It is mentioned in Kraken's description: Did the creature come to Athas during the Red Age and turn the original sea to dust? I wonder, what it was. Certainly it is not age of sorcerer-kings, as there was at least one large body of water....

Blue Age (Halflings) Blue Sun Green Age (pre-Champions) Yellow Sun Red Age (Champions are created, cleansing Wars) Red Sun Age of the Sorcerer Kings (after Rajaats imprisonment, after Borys's rage) Dark Red Sun ;D Just some thoughs

Green Age: Lush and verdant world; Many humanoids with unique civilizations; Yellow sun. Red Age: The world is defiled; The earth runs red with blood; The sun is defiled. Brown Age: Desert world; Everything struggles just to survive; Red sun.

#7 Pennarin Aug 04, 2010 16:14:59	The Brown Age, IIRC, is the name given to the current age by the kreens of the Kreen Empire. The loremasters of the Tyr Region instead call it the Age of the Sorcerer-Kings.

#10 Pennarin Aug 05, 2010 19:25:30	- time immemorial - Blue Age (the halflings rule, the kreen are primitive, beginning of the World's Calendar) - brown tide cataclysm  - Rebirth (the various other races appear, the kreen become civilized) - Green Age (World's Calendar renamed King's Calendar) - Time of Magic (a subset of the Green Age, after Rajaat introduced arcane magic) - Preserver Jihad (which persists throughout the Cleansing Wars) - Cleansing Wars (starting when the sun become red from Rajaat's creation of his Champions, and marking the end of the Green Age) - imprisonment of Rajaat and birth of the Dragon (the sun becomes even redder from the transformation) - Age of the Sorcerer-Kings (current age)

Years later a more experienced Sadira of Tyr also uses the Pristine Tower to change herself into a Dragon-Queen, finally depleting the Sun of it's last energies. Athas falls into complete darkness. Through the innate psionic powers of athas flora and fauna, all living beings develope an psionic vision, making survival possible, though the temperatures are dropping, fast!)

Psions are finding it requires more and more Will to power their psionic powers. Psionics are fading away... The moons still offer a glowing light to the world. It's not a warming light, but it allows people to see - especially when both moons are in the sky. Very faint celetial lights when both are set... but a blackout when the black sun blocks even the celestial light (and bad things rise from the earth). Creatures (like those of the Underdark) become more prevailant.

Creatures (like those of the Underdark) become more prevailant.  Feel free to add as much as you like . 4. The Plants die without the sunlight and Wizards can't fuel their spells anymore. Even Preservers defile the land if they try to draw upon the energies needed. 5. Most Sunpriests are driven insane, their skin changes and they become wandering madman, sucking the heat out of anything living. The few true Sunpriests become shining lights ofhope, a sanctuary for the last stand of civilization. 6. Sadira is transformed once again, into an Shadow Dragon.
#15 RalofTyr Aug 06, 2010 16:49:56	Actually, the Red Age lasted here on Earth from 2BYA to well into 200MYA; it was caused by large amounts of oxygen being produced my mirco-organisms that turned the land red.  As soon as planets evolved, they started to break down the red.  um, carry on.
