I wonder when he'll realize he can't do it. Actually, I think more will happen before he does. After a century or two, he'll start to wonder why it isn't working, do some research, he'll find out he lacks something

I'm not sure if can find out about the spiritual conduits without perhaps seeking the aid of a Deity on another world. After all, those deities wouldn't want people, including Dregoth messing with their conduits (as they are their lifelines) so he probably won't ever discover them with magical or psionic means. Unless, maybe if he goes to say Toril, and becomes a god there first. Say, a god dies and Ao chooses him as his replacement, then he'll at least learn about conduits. Then learn he can't have one on Athas.

It leaves it open ended really, all it says in city by the silt sea is that he can't make a conduit. It doesn't say why so it's up to the DM to decide why (provided he doesn't want Dregoth becoming a god either)

Another thing is how would Dregoth get to another prime world? I really hate how the designers really don't think it out very well. I, at least prefer there only be one prime material plane, with all the game worlds on it, in the same universe, not alterates and alternates of each (ala sliders) it couldn't be used to open a gate to Toril, or Krynn or Greyhawk because they are on the same plane. Furthermore, have you taken a look at the description of the gate? It uses 1 psp a round to keep the connection open and it only has 100 something psp's!

Wow, you get a whopping 3 hours and 20 minutes at most before it shuts off and leaves you stranded on the other plane. Happy planeswalking Dregoth!
