I understand that Thri-Kreen only live about 30 years, so I am wondering what age my Thri-Kreen PC would begin at. Humans are assumed to begin play around 18 or so, but they live much longer!

Thri-kreen are fully size by 4 years old, and fully mature by age 5.  Their wandering age is at 6 years and older.

Not entirely sure if this fits this topic, but something I have been using to determine starting ages is a formula borrowed from an older Dark Sun setting book. If someone has something for the races I left blank to complete the chart I would appreciate the input. So here it is.

Race                           Starting Age
Dwarf                          25 + 4d6
Elf                               15 + 3d4
Half-elf                        15 + 2d4
Halfling                        25 + 3d6
Dragonborn
Human                        15 + 1d8
Mul                              15 + 1d6
Shifter
Tiefling
Thri-kreen                    6
Eladrin

Yeah, I believe for lack of any better information that is the starting age I would go with. But as everything goes you need to verify this with your DM to make sure he hasn't got some other idea in mind. Who knows in his world the ages may be entirely handled different than what I presented above.
I would be interested to hear anyone's input on the ages for Dragonborn, Tieflings, Shifter, and Eladrin.

in 2ed thrikreen started out younger than six and fully matured as they leveled up ie at certain levels they began producing thier venom and with racial memory began remembering how to make dasl

with dray(dragonborn) i would use the human chart as they are magically mutated humans
with eldarin i would prolly use the elf chart as they are basically an offshoot race
teiflings i would use thier basic life expectancy from the 4th ed stuff or the human chart if they dont have 4th ed info on them

Thanks for the input on those syrric. As for the age of the thri-kreen actually i did get that from a 2nd edition book. Which shows suggested starting age as 6.
