I originally created this article on spec for WotC. My original pitch was a new race, but they didnt want to input a race into DDI so they asked me to write it as a complete reskin of the Half-Orc. So I did, however they said that my fluff was too Dark Sun specific and that DDI subscribers may feel that they were getting shorted by having it as a complete reskin. So they passed, but still allowed me to post it.

My PCs have killed many a tarek and they are about to meet up with the leader of a tarek slaver group they have already almost completely decimated...she is an earth shaman, and her companion is a thri-kreen defiler, so I have been working on a story that makes those two opposites work, and your article is definitely helping. (I've been seeing her as corrupted, evil, viewing earth spirits as something to be dominated and exploited).
