| #2alexandraerinSep 14, 2010 21:22:19 | Two guesses: probably somebody felt it was a stretch to call him a "Personage", and they figured people would flip to D for Dragon before they thought to check the back. Also, he's a handy stat block if somebody wants to do a Sorcerer-King Ascendant story. |
| #3Lord_VentnorSep 14, 2010 21:26:20 | My guess is that most people on Athas view the dragon as a terrifying force of nature rather than a sentient being. |
| #4charybdisSep 15, 2010 0:37:16 | Also, he's referred to as THE Dragon, so he should definately be put under D. The general populous don't know him as Borys of Ebe, or that he was once a mortal. They also don't know that their Sorceror-Kings are in line to become dragons themselves, or that those Slave taxes are off to the chopping block to keep Rajaat imprisoned. So, it's just easier to put him into D for Dragon ![]() |

Because the personages of athas can be allies, where as the dragon will almost always be a foe with the rare exception. You can work for a merchant house, city-state or tribe easier and more often than you can work with/for the dragon. At least, that's my guess. I always thought the dragon should have been in the personages of athas section, myself. As a DM, the second campaign I ran could be centered around working for the dragon. Advancing through the entire character career as minions of the dragon. 29 levels of working for the dragon could be a ton of fun, with the players playing the villains. Give the DM a chance to use encounters the players might never face. Like fighting Sadira and the other heroes of tyr, taking control of tyr and becoming the new sorcerer king(s) of tyr. Hell, even hunting down and slaying avangions. Then the next campaign could be the new characters attempting to undo what the villains have done. |

Well, there's one and he is definitely cool. Although he used to be a 'personage' he's now really more akin to a destructive force of nature than a being with whom you could reason with |
| #7ian.thomsonSep 15, 2010 7:21:04 | It's not that he's incapable of reason, he just has no more reason to deal with you than you do with a wingless fly. You've got nothing he wants, you can't threaten him, and you're gonna die of old age before you stick around long enough to even register as a person in his mind. He's not even going to see you as a person, why see him as such? Granted, the SKs don't fully see people as people either, but they still will deal with them. |

I suspect that's the truest answer, because that's the first thing I did upon getting the book in my hands. |
