These are just the previews, click a map to go to my gallery, then click 'full size image' to get the huge picture. So if you want to use them feel free.
The game I used them with is the first link in my sig, if you want to see how things played out. I altered the encounters a bit to make them more in-depth. Like in encounter 2, everyone is sick of fighting kruthiks since they are overused in 4e, so I switched it to a few kanks and a swarm of kestrekels from the new DS Creature Catalog.
Encounter 1: Hunting Party

Encounter 2: Plundered Wagon

Encounter 3: Broken Tower

Bonus map: Defiled Farm
The original farm was pristine, but during battle some defiling took place. Then I saved over the old one. I dont feel like fixing it in maptools, so have a defiled farm.

| #3ritorixOct 04, 2010 0:33:53 | I used Maptools, which lets you put a grid on top. Here's the same maps with a grid, same grid scale I used to run them. Click for big files again.

| #5ritorixOct 11, 2010 19:26:01 | I used this one for Vault of Darom Madar encounter 1-1: Crimson Oasis.
New one, an oasis in a sinkhole somewhere in the wastelands. This was my inspiration, don't know who took this but it really has that 'Athas' vibe, life clinging to the edges:

So the idea is that cliffs line the outside of the sinkhole, and down at the bottom is mud and plantlife surrounding the water. During play I ruled the 'dark' mud around the oasis as 'mud sinks' from the DS creature catalog. Step inside (or get pushed) and it might immobilize you.
Little details like footprint trails from random animals show its an active place, full of life in the desert. The tents nearby can host raiders, refugees or the players.
