Oct 02, 2011 22:17:02 Considering a psionic defiling monk. Any ideas? Anyone have experience playing a defiler character? What about the master defiler and Dragon king?

Oct 03, 2011 7:42:34 if you make Psiconics cause defiling, that upsets many of the basic concepts of dark sun. the reason psiconics are so common is that the do not cause defiling.

Oct 03, 2011 10:22:40 There is a feat or a paragon path that causes psionic defiling. Awesome if you ask me reminds me of the old Athas where Magic and Psionics could be melded.

Psionic Defiling is a paragon tier feat that allows you to defile with psionic dailies.

Oct 03, 2011 19:24:48 So, I take it that's a no. No one has played a defiler. Yes, for the record, Psionic Defiling is a feat that allows defiling psionic Dailies. In the master defiler paragon path, with an action point, you can defile any attack. I get the impression though that not many people are using the defiling ability in play.

First, does your character have to be Psionic? If so are you taking a Arcane Theme?

If no to the above question then just switch the Psionic keyword to Arcana and then switch the Psychic damage to Force damage.

If you have to be Psionic I would probably suggest taking an arcana theme. Otherwise I might have to say you can take the Defiling, power but you don't defile the same way as Arcana. In my game I run with the idea that Psionic powers come from within the user's body, so maybe instead of defiling the land, maybe it takes life force from the user. Such as every time you use the ability with a daily power you grow a year older.
