(page 208) using that I could always have some of the driven away god(s) return in an attempt to reclaim what they lost since it’s clear that the promordials have long since gone off on their merry way. I could also use forgotten realms lore since the world was divided in order to preserve the gods world as the promordials ravaged the other, you could always say that Athas is that second world before the spell plague (hence the land returned after the plague for FR still counting) and the Astral Sea having a portion divided from the original cosmology but is in essence empty and destroyed as if it had been ripped away with that world. keeping an eye on the DDI has helped in two cases for the world if I wanted to include gods or some divine power the first was the recent 'dead gods' segment going to the Astral sea to claim the body and power of a long dead god or Slain Promordial to battle the sorcerer-kings and the dragon of Tyr (ether to take their place or to attempt to restore life to the world). The other I could use the end of the 'Scales of war: those once loyal' though without the whole Tiamat portion (though she could also be reborn as a result of reviving Bahamut using the arrow) just have some minor changes to the city and people encountered for example have Amyria a sharp tongued thief or a temperamental slave that you need to catch or free in order to use her visions to find and use the arrow in order to awaken divine power. How about you guys? |

Athas works so much better when there is no divine cause in the mythos, IMHO. Cthulhu worked so much better with out the Elder Gods (IMHO) and I believe Athas is better with out gods (IMHO). YMMV, of course. |
