Multi-class cleric & elemental priest theme - questions

For our upcoming campaign I came up with the idea to play a half-giant barbarian who has the elemental priest theme and would use a feat to multiclass cleric. My DM and I fully realize "the gods are silent" but found a way to roleplay in why I'm multi-classed as a cleric...

My question is: do the "normal" Dark Sun campaign rules allow for clerics at all? Using the new character generator I am not able to choose ANY divine class (like paladins, or clerics). On page 10 in the Dark Sun Campaign Book, however, there is a small mention about how DM's and players may work in divine characters.

Along with this question, and perhaps this is a question better suited for the character generator forums, is there a way to "break" the rules in the character generator? If divine classes are "strictly forbidden" by rules standards, how can I circumvent that rule using the wizards character generator?

Thanks a ton!

Divine classes in Dark Sun would be a houserule I think.
Houserules have not been implemented in the new CB as far as I know, it's on the to-do list.

So, the CB won't help you here, but nothing stops you from working something out with your DM as you seem to have done.

Happy gaming!

So, until Themes make their way into general campaigns (or houserule come into the CB), I would: make a custom Cleric character through the "Home Campaign" rules, and print out the Elemental Priest theme powers from the Compendium (or by making a placeholder Dark Sun character that just has the Elemental Priest theme / powers). Imperfect, but it'll do.
