the "no piracy" rant, I'm looking for a digital copy because I'm LOATHE to tear my map out of my DSCS book. You can likely wait for the Art Gallery for DSCS to be up, but the map will probably be low-res. I believe this map remains fairly accurate for 4e: www.digitalwanderer.net/darksun/ |
| #5mouthymercAug 09, 2010 21:59:09 | Back to seriousness for a bit, if you have DDI, the map gallery should be available soon enough. There is one with the group of Creature Catalog artwork just released. |
| #6fortmanAug 09, 2010 22:15:22 | Oh yeah, missed those for some reason. ![]() |
| #7Aaron_HighcolorAug 10, 2010 14:56:08 | Thanks all![]() |
| #8digglesAug 11, 2010 4:20:57 | Now before you start on the "no piracy" rant, I'm looking for a digital copy because I'm LOATHE to tear my map out of my DSCS book. I hear rumor of a device capable of capturing images of inanimate objects. They call them.....scanners! BEWARE OF THE LIGHT, IT CAN CAUSE BLINDNESS! |
| #9Aaron_HighcolorAug 12, 2010 16:30:13 | Now before you start on the "no piracy" rant, I'm looking for a digital copy because I'm LOATHE to tear my map out of my DSCS book. Ah, but going back to my original post, that would require me to tear the map out of my campaign setting book, which I DON'T want to do. ![]() |
| #10RalofTyrAug 12, 2010 23:31:34 |
Buy another book then... |
| #11digglesAug 13, 2010 5:23:03 | Now before you start on the "no piracy" rant, I'm looking for a digital copy because I'm LOATHE to tear my map out of my DSCS book. Its called a flatbed scanner, they come in all sizes. Most have cool hinges so you could scan a page out of a 1ft thick dictionary if you wanted too |
| #12FlashbackJonAug 13, 2010 9:20:26 | Its called a flatbed scanner, they come in all sizes. Most have cool hinges so you could scan a page out of a 1ft thick dictionary if you wanted too It's called ruining the binding of a book so that ALL of the pages eventually come out instead. |
| #13Aaron_HighcolorAug 13, 2010 21:04:53 | And besides, I'd still have to tear the map out, which is what I don't want to do.... |
| #14digglesAug 13, 2010 23:58:29 | Its called a flatbed scanner, they come in all sizes. Most have cool hinges so you could scan a page out of a 1ft thick dictionary if you wanted too Opening a book 150 degrees will not ruin the binding. I've scanned dozens of pages from my RPG books. You arent running a history muesum, the **** is supposed to be used. |
| #15gujiaxianSep 07, 2010 18:26:09 | So, has no one scanned the Athas map from the DSCS? I just want a digital copy. |
| #16MockSep 07, 2010 18:44:39 | Someone here has, but is reluctant to distribute the file because it's not his to do so. I can dig it. |
| #17gujiaxianSep 07, 2010 19:41:07 | I own the 4E books, but I don't have the scanner to scan the map myself. I'd really appreciate it if someone could even toss me a private message with the file (can you do that on these forums?) |
| #18gujiaxianSep 08, 2010 11:52:43 | No one? C'mon, help out a fellow Dark Sun-er...okay, that's not quite the term I was looking for, but my point stands. |
| #19MockSep 08, 2010 14:19:18 | No one? C'mon, help out a fellow Dark Sun-er...okay, that's not quite the term I was looking for, but my point stands. The thread where I saw a user had a map was started by The Capn (maybe TheCapn?) - it's called Hex Map of Athas, I think. |
| #20moxcamelSep 08, 2010 15:05:08 | No one? C'mon, help out a fellow Dark Sun-er...okay, that's not quite the term I was looking for, but my point stands. Did post #4 in this thread not help? |
| #21gujiaxianSep 08, 2010 15:53:26 | It's something, yes, but I need a file I can download, hack apart for my campaign, load into Masterplan, etc. |
| #22MockSep 08, 2010 21:00:01 | Note that the map linked in post #4 is also available if you just Google image search for "athas maps". You won't find the one from the 4E books, but that one is available. |
| #23plassteelSep 09, 2010 16:07:34 | So you going to send us the moeny to buy a second book? |
| #24FlashbackJonSep 09, 2010 17:44:22 | I'm seriously just confused why my DDI subscription doesn't qualify me for map images that are bigger than a computer screen. Grar. |
| #25MockSep 13, 2010 13:10:57 | The DDI article/feature/whatever "Traveling the Sandswept Roads" includes a very high-res copy of the map. |
