#1 Shiftkitty Aug 31, 2010 8:23:02	I did a search and didn't find this subject covered: Nibenay is a place in Dark Sun, right? (I don't have the books.) The Nibenay Valley is also a place in The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Who had it first, and is there a copyright violation going on?

#4 mouthymerc Aug 31, 2010 8:39:57	Considering that Oblivion came out in this decade (2007?) and Dark Sun came out two decades ago (91-92), it is pretty safe to assume that Dark Sun had it first. Does it matter?
#5 FlashbackJon Aug 31, 2010 12:17:34	Nibenay is also (more importantly) a person in Dark Sun, for which the place is named. You also cannot copyright a name or idea, only a body of work, so it doesn't matter.
#6 Janx_14 Aug 31, 2010 13:49:28	The original Elderscrolls game came out in the same decade as dark sun, but I am pretty sure it was still after (like 1995 ish). ES's universe was based on a D&D campaign, the original DM likely borrowed names, and they stick around today.
