A new Eye on Dark Sun article.  Thoughts?  A tie in to the shadow theme this month.  Only glanced at it, but it seems interesting.

Finished reading it this morning. Interesting stuff.
Current group isnt playing Dark Sun, so no way to work it into the game.. but definitely something to think about.

It was okay. More information depending on how you want your DS world to be. I doubt I will be using it in my campaign but who knows. Maybe the PC's stumble upon an ORB that will take them to the Shadowfell...

This was a great article for anyone who remembers 2e Dark Sun and/or 2e Ravenloft.  It's a great expansion of the current DS world/lore, and it ties Kalidnay into the Shadowfell and calls out enough of the 2e Ravenloft lore for Kalidnay as well.

Plus, you get a Level 30 solo, so there's even some support for Epic teir play *AND* a new artifact.

I loved it.  It gave me a lot of good ideas to incorporate into a campaign I've been planning.

Yes, it was a good article.  Whether you incorporate the artifact as something to find by the players or as something to stop being found, it makes for an interesting item.  Also, it is a good way to introduce races such as the shadar-kai or shades into the setting.

I liked the nod to the various older bits of info. The mists, for example. Well done. All of these articles placing new locations on the 4E map made me want to go there with my campaign. I really think these are some of the most interesting pieces Dungeon has done for any setting.

Isn't the mist just the Domain of Dread stuff that keep everyone but the Vistani trapped? I thought that was still in 4E? 0.o

It is, however I am glad that it isn't canonized in the new Kalidnay article. You can certainly opt for a tie in between it and Ravenloft as presented previously in 2e but even in the previous version it was a section of Ravenloft cut-off from all other regions so even mentioning it as being a part of Ravenloft was rather a moot point all in all. Kalidnay was just the obligatory 'must include something from all settings' Dark Sun inclusion into another cross setting game.

I never understood this, why put it in ravenloft if you could not cross into or out of it...

See the way I always understood it was that however you got stuck/brought into a Domain of Dread you were stuck there until the situation was resolved (ie Kalid-Ma being awakened/killed/stopped). The only people who could cross were the Vistani, and even Straudh (sp?) stayed away from them. I'm a big fan of DS so if I ran a RL game I'd probably have the party stuck in Kalidnay for a little over eternity xD
