| #1Cyber-DaveFeb 04, 2011 13:19:24 | So, if I could convince WotC to publish what I want, this is what I would get them to release: the city state adventure site series (one product like Vor Rukoth or Hammerfast for each city state, including Guistinal); the Dragon of Tyr Icon's line miniature; the Sorcerer King miniature set (a product something along the lines of the recently released beholder set, but with each of the sorcerer kings, and their various shapes, in it); the Monster of Athas counter set (a package of high quality cardboard counter pieces for all the monsters found in the DSCC, similar to the sort of counters found in the Monster Vault product). What would you want? |
| #2big_goonFeb 04, 2011 13:32:24 | An Arenas of Athas board game with (I'm dreaming here): plastic monster minis (or tokens) from the creature catalog, and some/all of the Sorcerer-Kings and maybe a Dragon of Tyr; a customizable tile-set for arena encounters; rulebook; additional DS wild talents and rewards |
| #3naxelFeb 04, 2011 14:21:26 | As a rule, I hate the whole board game thing Hasbro/Wizards is putting out for D&D but, as a rule, I love everything Dark Sun. My universe is exploding now... I'd like to see a second campaign guide, detailing the Jagged Cliffs and having pterrans and aaracockra PC races. Maybe the Valley of Dust & Fire as an epic level super adventure like they released Revenge of the Giants and Tomb of Horrors |
| #4FeetzFeb 04, 2011 14:36:41 | At the the top of my list would be tokens for DS monsters. Everything mentioned so far would be great though. |
| #5khorne37Feb 04, 2011 15:35:59 | I agree the adventures I can make. I am converting a lot of the 2nd edition adventures over and it so easy because encounter buiding is easy. It is the tokens I need. Sure I can make my own but that is a lot of cutting glueing. |
| #6ScynerFeb 05, 2011 17:19:10 | Want to see: The kind of "pure fluff" suppplements you saw in 2e (Slave Tribes, Dune Trader, etc) or maybe a DSCS2... and more adventures (obviously they'd have to be of much higher quality than Marauders of the Dune Sea). |
| #7OzmodiousFeb 05, 2011 21:22:22 | A Dark Sun Token set would be top of the list. Would have liked to see minis but sure doesn't look hopeful for that. Agree with the city state books as my second. I think if they would release accessories more so than adventures it would be better because I am sure there will be plenty in Dungeon Magazine throughout the year that will be much better than the only published module so far. A little dedication is always nice. Was disappointed with the Desert Tiles as they had water and a boat on them making it trash in my opinion. |
| #8ockyflamFeb 06, 2011 17:20:46 | I'd like Dark Sun tokens - but as WOTC has cancelled all minis it's unlikely we'll ever see dark sun miniatures. |
| #9fromost_the_grimm_02Feb 06, 2011 19:01:58 | a) Dark Sun minis. A 'monsters' set, with a few sculpts of iconic monsters, and a 'heroes' set with bald dwarves, buff mul, tall elves and feral halflings. One or two figures that could be used as Sorcerer-Kings, defilers, etc. A 'Dragon of Tyr' gargantuan/huge figure would complement WotC's iconic range well ... not only does our emaciated Borys differ from the more generic dragons, but he just looks plain nasty. b) Dark Sun tokens. For the more common creatures such as silt runners or gith that existing plastic minis can cover well. Larger-scale tokens for mounts such as kanks and inix. c) a colour battlemap (or poster-sized under-mat) depicting a relatively plain open stretch of desert. Throw the odd shrub in here, the odd wagonwheel-track there, maybe a few spots of difficult terrain for good measure, and it should add flavour to most if not all of one's desert-based encounters. |
| #10white_starFeb 08, 2011 21:48:21 | 1) Dark Sun Minis as described by Grimm. Forget the tokens, tokens suck. Minis even if licensed to a 3rd party. 2) More fluff as seen in 2e, even if only modernized with 4e rules. 3) DS creatures in monster builder. |
| #11manderssonFeb 12, 2011 1:07:31 | I would be so down with those pure fluff supplements suggested. The main ones I would want are the ones detailing the Merchant Houses, and ones that expand outside of the Tyr region. If I remember correctly, isn't there a Three-Kreen kingdom to the west? If so I think that would be an awesome fluff book. |
| #12ScynerFeb 13, 2011 9:48:50 | Seeing a lot of requests for minis, when I was playing Dark Sun 2e some 15 years ago, I remember painting a bunch PC and NPCs metal minis way back when (still have them somewhere in a shoe box)... Aren't those available anymore or on ebay at least? Or are people looking at pre-painted stuff only these days? |
| #13Bly2729Feb 13, 2011 20:31:23 | I'd like to see an updated version of "The Road to Urik" adventure. The first half is light on combat, long on political intrigue. The second half would make those guys on the podcast put their money where their mouth is and actually publish a large scale battlefield adventure. They said they want to get creative with Dungeons and Dragons, how about translating that to published adventures before we fix what ain't broke like the character classes? |
| #14DontEatRawHagisFeb 14, 2011 11:10:11 | Dark Sun The Video Game: You have the old ones but I would definetely like an MMO set in the universe. I like the world but its hard right now for me to set up games right now. Other than that: A Dejarik(Star Wars Holotable) with Dark Sun Holograms. Impossible I know but at least I wouldn't have to pay for minis, instead a giant table that is a computer. |
| #15OzmodiousFeb 18, 2011 9:57:21 | Seeing a lot of requests for minis, when I was playing Dark Sun 2e some 15 years ago, I remember painting a bunch PC and NPCs metal minis way back when (still have them somewhere in a shoe box)... Ebay has them alright- they are expensive and keep going up since DS was released because of demand. Last set I seen go painted was $85- |
| #16RalofTyrFeb 19, 2011 15:51:53 | Remember the Dungeons & Dragons toy-lines they had in the early '80s? I want something like that but for Dark Sun. The Dragon of Tyr from the cover of Dragon-Kings made into an action-figure. Feral halfings, Muls, giants etc. Also, a Dark Sun cartoon would be nice, but more adult, think Sparticus: Blood and Sand, but with Dark Sun. |
| #17Bly2729Feb 20, 2011 9:52:34 | Also, a Dark Sun cartoon would be nice, but more adult, think Sparticus: Blood and Sand, but with Dark Sun. I think you can just watch Spartacus: Blood and Sand for that. I mean it might as be called "That's My Dictator!" |
| #18mouthymercFeb 20, 2011 10:09:00 | The Dragon of Tyr from the cover of Dragon-Kings made into an action-figure. Already is if you can track one down. ![]() |
