Ideas?

Aug 23, 2010 2:28:26 I honestly think that if anyone actually has a good idea on this subject, they keep it to themselves and submit it to dragon. If you post it, they won't accept it and it would be nice to have something like this in the CB. Same with the Offspring of Abalach or other SKs.

IIRC, you pitch an idea to them first then, if they like it, they ask you to submit a full article.

Since villichi are (IIRC) supposed to be born exclusively from humans (i.e there are no elf villichi or mul villichi), it makes more sense to keep them as a race rather than a bloodline (which can be taken by anyone). With their emphasis on psionics, their Will-boosting racial power, and their bonuses to Wis and Cha (and they're likely to get an option for either Int or Dex to coincide with Essentials), kalashtar seem a pretty easy fit for villichi to me.

Basically, special female psionic users trained as warriors living in remote locations that rarely ever leave their isolated communities.

Sure you can, tons of people submit ideas. That's why dragon and dungeon have material every month. Just write up the pitch and the finished material (feats, powers, fluff) and send in the pitch. The only thing that stops anyone from submitting work to D&D magazine is the author. Wotc wants and needs contributors.

1) Anyone can submit ideas to WotC (ideas, not articles), but the co. can be in legal trouble if they use them without your permission and you can prove it. I imagine they disregard all such contributions to prevent such trouble.

2) Not many people are able to produce coherent article pitches to be offered for review (and subsequent greenlighting for publication) by WotC, with fluff and rules balanced with existing material. There are hundreds of contributors to DDI magazines...from amongst hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide; proportionally few get accepted as contributors.

Villichi are females born to normal humans. No one can predict when or where a villichi child will be born. They are shunned by normal humans, although it is considered a bad omen to turn out a villichi child. When they come of age they usually move to a convent of their kind, located somewhere in the Ringing Mountains. Villichi are very strong psionicists, and consequently, are a powerful group. Encounters with villichi are usually with an envoy, one sent to deal with a trading company or village.

Villichi resemble normal human females, albeit longer of limb and face. While they appear thin (mostly due to their height), they actually have normal proportions for human women. Villichi are usually cloaked as they are especially susceptible to the burning sun.

I think using the kalashtar race or the elan heritage feat would work for these characters.
