Are the Dark Sun Campaign Setting and Dark Sun Creature Catalog the only two publications we are going to get in 4e? (I am not counting Marauders of the Dune Sea as this is only a poor dungeon crawl with a bit of sand and a lot of nonsense in it)

I have been looking at the release calendar and there is nothing on the horizon for 2011, while the DS books have been out since last summer.

While I have been happy (and nostalgic) to dust off my 2e material, it still takes a lot of work to adapt everything to 4e... It would be nice to see a bit more 4e DS material published... or is it that DS is not doing so well in 4e?

In any case, what would you guys like to see come out next?

I would like to see:
- 1 decent adventure per quarter (that's right!)
- DSCC 2
- Fluff publications (Like Dune Traders, Specific towns/regions, Slave Tribes, or race specific supplements)

PS: Sorry for going in all directions with this

Those things would be nice, but you are not going to get them.  Dark sun was last year's campagin setting, the third of the the three that they published.  Each got two hardbacks, and no substantial material thereafter.

This year lacks an equivenlant product, instead they are doing a Neverwinter product, to tie in with a video game, but it has taken them three years to get back to the realms, and that was only to support another product.  I really like the Darksun material, but other than Dragon/Dungeon articles now and again there will likely not be much else published.

Despite being the newest campaign setting, Dark Sun is probably the best supported of the three when it comes to the DDI magazines (its a constant presence, unlike the other two).  Look there for continued support.  I saw that you wanted an adventure a quarter...DS already has had 3, two of which were excellent.

It's true that support for DS still comes through in Dragon and Dungeon Magazine but I too would like to see something more substantial akin to the old days of 2nd edition.  DS has always been my favorite TSR setting and despite reading and enjoying articles like Eldaarich in Dungeon #186 that introduces a whole new city and Sorcerer-King which is a very different world from 2e, I also want to see better modules and/or sourcebooks than that shameful Mauraders module.

Humm well I am not a DDI subscriber, so I guess that is why I am missing out... The problem is that I am pretty old school when it comes to those things and I like my adventures printed on nice paper and in a nice box with illustrations, etc. that I can put in my bookcase.. I don't like to get it electronically...

If I subscribe to DDI can I access to DS articles retroactively?

Yep, you'll get access to all of the DDI magazines, as well as the tools.

EDIT - Here is the list of DS support in the DDI magazines:

Dragon 364 - "Campaign Classics:  Hazards of Dark Sun" (stats for the dew frond, sand cactus, and spider cactus)

Dragon 390 - "The Slave Theme" (new theme and paragon path) and "Playing Templars"

Dragon 391 - "Hunters in the Wasteland" and "Winning Races: Mul" (actually a core world article for porting muls to other campaign settings, but useable for a DS game)

Dragon 393 - "Dark Sun Grandmaster Training"

Dragon 395 - "The Primal Spirits of Athas"

Dragon 396 - "The Genasi of Athas"

Dragon 397 - "Power Play:  Familiars of Athas"

Dungeon 179 - "Eye on Dark Sun:  Sunwarped Flats"

Dungeon 180 - "Eye on Dark Sun:  The Dragon's Altar"

Dungeon 181 - "The Vault of Darom Madar" (adventure) and "Eye on Dark Sun:  Mar Juk-Adan"

Dungeon 182 - "Eye on Dark Sun:  The Broken Builders"

Dungeon 183 - "Revenge of the Marauders" (adventure) and "Eye on Dark Sun:  Magma Elementals"

Dungeon 184 - "Eye on Dark Sun:  Silt Elementals"

Dungeon 186 - "Eye on Dark Sun:  Eldaarich"

Dungeon 187 - "Beneath the Dust" (adventure), "Eye on Dark Sun:  The Heartwood Spear", and "Dark Sun Threats"

Dungeon 188 - Eye on Dark Sun (unpublished at this time)

Wow! Thanks... I HAVE been missing out!!  Thanks very much for the list, very useful.

Once I have access to these as a DDI subscriber, do I get to save them on my computer (and they are mine forever such as my good ol' paper books and supplements) or do I lose access to them as soon as my DDI subscription expires?

They're PDFs, so once you save them to your computer, they're yours forever (or as long as your computer lasts).
