| #1Negflar2099Dec 09, 2010 16:23:01 | I'm very interested in playing Dark Sun but I haven't cobbled the extra money together to buy the books yet. I do have one thing I was wondering about though, when you create a PC for the setting do you have to pick a theme? I looked over the themes, and while they seem to cover a lot of territory I can imagine creating a character that none of the themes apply to. If I don't pick a theme is my character going to be behind the power curve? How much more powerful does a theme make a PC? Thanks. |

I wish other classes had cantrips. As for my current campaign, most are using the character builder or pregens. Adding to the characters a theme might throw them off. |

I've created mine: Sunwarped It uses the Spellscarred powers for theme powers. you could, you know, create a theme "jungle hunter" and talk to your dm to build one using ranger and seeker powers. |

My advice is that if you are not comfortable with any of the themes yet, wait until situations are different and you think a certain theme you like fits your PC. Also, the DSCG states that even if you start with a theme, you can totally switch to a different one if you wanted and with reason. |

The other is the last of his slaughtered tribe, a travelling assassin looking for clues as to who killed his family. |
