I am looking for a copy of the Dark Sun adventure which was provided as part of the kits for Free RPG Day 2010.
I started volunteering as an Organizer for D&D events at my FLGS this year, and missed out on getting the info for the kits before they were no longer accepting sign-ups/requests. To add insult to injury; I made contact with one of the sponsors through Facebook and found out that our FLGS could still get partial kits, but the store's manager (or Owner) would have to handle the formalities.

The part that makes this so bad, is that the 2 people who could handle it failed to communicate who was actually going to do so & ended up leaving us without anything at all being sent to the store.

So if anyone happens to have any spare D&D materials (particularly the Dark Sun Adventure) from Free RPG Day 2010; please contact me here in the Wizards Community so that we can discuss details.

THANKS in advance,
-Vin

Well it won't be free, but there are a couple copies on eBay.  I went to a local participating gaming store, and was way too late.  I was told they flew out the door long before I arrived.  People love Dark Sun, and they especially love FREE!!

I went to two different stores.  One was fantastic.  Everything was free, but they did limit you to taking one of either the D&D freebie or the Fantasy Flight freebie since they were the most popular and least supplied.  I should also note that they did not receive any of the Q Workshop dice, so they put their entire stock of Q Workshop dice on sale for 50% off.

Another store I went to required you to make a purchase at the store.  Each freebie was worth 5 points (some were worth 3).  Each $5 you spent was worth 1 point.  IMHO, completely stupid and against the spirit of what Free RPG Day was trying to accomplish.

I got my WotC mod and grabbed the Pathfinder freebie as well, simply for the map in the front.  The store owner said he won't be doing it next year though as the selection from most of the companies was so sad he didn't see the point and he gets stuck with almost everything except for the stuff Wizards, Paizo, and Fantasy Flight puts out.  Sadly it seems next year there will be no Free RPG Day in town next year.

Hope you can get a copy of the mod it's really well done and the map that came with it is awesome.  Maybe WotC will pdf it in the furture such as they did the free module a couple years ago.

At least you guys have a gaming store you can go to. I couldn't have gotten any of the freebie stuff if I'd wanted to...which I did.

I had a heck of a time finding a participating store.  There are several local stores running the Encounters program but I could only find one involved with the Free RPG day.  I actually showed up just as the store owner was opening the box of free stuff and the DS adventure was right on top.  I would try to grab one from Ebay before they are all gone.  Now if I could just snag my very own copy of Fury of the Wastewalker I would be ecstatic.  Good luck buddy!

Post got eaten, but at any rate, yeah, it wasn't just your game store - this event was a flop, in general, for the entire Phoenix area. No one seemed to care about Game Day this year.

On a personal note, I hate people that scoop up free stuff just to sell it on ebay. At the store I went to, they said someone tried to walk off with the whole stack of DS adventures because it was "free". I bet he wanted to make a profit.

I can't make any promises here, but last year's Free RPG adventure was eventually put up as a download here on the site. Take that for what it's worth.

Hey Webster,
Thanks for the little something to hope for...

I am really really really hoping to get the whole DS package though, just so I can hold a "late showing"  for our players who missed out due to our circumstances.

I hope, (more than hope) the free DS adventure becomes available for download. I need to find the free downloads, I take it they're in the archives?

Khyber's Harvest is indeed available.  Not sure how long after the Free RPG Day it went up, though.

Thanks for the link to this, since I hadn't been around for last year's stuff, due to RL keeping me away from gaming for a couple years...
When I came back 4e was well under way & I had to play a lot of "catch up" fast.  As soon as I finished my crash course in the new edition; I went out to rebuild our community's  Public Gaming , volunteered as the Event Organizer for D&D at my FLGS, and promptly started spreading the word about the upcoming games/events.
I am pleased to say that the efforts have been a huge success, bringing about 2 dozen gamers out of the shadows of "no games to play" & bringing them together for LFR play. I am now reaching a point where LFR isn't the feel some of the players are into; yet discovered that those same players absolutely love the Dark Sun Encounters.
With a desire to keep the players from drifting back to the shadows, I am trying to get my hands on as many legally free Dark Sun resources as possible. As my personal budget allows, I intend to purchase the new 4e Dark Sun books as well.

**All that aside**
I implore of each of you to spread the word around your FLGS & gaming groups to see if there is anyone that has 1 set of the 2010 Free RPG Day materials that they are willing to part with.
Please let them know that I'm more than willing to pay for shipping, but feel that paying for the materials defeats the purpose of them being given away for free in the 1st place.
