| #1cmdlukeJul 02, 2010 13:31:25 | My group is going to be starting a new Dark Sun campaign when its released and I want to play an assassin that utilizes stealth and poison to take down his enemies. Basically, by the time you know he's even there, you have poison coursing through your veins that cripple you. I've seen the poisons in the DMG, but I was wondering if there are any other options as far as poisons go. (I am also aware of the spider kissed weapon and the poison master feats and PP). I'm not too familiar with the Dark Sun setting, but have there been an abundance of poison options in previous versions of the setting? would this be a viable option for Dark Sun? the character has no problems hacking his way through monsters to collect the poisons either. Is this more something i'll have to work out with my DM? |

I GM Dark Sun for 4E and if my players wanted to incorporate poison with their characters I would be happy to help implement. All we would have to do is put some Dark Sun flair on it. However your looking for specific poisons that were found in the previous settings. I don't really recall anything that stand out, but again it shouldn't be a problem. |

| #6cmdlukeJul 07, 2010 15:34:23 | thanks for the help. hadn't thought of trying to use alchemy. I looked at the Poisoner multi-class feats, but they require you to have training in nature or dungeoneering. those aren't class skills for an assassin. I'm not sure if the DM is allowing backgrounds for our characters. is it worth it to spend a feat to get skill training to get the multi-class poisoner feats? |
| #7FlashbackJonJul 07, 2010 16:18:35 | I would find it highly strange if your DM didn't allow backgrounds, but if you're really going poison-focused, the benefit for the Poisoner MC is pretty darn amazing. |

| #9PennarinJul 07, 2010 23:56:20 | I imagine there will be new backgrounds and themes from DDI after the release, and the community will cook up homebrew stuff, be sure of it. One of them will allow you to get Nature or Dungeoneering. |
| #10cmdlukeJul 08, 2010 10:41:04 | awesome. sounds great. =) |
| #11mouthymercJul 08, 2010 12:01:47 | There are plenty of backgrounds available now that can be used to give a character the relevant skills needed to take Poison Mastery feats. I'm sure we'll see more backgrounds specific to Dark Sun, though. |
