Divine is nonexistent, arcane is illegal and used by the sorcerer-kings, primal is what the nomads and tribes worship and psionic is as common as martial. So would shadow be different or the same as in the the base setting. |

| #3FlashbackJonAug 11, 2010 12:44:33 | Since the Shadowfell exists as the Gray and shadow creatures now find their origin there instead of the Black, I think we can safely assume that the Shadow power source remains unchanged. |
| #4PennarinAug 11, 2010 14:32:55 | The new Shadow power source handbook will have Necromancer, Hexblade, and a third class. Assassin is already in Dragon Mag. I too expect no change for DS. |

Nope, sorry. I heard it from a guy that it will be a Hand Shadow Puppet Master. He's like the Bard, except that he makes hand shadow puppets. All power to the shadow master!!! |
| #7tindalosihoundAug 11, 2010 17:23:09 | Since the Shadowfell exists as the Gray and shadow creatures now find their origin there instead of the Black, I think we can safely assume that the Shadow power source remains unchanged. My guess is, the Black is a Domain of dread in the Gray, filled with Shadow Giants, obsidian, the Maeneds (Shadar-kai), and a large hole in the universe the giants call "the hollow". Other domains of dread would be Kalidnay, and the Thri-kreen afterlife called Kano. |

Like the hand puppet scene from Killer Klowns from Outer Space! :D |
| #9EisenritterAug 11, 2010 22:15:43 | The new Shadow power source handbook will have Necromancer, Hexblade, and a third class. Assassin is already in Dragon Mag. Wording was "Necromancer, Hexblade, and Assassin." Which I take to mean they realize the first stab at it was proper horribad. ![]() |
| #10MusicOfCreationAug 11, 2010 22:21:08 | The new Shadow power source handbook will have Necromancer, Hexblade, and a third class. Assassin is already in Dragon Mag. Agreed. How can you take one of the coolest prior classes/PrCs and make it so uninteresting? The worst part is that an optimized Assassin deviates so far away from the concept. When was the last time someone was assassinated by a Fullblade? |
| #11celticmuttAug 11, 2010 23:27:03 | The new Shadow power source handbook will have Necromancer, Hexblade, and a third class. Assassin is already in Dragon Mag. One of the WotC staff (I think Mearls) swore up and down at GenCon that the Assassin and Revenant would not be in HoS; instead they will get supplemental articles in Dragon when Heroes of the Fallen Lands and Heroes of Shadow come out. Frankly, I hope he's wrong. I want Assassin to come out in the book, because the book stuff always gets better support than the articles. |
| #12PennarinAug 12, 2010 0:33:55 | An Athasian Domain of Dread (the other could be Kalidnay) of deepest shadows called the Black, contained within the Gray (Shadowfell), which would have at its center Rajaat's prison of the Hollow...nnnnnice! Plus in the novels the shadow giants are seen taking orders from right outside Rajaat's prison in the Black. This can work. What do people think? |
