Sorry, when and if my group make it to near the required level and date I plan to use your review.  But as the characters in my group are 6th level, in Free Year 3, it's going to be a while.

Somehow, I was just curious as if someone ever did run the game.

I ran DA. I agree with most of your concerns especially on the following points:

- Grogh-En and the Star of Badna

Grogh-En can stand to be made a bit more beefier than he is. That, or some lesser undead should be added to the encounter in order to challenge the PCs more. The party I ran this for ripped through this encounter and completely destroyed him once they realized he was regenerating. I'd suggest down playing Grogh's fast healing and not having him rise till after the PCs have left the tomb so he can latter be used to track down the Star.

I'd also recommend DMs make it that teleportation doesn't work within The Consecrated Sepulcher. My PCs simply teleported away (pretty easy for a group 13+ level characters to do) after defeating Grogh and avoided the whole Ambush encounter that was suppose to have happened once leaving the Sepulcher.

- The Journey to Giustenal

Personally, I skipped the whole approach to Giustenal. My PCs had previously been to the ruined city and tried teleporting in. Instead of having the teleport simply fail and deal damage, I had it redirect the PCs  (as well as deal damage) directly to the arena and the encounter with Mon-Adderath.

-Confrontation at the Pristine Tower

Unlike your PCs, mine got hurt on their way to the Tower. They kind of balked at what they considered "lame" attempts to damage them in order for the Tower's mutation aura  to take affect (i.e. falling into mole boar burrows and slipping on the stairs of the Tower).

I'd recommend replacing the mole boar burrows with Dregoth's undead legion detailed in CBtSS  and place them in the fields between the Bogo Forest and the Tower. This would be especially fitting for PCs that didn't destroy the Magical Orb sustaining them in the first Giustenal adventure. As replacement to slipping on the Tower steps I'd have Grogh-En make an untimely reappearance and engage the PCs in a stairwell battle.

The rematch with Zar’kat Daar was short. He's no match for a party of 14+ level characters on his own. I'd recommend giving some backup when  facing the party. Possibly with some of the fiends mentioned in the original CBtSS boxed set (Which are strangely absent in this adventure).

One of my PCs cutted the head of Grogh-En... Explaining the scepulture with the ancient holder of the Star revealed that aspect.

As for myself, they went out by on feet but wiped the peoples outside in one round...

That's a good idea. Although, I had one friend that came over 5 hours trip to play with us... hum. I just couldnt finish the game in 2 hours hey? So, I added stuff around. They moved by siltskimmer (by hiring one). They really tryed hard to get inside guistenald, they even tryed to enter the underground. At least they had a challenge. Once inside, I found a way to make them meet with Mon-Adderath.

-Confrontation at the Pristine Tower

Good idea. Btw, that game spanned over 3 years (not all weeks, but they started at level 3 and ended up at 16). I tryed to give them "mostly useless" magical items at that time. They mixed it them up and overcame all these easy threat. Flying carpet 5'x5', bottle of air and portable hole... think of the sh*t they can do with that.

The rematch with Zar’kat Daar was short. He's no match for a party of 14+ level characters on his own. I'd recommend giving some backup when  facing the party. Possibly with some of the fiends mentioned in the original CBtSS boxed set (Which are strangely absent in this adventure).

Either pumping him up or more, give him a few peoples with him. Only one target is too easy for that kind of high level campaign.
