I had the chance to hear about one of the adventures and I immediately said to myself, "I hope Jared ends up writing that". And if that art matches your adventure... wow. Awesome. Dragon adds two more articles, and I've loved that thri-kreen cover since I first saw it! I even shaped a bit of one of my articles around it even though it was for another article. I hope fans enjoy my contributions. I felt really fortunate during the writing process and even more so now as I look back on it. I hope the articles are useful to fans and add something to the setting. This issue is a bit bittersweet. I think the amount of Dark Sun content will drop after this, and we have D&D Next on the horizon. It is truly fantastic that we, on a fan level, managed to bring Dark Sun back (especially people on these forums, on list servers, and on Athas.org). I absolutely love how the setting came together in 4E. And, really, we ended up with a lot of content. Dark Sun has a really solid history and fan base now. I also draw some comfort that Dark Sun tends to show up toward the later part of an edition. It seems to mean it is truly unique and done well. I hope we see that in the future. I know we'll all be pulling for that to happen and probably working our tails off to make it so. Sand in my eye... |
